Great place — love the location & the free parking in the garage. I sometimes stop in here on the way home from work. I enjoy the deli & hot food area — most of my visits are to grab a quick bite to eat & I really like the options they have. Nice people who are very helpful. Also the beer & wine selection is pretty good.

I come here for the hot deli food, a $ 7 plate includes main entrée, 2 sides and a drink. Really can’t do much better. Food is good, selection is good and the customer service is excellent. All makes for a good alternative for lunch.

Extremely convenient parking. Best meat in town. Very knowledgeable butchers. Wonderful prime rib on Fridays. Some limitations on selection but this is what you’d expect in a small grocery store. It is more expensive. Most of the employees are 5 star with the exception of an elderly cashier who makes passive aggressive comments and gets defensive if you ask her to do something like double bag heavy items or separately bag something, so knowing this, I usually just not ask.

I do really enjoy stopping into the deli for lunch. the food is pretty good and its so easy from where my work is. Friday is prime rib day and it is seasoned and very tender. However they always run out of silverware and plates. 4⁄5 times I have stopped in for lunch I have had to eat out of a styrofoam dish. How do you eat prime rib out of a styrofoam to go box.?? It really makes it tough sitting there to eat out of a styrofoam box. Get your game together. Last time I was there the lady behind the counter apologized and told me the only had like 10 plates. Geesh!

Too expensive. Not enough organic selections. I asked at the meat counter if they had grass fed beef and they looked at me like I was crazy. But, they have a really awesome PB and jelly selection. That must be all you can afford if you live at Midtown and shop here.

My 4 star review is not based on grocery shopping. I frequently stop into the Wohlner’s Deli for lunch during the workweek and enjoy it. Their meal specials are fairly priced and you are able to choose from healthy options along with the not as healthy. Their baked chicken is great and and their daily sandwich special comes with a side and drink for just 5.99. I also frequent the meat counter. They have great meats, but you do pay for them. Wohlner’s is a nice and clean store and is a good fit for Midtown. Brat

It’s so nice this store is located right under the hotel. It makes for very easy access and means people save money and don’t have to get room service or eat out. We just went down to the market and bought some food to eat. They have wine, liquor, beer, organic, vegan, gluten free food options, and toiletries and other necessities. Perfect place to put a great store.

Great store in a great location. It’s super nice and has a pretty good selection for being just a neighborhood grocery store. Having said that, I wish there was more of your typical deli stuff and frozen items. Great beer and liquor selection. If you live in the area and need a few things, definitely a good place to go. Oh yeah, there was a random citizen who was detaining a guy who had just shoplifted in the vestibule area by the doors. Great job random citizen!

Great place for a quick grocery stop. I originally assumed it would be more expensive since it is attached to midtown plaza, but it is very affordable and comparable to any other grocery store.

Wohlner’s has a a great location and a top notch meat counter, deli and dining area. Still, everything is sooo expensive. That’s fine if we’re talking about the high quality meats, but when the produce, dairy and dry goods are in line with what you’ll find at No Frills but the prices are the same as Whole Foods, well, count me out. I hate to say it, but their original location at 52nd and Leavenworth was the best iteration of this store. I’d say I wish they were still there, but then we wouldn’t have J Coco and Legends. Ah well, I wish Wohlner’s the best. However, when a chain like Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s or even Hy-Vee finally ventures into midtown or downtown, I can’t see Wohlner’s being able to compete.

Nice. And super convenient if you are staying in the adjoining hotel. Video rental– check. Organic foods-check. Local groceries– check. Drinking wine while shopping-check.

Wohlner’s is an Omaha Establishment. I hated to see them move from Leavenworth to AkSarBen Village(we will never speak of that place again), but then moving a third time to Midtown Crossing should have done them in. But they have survived and are doing great. While I miss the quaint Leavenworth store, this compact place packs it in. The meat market isn’t as big, but I found the guys there very knowledgeable and friendly, especially talking about Andouille and Okra. One of the biggest plus of this site… Free(3 Hr) Covered Parking. Need I say more? You can have lunch at a local restaurant then go shopping here(remember to do it in this order) and not have to pay a cent for parking.

