I moved to Orange County a few months ago and have been looking for a new stylist, I read through countless Salon reviews on Unilocal and chose Tracy at Avalon. I had the best xperience I’ve had in many years! She was warm and open and right away I let take over and do her magic, she transformed my hair into this beautiful blonde Ombré! It looks so natural and the cut is beautiful! Also the women that assist are really sweet and look to make you comfortable! Tracy has an abundance of passion for her work!

I came to Avalon Salon with a friend of mine who has been coming to see Tracey for several years. I was looking for a new salon since I did not have one I regularly went to and left the salon never wanting to go anywhere else.
Kayla cut my hair while Tracey did an amazing ombré on my friend. I met Kayla who is a sweet woman who loves what she does. My haircut easily felt like one of the best I’ve ever had. I asked for a simple trim to get all of the old colored, brittle, dry hair that had grown out to my ends and asked to keep the length. We agreed on an inch, which is a bit longer than what I had in mind of cutting, but I went with it because my ultimate goal is to no longer have this brassy, damaged hair anymore. I loved the fact that she took her time. She cut my hair and gave it a nice blow dry and I noticed a huge difference in how my hair felt. Super soft and flowy! Kayla explained that she gave me long layers that she felt framed my face better, and that when my hair starts to grow in, it will grow evenly all around. The visit felt extremely personable, and I had heart eyes not just for my hair but for Kayla!
My cut finished before my friend’s ombré which is when I got an opportunity to chat with Tracey. She is so dedicated and passionate about her job and it shows in the results of her work. Despite it being my first time meeting the ladies of Avalon Salon, I’m eagerly waiting for my hair to get long again so I can come back to these incredibly sweet ladies!

I came into Tracy’s salon at first by going in with my mom because her friend worked there. It was in 2009 right after I decided to chop off my long hair and got the asymmetrical bob and they did a terrible job. After meeting Tracy, she offered to fix my hair and I fell absolutely in love with her passion and the way that she talks about the people that she loves and her career in hair. Tracy is responsible for my blond hair in which I had not altered whatsoever since 3 years ago. I swear by her and I don’t dare go to anyone else because there is a certain level of loyalty and trust that cannot be broken, especially when it comes to matters of the hair.
Ladies, you know what I mean.

Tracey is simply amazing. She simultaneously is everywhere at once, tending to each and every detail around her all while making you feel like you’re the only person in the world and catering to your every need. She listens intently as you tell her what you want, assures you every step of the way that she’s keeping you in mind, and checking each and every aspect, asking for verbal confirmation – Tracey isn’t done until you are perfectly satisfied. Her team is incredibly generous, kind and caring, all smiles all around, and her prices are almost too good to be true for the caliber of service. I have (poorly) maintained my own hair (cut and platinum grey color) for two years now, due to a lack of trust from one bad experience after another with other exorbitantly expensive salons, and Tracey has restored my faith in the professional hair care world. Thank you, Tracey and team, for everything you do. So happy with my hair now!

Tracy has been my stylist for many years. She is the best stylist I’ve ever had. I’m picky about my hair cuts and had had no consistent result until I met Tracy. I love my hair, and I owe it all to Tracy. She’s very friendly and sweet. She’s kindhearted and goes out of her ways to please you. I would not have my hair cut by anyone other than Tracy. Every person I’ve referred to Tracy has loved her, as well. They, too, now refuse to see anyone else except Tracy. Book your appointment in advance, because Tracy is highly sought after. She also owns Allure Salon in Fountain Valley and works there a few days a week. Be sure to contact the other location in case you can’t get in to see Tracy at this location.

Outstanding salon customer service that Tracey and her staff provided to my Wife and myself. She was amazing and very caring with my Wife and very knowledgeable and we were treated like longtime clients and they earned themselves lifelong clients. Perfect 10 and professional upscale posh quality and well deserving of the price which by the way was a lot cheaper than I thought it would be. I love it

I’ve been to the other salon, Allure, in past years but glad to find out the owner also have Avalon salon here in Orange closer to my home.
Tried Tracey for first time for highlights and she really worked hard to achieve the color that I wanted (and it was difficult because I had dark hair before and random highlights that she had to even out… was there for 3 hours). She does know her colors and highlights!

