California Trolley

I had booked CA trolley far in June 2012 for my wedding July 2013. Somewhere along the way in the midst of Bob selling the company to a new owner, my reservation got lost. However, Laura, the new owner honored the rate that Bob had offered me. They arrived an hour early on my wedding day and were very pleasant to work with. They even had drinks for us on the trolley which I thought was a nice touch. Our driver Eric was also great to work with! I can’t wait for my wedding pictures on the trolley and I highly recommend CA trolley for your event if you could get a hold of them!

I wish I could put zero stars. Stay away! I am a bride who has been attempting to book their services for two months. I’ve called ten times, filled out five online inquiries, and have heard nothing back. Clearly they don’t want or need business. Most of the time my phone calls went right to voicemail. If this is how they treat prospective customers, I can’t IMAGINE how they would treat you after they get your money. Especially for those who are looking to book a trolley for your wedding, I wouldn’t take a chance on this company ruining your special day.

After 4+ months of trying to reach this company, I have given up. Loved the idea of a trollet for my rehearsal dinner, but the thought of working with such terrible business people is frightening. They never returned any of my voicemails or email inquiries. I talked to the Laguna Beach tourism board who said they have had serious communication problems with them as well. The new owner is apparently driving this company into the ground.
I have hired OC Cruiser which were a pleasure to deal with through the contract process. Cant wait to work with them in September.
If you are dying for a trolley, google Laguna Beach transit, they can do charters with their trolleys!
ZERO stars deserved for OC trolley

wanted to use California Trolley as a form of transportation for my wedding party and guests since it was something fun and different but unfortunately due to an apparent change of management/​ownership, this company was just totally unorganized and unresponsive to my requests and i had to find other means of transportation.
i had originally signed a contract and paid a 50% deposit with Bob and although there was some delay in his initial responses to my inquiries, he came through with a great price and would accommodate all my requests which i thought was awesome. a few months go by and i want to finalize details but after numerous calls, emails and messages, heard nothing from the company. then we finally hear something back from Laura saying that there’s been a change of ownership in the company but that they will honor previous signed contracts — great right? but nope… even with Laura running the show, it was the same non-​responsiveness and then trying to change pricing and contract details. we got so fed up/​frustrated/​anxious since our event date was approaching fast that we ended up canceling our contract because i just couldnt leave the trolley up to chance without feeling 100% confident that a trolley would actually show up to pick me up…
California Trolley’s only saving grace and why i’m not entirely upset with them is that they did honor my cancellation without any issue and i have received my fully refunded deposit along with a nice apology letter. so no hard feelings and i hope that after their ownership changes are all figured out and once they get it all back under control, that their company will function much more efficiently and that they deliver great service to future weddings/​events.

Sadly, I hope this business is closed, because the alternative is rather tragic.
Used the contact form on the website to ask for a quote. (No reply.)
Called the phone number on the website repeatedly. (No answer.)
Left voicemail on their company phoneline. (No callback.)
Sent inquiry via Facebook messages. (No response.)
Wrote e-​mail to the e-​mail address on their Facebook page. (No luck.)
As far as I can tell, this business is closed. There’s been no activity on the Facebook page for months, and no response via every single method possible.
Luckily, I found another rental company to fill the trolley shaped hole in my heart.
Edit: I’ve been getting a lot of PMs asking for the name of the other trolley company. We went with American GTS, and they were absolutely perfect in every way.
To this date, I still haven’t received a callback from California Trolley.

We used California Trolley for our daughter’s wedding and had a great experience! The trolley was on time, it was cute and vintage on the inside, and the driver was friendly and professional. It’s perfect for large groups as it holds about 27 people. Therefore, we were able to provide transportation to the whole bridal party, and give a short ride to our guest. The only thing you have to remember — its good size and can’t turn around in narrow streets or driveways.
We loved it and would highly recommend using this company. It really added to our daughter’s wedding fun — we can’t wait to see the photos.

I had a GREAT experience with California Trolley. I used this company for transportation for my wedding guests to get to and from the wedding venue. I wanted to offer transportation so that people would not have to drink and drive and found this to be the most afforable option. Bob was very helpful in getting my reservation set up and would always answer my e-​mails promptly.
The day of the wedding, the trolley was soooo fun! All the guests loved it. We also took some really great pictures on the trolley. The only gripe I have is that apparently the trolley driver got a little lost taking the first trip to the venue — I’m not taking off any stars for this, however, since the rest of the experience was so great. Highly recommend.