Again, I want to love Wohlers. I was a HUGE fan. I regularly went to their Leavenworth store. I live about 3 blocks from this store so it’s a no brainer that I would shop here. But EVERY time I shop here, they are out of something that I need. I think my first experience here was getting some rotten smoked salmon. One great summer meal my husband and I like is Wohlner’s smoked salmon, fresh mozarella, sliced cucumber and french bread. Right after they opened I went in and got all of those ingredients. Got home, assembled everything and the salmon was rancid. It was horribly disgusting. They were fine when I brought it back but what do you do when your dinner is ruined? Since then, I just feel like every time I go in there is a problem. I don’t find the employees nice or friendly. Typically the deli employees act like they are doing me a favor by helping me. The thing that bugs me the most is when I go and they don’t have something important. Like my «special» meal, usually they are out of fresh mozarella or french bread. The last time I was there I couldn’t find the french bread. They now have bread from Bread Oven which is great. I asked the deli guy where the french bread was. He said they no longer carry it which he said was upsetting a lot of people. Then I found it in a new area of the store. Tell your employees if you move something that popular! The prices aren’t good, the employees are sullen and they are always out of stuff. I don’t know why I keep torturing myself.

I still hold what I said in my previous review. I like the feel in there, and since I was last a shopper, it has expanded a bit to a deli and dining area which is great. I picked up the mama hoots salsa but still think jacobos is better… sorry mama hoots, you’re good too!

I wanted to visit the store at least 2 times before writing a review. Too often I would visit a place for the first timeand write a glowing review, only to have a bad experience during the second visit. Wohlner’s is «On Point», from customer service to the cleanliness of the store and being next door to my crib. Wohlners has real old school feeling. I am rating this a 4 because of the prices. However they do accept coupons and run specials which takes away the sting. They also offer you a choice between paper or plastic which shows that a hood store is doing thier part. If you purchase a Wohlner, s black shopping bag and use it during all your visits you will get an additional discount.

You Can’t Beat Wohlner’s Meat! I’ve been a fan of Wohlner’s for years. In fact, I’ve ordered some wonderful gift baskets from Wohlner’s. And, I’ve stopped by Wohlner’s plenty of times to grab some mid-week groceries. Last night, I was in the mood for filet mignon but didn’t want to spend $ 30 at a restaurant for it. I told the Wohlner’s butcher that I was in the mood for a really good filet. He picked out an 8-ounce filet mignon for me. It was perfect. Truly a restaurant quality steak. It far surpassed the quality of any filets I’ve purchased at a large grocery store. I will definitely be back for more. Thanks for the great steak, Wohlner’s!

PROS: *Free garage parking, in the cold or super hot summers covered parking ROCKS! *Location is great, close enough to downtown but far enough to avoid traffic, plus it’s close to interstate and hwy. *Decent wine and beer selection. *Pre-made food items to enjoy in their dining area. *Great meat selection, they even have bones and pig ears for the four legged friends. *Supporting a local Omaha business. CONS: *Next to nothing selection of organic produce. *Again, very little organic selection through each department in the store. The pros out weight the cons, the store is always clean and the employees are always happy and helpful.

Wohlner’s, what a godsend! I come to Omaha for work, Sunday — Thursday. I now have an apartment, but when I first started I was stuck in a hotel with nothing more than a fridge and a microwave. Wohlner’s was right across the street. Their prepared meals were easy… and delicious! I’ve since moved into Old Market Lofts and have visited Wohlner’s in Midtown. It’s a great location. Not as many prepared meals, at least on then day I stopped in, but frozen sausage!!! That’s homemade frozen sausage!!! Flavors too numerous to mention. What a delight! I had trouble catching the attention of someone at the meat counter, so I gave up. Hmm… This Wohnler’s has an excellent beer, wine and liquor offering. The checkout staff was so very friendly. More than likely I’ll stop at Hy-Vee for my basic needs, but if I want something special I will most definitely be stopping at Wohlner’s!!!

I love Wohlner’s. This store echos their other location in many ways(all the right ones). They also offer a mid-week farmer’s market currently(June 6 — August 8), every Wednesday from 4−7pm. Great spot for impulse grocery shopping, and if you’re staying at Element and don’t feel in the mood for a restaurant, this is a great option.