Tracey is still amazing at what she does & I’m so happy the way my hair turned out! She always goes the extra mile & takes her time with each client. I have recommended her to some of my girlfriends and they too were happy with their hair color. I’ll be back again when I need a touch up :)

Tracey (Tracy?) has been doing my hair for over 10 years and I only trust her to do my hair because she knows what she is doing. She is dedicated to hair perfection and have very strong work ethics. I wanted to dye my hair for the first time and I knew I had to have Tracey do it. She knows Asian and virgin hair very well and I am so so happy with the results. I went from dark brown/​black to quite blonde without any brassy colors!

So glad i found Tracy. Today was my second time coming for color and highlights. Im always satisfied and happy with Tracy’s magical hands. Always does a wonderful job. She is very professional, experienced, she listens to you and gives you her honest opinion on what cut, color changes will look better on you. At the end, she knew exactly what i wanted.

It saddens me to have to write this but I need to let others know of how I was treated at this salon a few days ago in the hopes that this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
I first want to say that I have been a regular client of Tracey’s for the past couple of years, seeing her regularly (at both her salons) every 2 – 3 months for a hair cut. She has always been very pleasant and I have always been pleased with how she has cut my hair; her staff is very pleasant as well.
Last week I scheduled a hair appointment to see Tracey at this salon. I spoke with a gentleman who helped make the appointment and who even confirmed the day and time for me before hanging up the phone. Tracey is extremely busy, and I know she books up 2 – 3 weeks in advance. However, when I asked the gentleman about the day I was looking for, he told me that she was available and to come in the afternoon. I was surprised to get an appointment so quickly but I assumed that possibly there was a cancellation, or something opened up. I did not question the gentleman because I assumed he had the appointment book in front of him and was telling me what her availability was.
So, I show up on my scheduled appointment day and time. I was greeted by Tracey’s staff and asked to wait for her as she was with another client. I had only been seated a few minutes when Tracey comes to the front, looks at her appointment book and says to me in an annoyed tone, «Your appointment is tomorrow, not today.» {There was no greeting, no hello, nothing — as if I was a stranger to her} Surprised and not really processing yet what she was saying to me, I told her that I had made the appointment for today. Tracey then, in a rude tone started telling me all the reasons why she couldn’t see me on this day — she had back to back clients, she needed to take her time with each client, she books up 2 – 3 weeks in advance… there was every excuse but NO APOLOGY for THEIR MISTAKE and no offer to try to accommodate me for THEIR MISTAKE. I told her that I spoke with a gentleman who helped make the appointment for me, and all she said was, «Ohhhh, well I wasn’t here on that day.»
I was visibly upset because for me it takes a lot of planning just to get a haircut. I schedule childcare, I drive a far distance, I plan my whole day around the appointment. But Tracey just seemed annoyed, and made me feel as if I was in the wrong.
I walked out of the salon annoyed, but with the intention of returning the next day (since they had me scheduled). The next morning I called the salon to make sure I could be seen by Tracey at the time they had scheduled me for. I was shocked AGAIN when the lady I spoke with had said that I wasn’t on the schedule and Tracey was fully booked for the day. I could not believe what I was hearing. I asked to speak with Tracey, but was told that she was working on a client’s hair and that she’d be busy for the next 3 hours. I was told that Tracey would call me «when she had time.»
Never have I been treated so badly as a customer, and the owner not doing anything to try to correct a mistake made on their part. By this time I was pretty livid. I could not believe that the OWNER of the salon was doing NOTHING to try to fix THEIR MISTAKE. Instead I was made to feel like a bother and a nuisance. I was starting to feel as if Tracey thought that her customers are disposable. I was very hurt about this considering I had been seeing Tracey for a long time on a regular basis.
I was called back from the salon later the same day, except it wasn’t from Tracey, a woman by the name of Kayla called me to tell me that Tracey would call me back «when she had time.» I’m not really sure why Kayla called, but she could not tell me if Tracey would call me in 5 minutes, 30 minutes or 1 hour. It was obvious Tracey did not want to speak to me, for what reason I will never know, but that she was using her staff to push me off. I am SHOCKED that the owner of this salon felt no importance to try to contact me herself. Her customers are her business, you would think that she would place value in them. Her actions, or lack of them, really shows how she does not value her customers and treats them as if they are disposable.
Please be aware when dealing with Tracey and her salons, pray that no issues come up because as you can see, when a problem arises she does not know how to handle the issue. Remember, to give true customer service, you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, that is integrity and sincerity. I hate to have to report this salon to the BBB. And by the way, I am still waiting for a call back from Tracey.

