LOVETHISPLACE! I ordered food for my sister’s family. I don’t live in the area so my sister picked up the order. They don’t deliver but they forgot to include her delicious kale salad so they delivered it to her home. AWESOME! The food was yummy and service was great.

Amazing British pasty’s and pies the curry pie is to die for whenever were down near this place we stop in because we love their food so much the crust is so flaky and fresh. They make their own fresh bread for sandwiches. As well as scones and cookies. Their fruit pies are also delicious. Make sure you call ahead or come early in the day because when they sellout it’s gone!

What a wonderfully quirky little place! When it says pie don’t be confused… it means savory pot pie. Chicken and mushroom, steak and ale, etc. And it’s not the full menu everyday, it’s whatever they decided to make today. With that said, the chicken pot pie was good, the steak and ale was so good we were competing for the last lick of the tin. Just loved it. Cute concept, pulled off with yummy.

I don’t give 5* that often, but, this place deserves it! Today was our first time here. We ordered the chicken/mushroom and beef pot pie to go. It was still hot when we got home so didn’t have to rewarm it long. Oh my word, the pot pies are to die for!!! Fresh ingredients and plenty of meat in each pie. The crust is the best we have had in a long long time! Light, not greasy, great flavor! We downed every bite! Tried one potatoe/vegetable empanada too… loved it! Absolutely delicious! We are definitely returning! There are more things on the menu we want to try! Place is very clean and help is super friendly. Plus, prices are very affordable! Anxious to come back!

This place is small mom and pop shop. They are very friendly and have great customer service. You can tell they have a lot of regulars. There menu consists of pot pies flavor chicken and veggies, Currie chicken, and many others. They have soups that they make fresh tomato soup, squash soup, chicken noodle etc. They have pre made salads and sandwiches. For dessert they have cookies, cheesecake, scones and etc. I ordered a chicken pot pie with veggies and a chelate ship cookie. Chicken pot pie was good it had carrots peas broccoli and rotisserie chicken. It had big pieces of chicken it tasted fresh and my favorite part was the crust it was delicious. The soup part of the pot pie was okay would have liked more flavor. But hey who makes fresh chicken pot pies now a days not so many places. Chocolate chip cookie was okay it was soft but needed more sugar it was missing something. I was hoping they would have some sort of fruit pie like cherry, Apple but they didn’t have any was a little sad. Overall it’s a good place will go back to try a sandwich and soup.

Pot Pies, Pot Pies, Pot Pies… Fresh Delicious Beautiful crust Hot Scrumptious Size small Price average Service friendly Calling ahead for your particular pot pie is recommended. Since everything is made fresh. There is also salads, sandwiches, deserts, and other freshly baked goods. Industrial building area. Plenty of parking. Unilocal map is right on the spot. Enjoy.

Ate here because of reviews and the stellar five star perfection. Left the establishment incredibly confused. This is definitely not a five star place to eat. Two because the woman was friendly and the cookie was delicious. Cookies to save the day.

I saw the great review but I was worried Unilocal!had steered me astray when we pulled up into a commercial building with a small hole in the wall restaurant. The inner décor was like a older sandwich spot had been gutted and then the pie shop took over what was left of the space. The mean looked basic but everything we ordered was beyond delicious. Amongst our table we ordered a chicken and mushroom pie, a beef and ale pie and a chicken club. We had to go back from more pies because they were so dang good. I wanted to fill my pockets with empanadas for a quick on the go savory snack so I could just savor the flavor all day long. The«spice» is legit spicy too. It was like habernero juice and def lit my chicken clube rightup. So if you like pie enfuego just dab a few drops of their spice.

This is an unassuming placed tucked in a very industrial part of Ontario. They serve excellent homemade savory pies, lunch meals, delectable desserts and what not that will remind you of your mother’s cooking(sans the bad ingredients such as MSG). Their chicken and mushroom pie, chicken and leek pie and tomato basil soup felt like a treat! Very rich and flavorful. My husband enjoyed his peach and cream scone also. Their cheesecakes are a must-try too! They are open only on weekdays. And since they are not a fast food, please don’t give them less stars on Unilocal just because they don’t always have everything that’s listed on the menu. They make everything from scratch so they have to make just enough, based on their daily projections. It’s a mom and daughter shop, trying to run a business, so they don’t have room to throw away unsold pies at the end of the day. Try to come in early to see their full food selection.

Alright, a place that has five stars after 100+ reviews is really worth a shot thus I stopped in and gave it a shot. So the food is good. All the reviews that said it(the pot pies) had a flaky butter delicious crust were right. The review that said the pastry(peach strudel) was succulent, tart, yet sweet but not too sweet, it was right on. The review that said the cookies were light and crispy on the edge while buttery and soft in the middle… you guessed it, they were right. My only complaint is that we got there around 1:30 pm and the selection wasn’t the entire menu. But it’s a mom and pops spot they can’t be waisting money by throwing home cooked, delicious items such as these away. So go try it out and get what’s available you will not be disappointed.

This is a very hole in the wall place and if I didn’t know to look for it I would have missed it. I came with a coworker and we both got sandwiches. I would say it’s a decent sandwich not the worst one I’ve had, but definitely not overly amazing. I was thinking of a more knock my socks off sandwich for all the five star reviews so just a little let down.

