John has a diverse background in the environmental consulting industry. Since 1990, He has performed and managed over 10,000 environmental consulting projects. His experience includes the design, performance and management of microbiological, lead-​based paint, asbestos, phase one site assessments, radon, and much more. He has lectured on the health effects, abatement, worker safety, investigation and awareness for asbestos, lead and microbiological concerns.

So I bought a house in 1960s and they said that I had to have certified folks come in for asbestos testing. I tried to hire people directly to remove it (popcorn ceiling) but the companies I talked (2 largest abatement in the area) to said that they changed the policy 2 years ago and everything has to be tested by the state certified inspectors.
So they have a flat fee for coming out and then they do sample testing. The sample testing is based on the sq footage of the house. In my house of 1800, they had to do 5 samples. Scheduled next day and gathered samples in 30 minutes and gave me a report in 2 days. Pretty fast and easy.

I’ve work with Envirocheck for a number of years for everything I’ve needed testing for; asbestos, mold, bacteria — they do it all and do it pretty damn well. Their rates are not the cheapest, but they’re not outrageous either.
Some reviewers show their ignorance of the protocols and rate schedules set forth that companies like Envirocheck must adhere to.
Before wanking about something you have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about, do some research or better yet, put a cork in it and get out of the way.
Envirocheck is one of the best around!!!

I will have to agree with Evan. This company does not communicate with the customer. They just come in and start doing bogus tests and overcharge you to the sum of $ 995 ! I strongly advise calling another company if you ever need this type of work done! They are like leaches when there is an Insurance claim and start digging in with anything they can muster up. No wonder our insurance rates are skyrocketing!

I am reviewing as a customer and a previous employee. I worked for them when I was in high school. Wonderful employer, so much fun to work for. I felt appreciated and I learned so much here. It was a small company back in 2000 and it has grown a lot. (John is a great entrepreneur, so inspiring.) The professional skills that I learned from this company help opened many career opportunities for me later.
I used their service when the apartment I was living with was infested with mold. The booking appointment process was quick and easy. The technician went out to our house, collected the samples, and gave us a comprehensive report. They gave us a verbal on the phone and sent out the hard copy of the report in the mail. We used the report for evidence to sue our landlord and won the lawsuit.

I work for a water damage/​mold remediation contractor and we occasionally need samples tested for asbsetos and lead. Envirocheck, Inc. has very agreeable pricing and a quick turn around. They call with results and then email the report. They have always been friendly and professional. I’m very happy with them.

Definitely cannot recommend this company. Horrible communication skills. Slow turn around time. They are charging me $ 595 more than I signed for because of some other bogus charges that I did not approve. Since getting something in writing is now not sufficient to ensure you are charged a correct amount (at least for this company) I would steer clear unless you want to be over charged for a poor job! Keep getting the run around and cannot get a clear answer.
Apparently the «any requested changes must be approved by Envirocheck in writing prior to commencement of work» clause that i signed for is completely meaningless to these guys. Extremely dissatisfied.

Working with ENVIROCHECK for over 2 years, sending them over 150+ jobs, they have been outstanding. They provide quick results, great customer service and provide results that are unbiased. It is sad to read reviews from others where results didn’t go in their favor and they blame the testing company… If you are looking for testing, this is the team you want to use!

Envirocheck did air sampling for asbestos clearance for our asbestos remediation work peformed by PW Stephens. I guess PW Stephens did a quality job as their work passed on the first sampling. Envirocheck setup the air sampling, was quick to process the sampling and produce the report within 3 days after the sampling. Our experience with Envirocheck was excellent.

They will cash your check fast but they promise to call with results next day… no call… Larry says he will send the report in a day or two because he does them quickly… still no report 5 days later… For $ 800 I should not have to track them down and they should not be giving out false information. I am now doubtful for almost $ 800 if the results are real. I feel very taken.