This was my first time at this salon. I normally go to Allure Salon in Fountain Valley because it is a little bit closer to my house, but I go wherever Tracey goes!
Recently, the place got some new renovations and it looks amazing! The staff is always so accommodating and friendly. Tracey is the best, always! I stay loyal to her because she has a great personality, knows what’s best and has a great heart. I always enjoy my hair sessions with her. I wouldn’t trust my hair with anybody else!
I came in today for a root touch-​up and haircut. I had so many split ends it was time for a haircut! End result, Tracey picked out the perfect color to match my previous hair color. I don’t know how she does it. She is able to match the hair color every single time. My cut is also so pretty. It looks fuller than ever! Whenever I leave from seeing her, I feel and look like a million bucks.

My hair was getting super long and it was that time to cut it off and get a new look. It’s been too long since I’ve had my hair cut so I don’t have a stylist to go to. I used good old Unilocal to do a search in my home city and found Tracy located at Avalon Salon. I read reviews and Tracy was raved about so I set my appointment and trusted fellow Unilocalers. Well, I was not disappointed at all!!!
Tracy has a great personality and is there to please! She was honest and gave me great opinions about the styles I was looking to get. I have a lot of hair and because of that not every look is easy for me to maintain. She was very excited to cut my hair, since it was so long, and thanked me for allowing her to do so.
As the cut was being done she showed me multiple times how it was coming along from different angles. She asked me if I was okay with things before cutting. Some stylists just cut and do their own thing but Tracy made sure I was on board. I am very pleased and will definitely be back in 6 months for my trim and style with Tracy!

This review is log overdue! Tracey is an amazing stylist, she has mastered her craft and she loves what she does! Prior to my first cut with Tracey I had been wearing the same style for 10+ years mainly because of some very bad experiences in other salons throughout OC. My first visit was a consultation, I showed Tracey various pictures and she explained what would work best with my features as well as my baby fine hair. The following week I went in and decided on an A line style which was the shortest cut I have ever had but I LOVED IT! The cut is so awesome there are days I don’t even have to run the flat iron through it.
Since then I have referred my daughter — she also has an A line cut that she loves. I referred my cousin who has the opposite of me, her hair is thick and curly, Tracey thins it out perfectly. After her first visit she called me and said «THANK YOU, I LOVE TRACEY!»
I haven’t had cuts from any of the other stylists at Avalon but I have noticed their work as I’m getting my hair done, every client walks out smiling and they appear to be very happy.

I have gotten a couple cuts here this year with Tracey at both locations. She always does such a great job with my hair. I’ve know Tracey for years. I use to go to her when I lived in So Cal. When I moved back I definitely made sure to come back to her. I leave my hair in her hands and she never fails.
Chi Tracey is amazing at what she does and she’s one hard working business woman. I recommend Tracey but I’m afraid to say that out loud because her schedule is already busy enough. Haha.
You need to call in way advance. Tracey is very accommodating with your schedule which helps since I work and have a toddler. Her cost is very good too.