I don’t write many reviews but in this case, I had to make an exception because Home Pie Bakery & Café is above and beyond. I called ahead to get a cheesecake for a friend’s mom who recently was hospitalized. I was greeted warmly by the lady with glasses at the front counter who took her time to tie ribbons around the packaging. While I waited, Patty handed me an empanada sample(that had perfect crust and filling) and they assured me that her cheesecake is absolutely the best in the world. Patty, you were true to your word and made an elderly cheesecake lover’s day! You have the magic touch! Thank you!

Patty is absolutely the best! There’s nothing like walking into a place and seeing the owner/proprietor with a bowl and whisk in hand. To call the chicken/leek pie I had just«good», or even«great» would be to insult just how perfect it was. Organic chicken, rich gravy, and just the right amount of leek made it a PERFECT pie. This is one of those places that Unilocal was created for — out of the way, hole in the wall, locals only, etc etc. Sure glad I found it!

This place is the best little gem in Ontario. We totally stumbled upon this place randomly. It all started when we were picking up a vehicle that had been towed the night before. Since we were in the area and hungry, we searched Unilocal for something close by. We were amazed that this place had 5 stars after 190+ reviews so we figured we’d try it out. It did not disappoint. The meat pies were sooo good. And the service from who I can only assume is the owner, was the sweetest most welcoming service I’ve ever received. She made us feel like we were eating in her home and were a part of her family. We are only here visiting from Germany, but we will definitely be back. Those meat pies are sooo delicious!

My husband and I were in the area and of course we wanted to try something new and tantalizing. We searched Unilocal and found this place with a glowing 5 Stars and couldn’t wait to try this place out! First of all keep in mind it’s located in an industrial area where you’d find offices or businesses it’s not in a location you might expect to find a restaurant bakery. We found the bright red sign and eagerly went inside to find a quaint, charming, great smelling little slice of heaven. The two ladies we talked to one was a sweet Jamaican sounding lady who also comes from England and another equally as friendly brunette lady with glasses. Both women obviously take pride in their jobs and in the food they prepare and serve. They both asked us several times how we liked the food and took time answering our questions. We ordered the veggie soup with a loaf of fresh baked bread on the side and a meatball sandwich. We also ordered an Apple pastry, maple almond bar for dessert. The soup was amazing. It was flavored perfectly, the vegetables were soft and flavorful. The broth was so delicious I dipped my bread into the soup broth. The bread was super soft and so delicious. My husband’s meatball sandwich was delicious, the tomato sauce was spiced perfectly, the cheese melted on top was decadent. He was quite satisfied with his sandwich. Our desserts were unbelievable! The Apple pastry had flaky, wonderful crust. The apples were spiced just right, not too sweet, not sour. The crumble on top was mouth watering. The maple almond bar was equally as satisfying with a rich flavor and texture. This pretty much melts in your mouth! I can’t express how impressed I was with the service, the food and the value! We’re not really in this part of town often but when we are we will make it a point to come back. I can’t wait to try one of their pies. They were all sold out when we got there!

Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake baker’s(wo)man Bake me a cake as fast as you can Mix it and stir it and bake it just right Good from the first ’til the very last bite Was Mother Goose psychic? Patty, the baker. She is the most charming, hard working Jamaican-Nigerian-English baker with a law degree I have ever met. And the only reason she did not become a lawyer was because she has a conscience. Lawyer + Conscience = bad combo. Baker + Conscience = Good combo. Good example, she insisted on not charging for our chocolate croissant because it was«old». I can think of many places that offered baked goods that were far beyond their shelf life and who did not blink an eye to sell it anyway. She may never get rich this way, but I think I already love this baker with a conscience. Home Pie Bakery and Café has been open for about 1 year. Easy to miss, it is an unexpected surprise in a long line of boring, grey industrial buildings. Easy to get to, head to the city of Ontario on the 60 freeway. Just jump off at Archibald and head north a few blocks. You will find her there sporting a radiant smile. Her pride in her products is evident. Her fruit pastries are made with fresh not frozen or canned fruit. The fillings are generous, the crusts so flaky it will bring you to tears, the pastries as delicious as her personality is engaging. It was before noon. I was hoping for a veggie pie, already out. Peach pie, out. Several slices of dark chocolate cake were still sitting in her refrigerator case, but they must be pretty popular, because Patty says they sell out the minute she makes them. The chocolate cake, well, first bite and I understood why. Mr. B took her challenge and grabbed a slice of chocolate cake, also an apple strudel. I slipped in that freebie chocolate croissant and a pretty yeast roll that had been brushed with butter and sprinkled with sugar on top, then pointed to a beef empanada, and two kinds of mini chicken pot pies. We have been nibbling at our treasures all day now, and there are no disappointments. So what have I missed? The salads, sandwiches, dinner entrees like roasted chicken dinner. I am drawing a blank. Once my eyes locked onto her bakery cases, I failed miserably to read her menu. Wish she had a website. Guess I will have to go back. Darn. Oh, yeah. She gives hugs too. Sure glad she chose baking over lawyering.
