This place is a joke… the service is horrible. The owner thinks way to highly of himself if you don’t drink what he likes he might just ask you to leave. people don’t waste your time

Love scotch but like it with soda. When you order scotch at the Library they give you 2.5 ounces. That’s the portion you get. I asked for scotch and soda but I could not get one oz. Of scotch, ice and filled with soda in a single glass. I got my 2.5 ounces in a small glass, I got a glass of soda and ice and an empty glass filled with ice. You can’t pour the soda into the little glass of ice without making a mess. Frankly it was a real pain in the ass. I just wanted 1 oz. Of scotch in 1 glass with soda. They would not do it so I probably won’t be back. My wife got a gin and tonic. They filled the ice filled beer Glass ¾ with gin and ¼ of the Glass with tonic water. Far too strong. Now if you like scotch straight you can find a couple hundred kinds there. If you want what you want the way you want it it ain’t happening here

Amzing beer selection at this out of the way spot. I ordered a flight(which I loved). The manager came by and offered me a free sample based on my preferences. Best beer bar outside of Benson.

A dimly lit interior greets you upon entry. The walls are lined with over 250 bottles of Whiskeies. there are like every aged kind you can think of. Lagavulan? which age? Tasty Manhattans(Chris K, looking at you) and generally great cocktails come from the bar. A very bartender was on and he happened to be more of a Stout person whereas I am an IPA guy. 7 hop IPA was a great start. Then I noticed the Monk’s Café Flemish Red. Seriously one of my all time favorites. Add to the selection of beverages the music, Frank S and pals, good company, and this is a really solid bar.

This is a great bar. Excellent selection of tap beer plus an enormous selection of whiskey. Like bigger than the selection at Dundee Dell. It’s pretty glorious. The Library Pub is also clean and plenty spacious. Sit at the bar and chat with the day-drinking regulars and the bartender or grab some buds and spread out at a table. Don’t be fooled by the modest exterior. This ain’t no dive bar(although they will accommodate your Coors Light needs if necessary). I tried Zip Line’s 7-hop IPA and the Duet IPA from Alpine Brewing. Then I finished things off with a Manhattan, rye whiskey and dry. I could’ve stayed all night, but reason started to kick in once I realized it was only 5:30pm and I had a serious buzz going on. If I lived closer, I’d definitely make this«my bar.» But I don’t live nearby, so I’ll gladly put it in my regular rotation instead.

This is the perfect place to come try new whisky because the price is right. They have a massive collection of scotch organized by three-ring binders, and tons of other varieties as well. The service is laid back, as is the décor. The patrons are a mixed crowd– all friendly. I met three strangers who were also there alone that night and we had a heck of night playing darts and drinking. I will say the drinks are super strong, so if you’d like to taste your alcohol, might be better to grab a beer instead.

Where shall I start… The staff is A++, friendly, personable, and very knowledgable. The crazy-wide variety of alcohol can be slightly overwhelming, but the owner, Mark, would be more than happy to talk of the different kinds of scotch they carry. With 40+ beers on tap and even more in bottles, this bar is a great place for the frat guys, the hipsters, the happy-hourers, the sports enthusiasts, and the girls night out-ers.