I came here twice for a hair cut. I was pretty apprehensive, especially since I have been getting my hair cut at the same place in NorCal for the past few years. Trying to find the right place and hairstylist can be quite nerve-​racking, especially when you’re used to receiving compliments on your hair.
I never got to meet the famous Tracey. I was taken care of by Venna. She really took her time with my hair and made sure to ask questions here and there to make sure I was okay before she snipped off anything. I had pictures on my phone of the hair I wanted as references for Venna, and she wasn’t shy about asking to see the pictures over and over again. I have not been disappointed at all and Avalon Salon is one place I feel safe coming back to. I am definitely interested in working with Tracey if I want to get my hair colored in the near future.

It was my first time here, and I was definitely satisfied with my visit!
I originally called the other salon that Tracey works with and was directed to the phone number of this salon. Tracey picked up the phone and I was able to get in a time with her the next day.
I come at around 2:45 and was pretty much getting worked on right away. Tracey and I talked about what kind of coloring I wanted and she basically told me what she was going to do with my hair haha. I had a light shampoo because my hair was pretty oily from not washing it (heh). This is probably something small, but every time I go get my hair done, the washing station is extremely uncomfortable for my head/​neck. At this salon, the sink did not hurt my neck whatsoever. I was basically so relaxed that I could have fallen asleep.
So then comes the dyeing. She starts by sectioning my hair and doing a fine weaving to get highlights in. After all the foils are done, she kind of just paints the bottom of the un-​foiled hair. The thing I like most about her is that she was constantly asking me questions to make sure she was doing what I wanted, and no one who’s ever done my hair had done that before. I think it’s because she just really wanted to make sure she was doing a good job. Communication is so key when getting your hair done so I was glad she got the memo LOL.
After the whole dyeing process is done, my hair turned a bit ashier than I was used to because my skin tone is warm and my hair was always a warm tone and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep the cool tone. Tracey pretty much immediately took out the toner and turned it to the color it is now and I am do very happy with the results! Thank you to Tracey and her team. Will definitely be coming back

I called for a last minute/​walk in appointment and they were able to accommodate me. At first they asked me to come in the next day but I needed to get my hair cut before Lunar New Year started (weird superstition, I know) so they told me to come in after I was done with work. I was helped by Vanna who did an amazing job and I could not believe how much she charged me. I’m so used to shelling out $ 60+ for just a trim and here I got a hair cut and the exact style that I wanted for $ 30!
I really wanted to get some coloring done but it was too last minute. While I was there, someone came in and was assisted by Tracey (the business owner) and I can tell that the shop will go above and beyond to make sure you’re happy and satisfied. The crazy part is that you get all this dedicated service and you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg. I can’t wait to come back.

I had long burnt hair with a lot of split ends in need to some tlc, so I Unilocaled a salon and came across Avalon.
Although, Tracey seems to the most popular in all the reviews, I went in as a walk-​in and was greeted by Kayla who was able to shampoo, blow dry and cut my hair without an appointment in under an hour.
I decided to cut off about 4 inches and showed Kayla a simple picture of what I wanted. She cut off more than expected but I still like my haircut. I only wish I had asked her to thin out my hair more since I have thick hair.
Kayla was very easy to talk to, super sweet, and took her time throughout the whole process. It was also a very reasonable price.
Parking is plentiful in a lot shared with other businesses.

Excellent service, very professional, and Tracey is amazing as amazing gets. She was such a sweetheart who always says «I’m here to serve you ladies!» and truly keeps to her word. She really tries to keep her customer base happy and really knows her stuff.
First time I had an appointment with her, there was a little mishap and there was a double book. I was in no hurry so I let the person go before and she was nice enough cut my hair free of charge because she never had to make someone wait, and she stayed after to cut my hair just as long as I was happy with it.
I got a medium a-​line cut, which meant chopping off a little over 12 inches and added soft looking highlights that blended into my previous hair color. Highlights were around $ 45. No overpowering chemical smell either. She had mentioned that going so short with such long hair might be shocking so I should just go shorter gradually, and if I wanted to come back, she’ll fix it for free.
I did end up getting it shorter and with more layers and I absolutely loved how it turned out. Great place, spectacular service. Be sure to make an appointment as Tracey does book up fast. I heard Andy is great with color as well.
