Cherry On Top

I love cherry on top! Yummy, quiet place where I would always catch up with old friends. My sister, however, told me a week ago that this place is closed now. Correct me if I’m wrong…

Every time I go in, there’s been only one person working and he is usually missing in action in the back somewhere… and the store isn’t spotless. He doesn’t come out till I’m ready to pay, which is kind of weird.
The plain tart has been out a few times; but he always fixes it for me.
I like their topping bar because it has fruit, but that being said, when I go in the evenings it is usally out for the day.
This place is good for a quick treat, but there’s a lot they could work on…

Really dissapointed with this location. Our most favorite place is Super Cool in Huntington beach which used to be called Cherry On Top as well. Not sure what the disconnect is but the Cherry On Top/​Super Cool location in HB has always been absolutely amazing! We take friends there all the time and they get hooked. This location had very few flavors and one machine was out of order so it had even fewer! Toppings seemed on the cheaper and 50% of them seemed to be cereal toppings.
Really loved the Cherry On Top in HB and was hoping to find something like that closer to where I live but was let down a bit here. If there were any improvements made would love to try it again but until then will likely not be back. Sorry for the rough review but I just really feel this brand has such great potential. Would be happy to update the review if things change.

Love coming here! Its cheap and delicious! One flavor I recommend is original tart! Best flavor as well as Hawaiian punch!

Love this place!!! They have my absolute favorite (cookies and cream) and it’s so yummy!!! My extremely picky 2 year old (who usually never eats ANYTHING sweet!!) even ate half my dish of yogurt!!!
I found my new favorite spot, and I will drive from Fullerton to Orange just to eat here!!!

It’s true that the selection here is limited, but that’s not what deflates my rating. Simply put, this place is disgusting. This spot has been a part of our rotation for a couple of years now, but that’s ending. Tonight, we found unclean machines, dripping with half-​dried yogurt. The toppings were a complete mess — things mixed together, spoons sticky with who-​knows-​what, and brown fruit. The chocolate syrup container was just… gross.
Seriously, did this place change ownership recently or something? We’ve always loved having a selection of companies to get our frozen dessert at (Golden Soon, Yogurtland, A La Minute, etc), so it’s sad were deleting one from our list.

This froyo store keeps going downhill. It is messy inside the store, I’m not sure how often they clean. The employees are always in the back when you enter and you have to wait at the counter for a while until they come out. The flavors are bad. And often the yogurt is frozen solid making impossible to eat. I do not recommend this place.

And too all the people complaining shut the hell up that’s why there’s a thing called a sample cup .
You can make your decision from that right then and there .
Will be back.

All I can say is BETTER THAN YOGURTLAND !
So come here if you like the addicting crack head pinkberry taste but love yogurtland prices & self service !
They leave sample cups at the registers, plenty of toppings & really clean.
*The only reason why I wouldn’t give this place a 5 star is because they were practically out of original tart & the yogurt wasn’t the most frozen when it came out. (then again we came at night)
–No they don’t have 10 billion flavors that all taste the same *cough yogurtland* but they all have their distinct tastes & are great !

This review is for the Cherry on the Top on Chapman Avenue, Tustin, California.
When the Froyo fad from the 80s kicked a few years back, this was the place I tried it for the first time. Very modern tech look, but welcome and pleasant, it offered several stations (4) with two flavors a piece, with varied, odd and tasty frozen yogurt flavors.
You could chose from two sizes containers (small, large), and it sports a condiment bar in the center of the establishment. You pay by weight (reasonable priced), and you could take it to go or eat it the premises. Highly recommendable.
…Two years later, and having tried other Froyo venues, coming back was quite disappointing. One of the stations was completely boarded up, and all the flavors were in the generic side (vanilla, chocolate, tart vanilla, blueberry, caramel,…). The condiment station is still well stocked, but several of the containers were the same offerings, with only one size available (small). The staff is still nice, but the place feels stale. They really have have fallen behind other Froyo chains.
Is it just here or the whole chain?. It was really a blah experience, and it felt like a chore to be here.
The Golden Spoon across the way couldn’t pick up the slack, so the closest recommended Froyo place will now be Joghurt on 17^th street. Tiny, but it blows away Golden, and (sadly now) Cherry.
It will do in a pinch, but I will skip until better times. =\

This place features delicious flavors, clean surroundings, and a friendly, helpful staff. It is easily located in East Orange with plenty of available parking. We enjoy walking here from our home which is less than a mile from here.