For the longest time, whenever I mentioned to someone that I was a whisk(e)y geek, they’d invariably respond«so you’ve been to the Library Pub, right?» Sadly, I hadn’t. Once I corrected this oversight, I immediately understood why that was the unanimous reaction. In Omaha, this place is a mecca for whisk(e)y lovers. They have an enormous selection of Scotch, organized by region and presented in a tome that is both impressive and intimidating, with descriptions, tasting notes, and photos on every page. It can be a bit out of date(particularly the prices), but that’s to be expected when you’re managing an inventory as large as this. They also have a great variety of bourbons and American whiskies. There’s no «bible» to keep those organized, but they’re nicely presented in their own nook of the bar(a recent addition). The selection is seriously impressive and well curated, making it hard to choose a dram to try. Thankfully, with their pricing, you don’t need to stop at just one. The Library is incredibly fair with their prices, marking up their pours far less than just about any bar around. It’s not uncommon to find a rare Scotch that they’re pouring for less than half what another bar charges(if other bars have it at all). Oh, and their pours seem to be about twice as hefty as most bars offer — you may want to take an Über here…). The one downside to enjoying whiskies at the Library is that they don’t really have proper glassware, just oversized shot glasses. This might diminish the experience a bit for some people, but you know what? I just enjoy being able to try great whiskies at reasonable prices. Oh, I should also mention their beer selection. The draft list is not the largest, but it IS among the most varied in town, and usually jam packed with odd, unusual, or rare offerings. Several times I’ve looked it over and noticed a beer that I didn’t even realize was available in Nebraska. Just like with the whiskies, it’s hard to choose just one. Thankfully, the Library Pub offers flights… very, VERY generous flights. Rather than 4 – 5 four ounce pours(the standard for most bars, it seems), The Library offers flights in sets of six hefty pours(I think they must be nearly half a pint each). I strongly recommend getting a flight to share with a friend. This is easily one of my favorite bars in Omaha. If you like good beer and whisk(e)y, it’ll probably become one of yours, too.

What a great find if you like craft beer, scotch and or burbon. Mark the owner has to be one of the most knowledgable people I have met when it comes to Scotch and Burbon. They have to have one of the best selections in town for scotch and bourbon and they always have a very large craft beer selection on tap. The location is a little out of the way but worth the trip.

I wish when we stopped here it wasn’t after a long night of drinking, but had instead been stop one. If we had come here first, I could have taken the time to read through the beer list, and perhaps decided on a nice scotch for myself. But alas, the self proclaimed leader of our group ordered a round of brews for us and no scotch was had. At least I got to enjoy the ambiance of this place. Don’t let the fact that it is located in a strip mall throw you off, definitely the coolest bar I went to while I was in town visiting.

Been coming here for a decade and it will always be a staple. I can wear a dress or sweats and feel comfortable. Not too many places can do that. Everyone here is nice and the drinks are wonderfully strong and worth the money, I promise you. I will keep coming back and will always recommend this place for a good drink, great laughs, and a place to call a second home.

This would have been a 5 star, but whomever the bartender was he was HORRIBLE! Worst ever. Didn’t want to speak. Then when he did was rude. Didn’t know how to make a Manhattan. It’s a whiskey bar!!! Then wouldn’t run my credit card more than once. 100% rude. Plus charged more than price book said. Will not be back. Only because of this uninterested to serve, crappy barkeep! That being said — incredible selection and such a great idea and concept. Note to owner– when you take out the trash bring out that bartender, then I’ll be back! As will many others.

Absolutely the best beer and whiskey bar you could find in any market. Don’t believe me? Ask the local zymurgy club who were meeting here 2 of the 3 times I’ve been. The draw back? No food– plan accordingly.

Great place. A little out-of-the-way but if you’re in the Benson area it’s worth a stop if you’re into beers and especially scotch. I also learned here for the first time the magic of half pint glass(critical if you’re out on a beer tasting day). The bartenders were helpful and regulars seemed friendly. There was plenty of room — in the afternoon at least — for a group to pull together some tables and enjoy drinks and conversation among friends.

Awesome little pub! Great place to grab a craft beer with tons of local choices. If you can’t decide on a pint, get a flight. Genius. And the bartender Rob is possibly my favorite ever(or at least here in Omaha). He’s friendly, knowledgable and clearly appreciates craft beer but in an unpretentious way. I don’t normally review restrooms, but the litter box here is seriously immaculate.

Not a place I would have stumbled in on my own, but was on the Craft Beer tour and this place was a great stop! Nice bartenders, nice interiors, the cleanest bathrooms, EVER in a bar! Great craft beer selection. Tried the Isolation Ale and the Ayinger. Enjoyed them both!

Incredible place, incredible selection and as far as I am concerned, the best and most complete selection of Scotch anywhere. If you want a $ 300 shot or a gentle $ 10 shot, its here. Mark, the owner knows his shit. He is amazing and spends hours with me teaching me about Scotch and the regions everytime I go in. I love this place and if you are a who’s who in Omaha, you better make a stop by and say hi to Mark. Tell him Roland sent you and he will hook you up with a little tasting if you are a new client.
