Description

Specialties

Road to Home offers a compassionate solution for pet owners who are looking to euthanize their pet in the home. Our service allows you to choose a familiar, comfortable, and private location for this difficult transition. This gives you and your family the freedom to grieve openly, while reducing the level of discomfort and stress for you, your family, and your beloved pet.

History

Established in 2012.

Road to Home was started by two brothers, Dr. Adam Carter and Heath Carter, who previously spent years in the veterinary clinical setting. Dr. Adam practiced small animal medicine and Heath was in veterinary management. Through experience we felt that there was a better, more humane, and more comfortable manner for people to euthanize a beloved pet. We started Road to Home in order to try to fill this need, of elevating the care and compassion for both the pet and the owner, in one of the final acts they will engage in together.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Ever since I was accepted into veterinary school I planned to one day own a veterinary practice. This is my first attempt at hanging my own shingle. After graduating from Kansas State University school of Veterinary Medicine, I spent a number of years practicing small animal medicine. During that time I honed my knowledge of veterinary medicine but also felt the pain and sorrow often associated with a pets end of life. I decided to dedicate myself wholeheartedly to improving the euthanasia experience for both the pet and the owner. Road to Home, an in-home, end-of-life pet service was born of this idea of a more comfortable and relaxing experience.
