Went here since the stockade did not have what I was looking for in stock. I did’t expect them to have what I was looking but they did. Very helpful staff also.

Great Place for all your Reloading needs they have everything. The only reason I gave 4 stars is their prices are higher than I would like.

They have seemed to change tremendously, or it might be that I’m older and look a little bit less long haired and hippy-​ish.

Great big store. Nice area and easy to find. They have some great deals on holsters and they’re very friendly. There’s quite a bit of foot traffic since it’s in a «strip mall» setting. I liked it and so does the hubby.

I needed to do ppt. I called to see if I should make an appointment. He basically told me that they don’t want to do it and that I should go to the store the gun was purchased at cause they lose money and its «rude» to go to a different store. He was the rude one and very condescending. I was going to purchase a Glock 19 while I was there but will now take my business else where. The prices here are over inflated and the customer service is extremely lacking. They should be ashamed. Places like this won’t be in business long. I’d rather wait in line at turners.

A nice store and very helpful. However, their prices are very high compared to Riflegear or Ammo brothers. For example, Fowlers wants $ 595 for a Glock 27 with stock sights. Other store sell them for $ 499.
They also have lots of older guns, but if you want a good selection of modern guns and rifles, go to Riflegear or Ammo brothers in Santa Ana. This store is still better than Turners.

It is difficult to find a firearm store with a wider selection, more helpful staff, or greater knowledge and experience base in its employees than Fowler’s Gun Room. I’ve been there dozens of times and always walked out satisfied with the service and availability of employees to answer questions and show the guns. The reason for the two star review is the pricing. Fowler’s regularly prices their firearms $ 50-​$ 100+ over M.S.R.P. I went in there and purchased a used rifle, and the associate was more than happy to assist me and let me hold it and think about it for nearly an hour. After I decided to purchase, I used their convenient layaway plan, paid it off in no time, and picked my gun up with no problems whatsoever. In my inexperience, however, I failed to shop around before I made the purchase. Turns out, I paid $ 145 over M.S.R.P. standard price for a bone stock USED gun. I don’t fault them for that, it was my mistake and though it was a difficult lesson to learn, I am still happy with my purchase. After learning that however, I compared other guns they had with differing shops and common market prices, and unfortunately though l still visit often I can never buy a gun from them again. It’s a waste of money unless you’re willing to pay a premium to support small business, which in this particular industry, I am not.

I was just there with my girlfriend. She is a 5 feet 10 in tall white woman. I am a 5 foot 0 in tall Filipina. We are both avid gun shooters. With a collection of fire arms. We were there looking for a lever action rifle one for her one for me. Take a good guess who they ignored and passed up. I have a credit limit of 50k in just one credit card alone with zero balance. No debts. And plenty of liquid assets in my bank account. I was ready to purchase a rifle today. But I decided not to spend a penny in Fowler Gun Room.
They just assumed that because I am a minority female, that I have no cash or interest in making a purchase. I was completely ignored by these trailer trash, corn picking red necks while they kissed my white friend’s Lilly white ass.
I will never return there even if they were giving away their guns. My dollar is the same value as anyone else regardless of my race and skin color. As a matter of fact most Asian people in this country have real wealth and accessible liquid assets. What does that mean for fowler gun room? When you see an Asian woman or people walk in your store, treat them the same way as you would as any white person. Most likely, my people have more money than any white person in this country. Just remember we are not the ones on welfare. Majority of welfare recipients are white people.

Great selection but higher than MRSP on most everything. They are not shy about overpricing their guns and fees.
In fact, I they even tried to overcharge me on California State DROS for a new purchase by charging me $ 35 instead of $ 25 which is illegal since the $ 10 overcharge was
combined with the DROS, a practice the manager said was standard for them, as he refunded me $ 10. An important note is that I am female as was my friend who was totally ignored by staff, so I tend to think they attempt to take advantage of that.
This was my first business dealing with Fowler Guns and it will be my last. With Turners and Ammo Brothers, just a few miles away in opposite directions, who both provide better pricing, and better customer service there really is no reason to have to do business with these people; just look touch and feel and buy elsewhere!

How much is the state fee when purchasing a firearm?
The total state fee is $ 25. The DROS fee is $ 19.00 which covers the costs of the background checks and transfer registry. There is also a $ 1.00 Firearms Safety Act Fee and a $ 5.00 Safety and Enforcement Fee. In the event of a private party transfer (PPT), the firearms dealer may charge an additional fee of up to $ 10 per firearm.
If the transaction is not a PPT the dealer may impose other charges as long as this amount is not misrepresented as a state fee. When settling on the purchase price of a firearm, you should ask the dealer to disclose all applicable fees.

I have been very happy with Fowlers. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Have bought several guns and amo there.