Worst froyo.
Maybe 9 flavors to choose from. 8 of them were about room temperature. They were running and soupy!
Price is decent but who really wants soupy ‘frozen’ yogurt???
And the flavors were very bland and basic. Nothing compared to Yogurtland or Menchies.
Pass.

Booooo. 10 or less froyo flavors, didn’t taste spectacular, and wasn’t cold enough/​melting.
Skip this place and head over to Menchies or Yogurtland.

Delicious yogurt, good variety of flavors, tons of topping choices. Good flavor and very affordable. Will continue coming back for my yogurt fix.

Super cheap compared to Yogurtland or Tastea D’lite. Bought 2 for $ 5.04.
Plenty of toppings and variety to choose from. Not plenty of yogurt choices. Be careful when sampling because the yogurt shoots out very quickly! Lol…
Decent place but I advise to go there during the daytime, it can become a little ghetto a night.

Every time we go here, the machine is broken to the flavor we want. The staff can’t fix the machines. Only 10% of the time they have the favors we want. Always one or two empty favors, staff is often hiding in the back. Love the tart yogurt, when we can get it…
Kids run the place, No manager on site.

The flavors here never seem as good as what’s available at Yogurtland, but that may just be my personal preference. Regardless, I can still usually find a flavor that I will enjoy. However, the machines here are problematic. I don’t know if it’s done deliberately to prevent lines or to sell more yogurt or if the machines are just broken or what, but the yogurt comes out of the machines really fast so its hard to control how much you get, particularly if you care about the ratios of different yogurt flavors. Maybe I’m picky, but I find it annoying and it makes me want to go to other yogurt retailers instead.
As for the toppings, while lots of them look (and are) yummy, they’re not labelled so it’s not always easy to tell what the different toppings are. Although I wouldn’t be so absurd as to say that my yogurt has been ruined by an inaccurate topping selection, I will admit to a certain degree of disappointment when I think i’m getting heath bar and wind up with kitkat instead… What? My inner fat kid is detail oriented with high expectations, ok?
So what’s the bottom line in my rambling? This place is ok, but if you have the Option for Yogurtland, go there instead.

A yogurt spot, is a yogurt spot… just like any other yogurt spot i’ve ever been to. Actually I can’t say that, they actually have a larger selection of toppings and it’s a bit cheaper than the froyo back east.
It’s really close to my sister’s place and the parking lot makes it much for convenient to go to compared to any locations in the city.
I like.

Sorry Cherry On Top, but you just sucked last night…
Went here with my woman to brush off the bland tasting meat we got from Taqueria Carniceria Tapatia. After looking through the book of coupons we have, we forgot to get the golden spoon one… so we settled for less. To our surprise we settled lesser than we expected.
The place was clean and tidy, but I never knew there were 2 guys even working there at the moment. They honestly looked liked regular customers, even acting like regular customers. I noticed they’re starting to switch out their machines because one is newer than the others (plus all the other froyo places are updated with new ones) and I decided to try out all their flavors, with a sample cup first, ofcourse =P
The pumpkin pie was a hit for me when I tried it, and the cake batter was awesome as well. They had boysenberry which was great fruity flavor and they had a caramel one with an overpowering taste, yet very satisfying. I got the pumpkin and cake batter, and my girl got the caramel and boysenberry (topped with condensed milk…).
After paying for our «less than» $ 5 zengurt, we enjoyed it inside. The pumpkin totally lost its taste for pumpkin. It started to taste like an original tart that was way too tart and someone sprayed pumpkin tasting orange ink on it. It’s honestly hard to explain, but to sum it up, the outside of the yogurt tasted like a rotten pumpkin and the inside of it tasted like an overtart original flavor. I couldn’t finish it… The cake batter also fell in taste and after a while it started to taste like vanilla — forcefully I finished it.
My girls yogurt literally had ice crystal in hers. The caramel lost that pungent sweet taste and it started to taste like cold light corn syrup with brown food coloring. The boysenberry she topped it off with didn’t help the taste, but from then everything went all downhill.
After finishing, one of the co-​workers took the chair we were sitting across from and started watching the Lakers game. I was like w/​e, I would do the same thing if I was single, careless, in high school, have a low paying job with the cameras pointed elsewhere. I attempted some small talk with the fellow, but he shut me up… Eager to bash the guy across the face, I told my girl «Hunn, we gotta go. This place sucks.»
What an off day for Cherry On Top. I’ll give it another chance since sweet is in my forte and they change out their flavors from time to time, but I’ll look through the window first to see who’s working or else I may throw somebody through it.