Evidently Fowler’s customer service, or service period, truly has declined over the past several years, according to the many complaints and bad reviews on Unilocal and elsewhere (local network). It would appear that if you are not standing directly in front of a Fowler’s employee, looking directly at their handgun display case, customers’ questions or needs are not important enough to warrant courteous communications.
E.g. I have been on hold for 29 minutes with Fowler. Just out of curiosity, I left the call open, put it on speaker and, as I type this, I’m still on hold. Our call was regarding a very simple, fast question regarding product availability on an ancillary handgun accessory. We have heard and read similar complaints regarding Fowler’s discourteous service. My intentions were to purchase a S&W 686 Deluxe, .357 Magnum and had been put on an alert list when that firearm once again came back into Fowler inventory. During the interim, I will buy a Ruger GP100 .357 (placing the S&W on «layaway» should it come in before the Cal DOJ 30 «grace» period for the Ruger had expired).
Having been a customer of Fowler for more than 30 years, neither one of the two aforementioned firearm transactions will occur, at least not with Fowler or Stockade gun room, nor will any future purchases (ammo, cases, etc, etc). But then, I get the distinct impression from what I’ve been hearing locally (again, mostly through an extensive network), that Fowler is well aware that they have the home-​court advantage. There are plenty of customers in O.C./L.A. counties for Fowler to burn through, without having to worry about their legacy customers, or ANY customer for that matter.
Ammo Bros answered our call on the second ring, and advised that they had one of the items we were searching for in inventory, all in under 4 minutes. Wow, that’s valuing a customer. Whoever the current owners (Kathleen Mitchell?) of Fowler are, better lookout.
Btw, now on hold for 40 minutes (interrupted this review to make some calls; Fowler closes in 10 minutes) with absolutely no answer. Not a very glowing testimonial, memorial or tribute to the sad loss and memory of Colleen Fowler many years ago. Another «what-​a-​shame» for another declining O.C. business.

Fast service and great prices. They offer LEO discounts and have a great knowledge base. I enjoy their sales too. Overall they have a good selection and large showroom to display inventory.

I went in for the first time on 11÷12÷15 to conduct a ppt and the service was excellent from the get-​go. The young lady behind the counter was very courteous and on it! The fastest/​effective ppt I’ve had so far. Definitely faster than turners. Came back today 11÷22÷15 to pick up my acquisition and again, excellent customer service. Omar provided an outstanding level of customer service and Juan was a laugh riot. Great staff, much appreciated.
The main point I want to make here is, being new to firearms as i am you find yourself dealing with gun enthusiasts and salesmen who possess a vast amount of knowledge but additional a HUGE EGO. Not here, not mine experience at least. You definitely have a returning customer in me. Thanks guys!

Fowler Gun Room was a great experience. They are well staffed to answer all your questions and have a very wide array and plentiful inventory. I was there for well over an hour and spoke with 4 different employees all of which were happy to assist. I spent most of my time with Mark and he went above and beyond to make my experience a long lasting one.
I will definitely make Fowler’s my go to place for all guns and ammo related purchases. I recommend Fowler Gun Room to all.
You must bring cash if you plan to take the Firearm Safety Certification Test or make a transfer.

Customer service was great! They know what they’re talking about, and they’re passionate about guns! They have a huge selection of guns. I will definitely be back soon!

Cross Fowler’s off my list. We went in to do a PPT when they opened. The clerk says come back in a couple hours. There are people in front of you. The store was empty.
I realize a PPT is a pain for gun shops so I will buy something as an appreciation for their service. I’m in the market for a G22 which I would have looked at. No more. You guys lost a customer.

Atypical gunshop. How?
Well, the staff here actually gives a damn about customer service. Whether you’re browsing for a high-​end 1911 custom shop pistol (which they have a very nice selection of btw), or looking to simply complete a private party transfer, the staff here is cordial and welcoming. For whatever reason, that is atypical of many gun shops where the general tone is apathetic at best.
Fowler Gun Room — think Turner’s, but with excellent service, good attitudes, and knowledgeable staff. From selection of in-​stock firearms to general equipment (safes, ammo, reloading gear, etc, Fowler Gun Room earns a rare 5 star rating from me. Highly recommended.

Fowlers offers a wide array of firearms, knives and accessories. Prices are competitive. Not sure what the gripe is about customer service. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgable, especially Steve. It’s located in an older, rundown plaza — parking is ample.

over & was helpful. I got my brass & primers & out the door in 10 minutes
including explanations about things I was unaware of. That was nice.
They will get ALL my business. Maybe a good attitude is the key — like any place.

Ahhhhhhh home sweet gun store… Just disappointed that they didnt have haardly anything of what I was looking for. Unlike other 5.56 shops, they were not anti 7.62×39 and had respect for the weapons of said caliber. It was a very good experience. I kinda viewed this place as Turners without the attitude/​lack of knowledgeable or Ammo Bros without the anti anything but ARs attitude.
The staff was on top of their game. They are nice, have great expertise, and are willing to help you buy the solution that you want however they can. They have a lot of rifles of many calibers. A lot of hunting rifles specifically.
My problem with this place is that they are on the high end of the pricing scale. But that is obvious when you walk in and see all the work done on the interior. its a very nice shop. They dont negotiate much as well so that is kinda detrimental. When you cant negotiate at all on the pricing and its high end that kinda sucks… at least they have sales now and then.
So this is a great resource shop, but not likely a place to purchase from, at least for me. Definitely worth stopping off at to check out though.
