I’m here for business and have gone here a few times for lunch and after work drinks. This bar and grill has great food and the best waitresses and bartenders! I’ve felt with 3 waitresses and all 3 has been the nicest ever and so nice! By far one gem in Omaha! I love billy froggs!

I was with a group of friends who had a bit of nostalgia for their younger years at this place so we came in for a drink. It was definitely a college bar with a divey feel. The décor is very eclectic and the music is loud. Definitely a place you wanna go after you’ve already had a few beverages for the evening! And don’t go until at least 11:00!

The décor is the only thing exciting at this restaurant. This was our first time here and I doubt we return. You have to pay for your drink separately then go up to the kitchen to order your own food all to have to pay again. If you’re like me, I carry a card bad had to run it twice in the same restaurant.

I have been coming to this bar for years and it continues to bring me back. I like the eclectic retro décor, the great bartenders, and the PONDSCUM! I cannot stop in without splitting the pond scum with a friend, it’s definitely a must try. You will want to split with a friend our two as it is full of alcohol and will knock you on your butt before you know what happened. This place is a staple in the Old Market, great drinks served fast and decent bar food. If you plan to stop by, your best bet is before 10PM. After that it will be very difficult to find a table or make your way to the bar for a drink. This bar is always packed. If you can sit on the patio I highly recommend it for the fresh air, personal space, and some of the best people watching. Plus you will get better service as the servers will come out to take your drink orders, sure beats waiting forever at the bar on a busy night.

One of my favorite dive bars. I only come here for a cheap drink and to people watch.

Lousy service on a Sunday afternoon. Waitresses and bartenders much more interested in socializing than service.

Fun local bar. Not quite a dive bar, but close! Good place to watch sports. Only there for after dinner drinks. Bartenders were friendly and fun. Good local beer selection.

I’ve never eaten here, so I cannot comment on that. But, we did come here one night for drinks. I enjoy unique, smaller dive bars. We started there early in the night, but by the end, it was packed. The bar and waitress staff were friendly and quick getting drinks. We played darts for a couple hours. Enjoyed the décor in the bar, quite a few conversational pieces.

We ended up eating in here after wandering around the area looking for a place to eat on a busy graduation night. Dive bar-ish, but appreciated the creative décor and greasy, satisfying burgers. People were drinking blue liquid and you could sense that it might get kind of crazy later on. I actually won a prize from the hand claw grabby machine, which was the perfect end to the evening.

Nice atmosphere. Interesting concept of ordering food at a window and wait for your naming being called. Good is average.

Stopped in Billy Frogg’s for lunch one day while exploring the Old Market. The bar is very much a bar and not some Gastro Pub or hipster bar. This is a BAR. And it’s a decent little bar. the staff was inviting, the space kind of funky and fun, the bar well lit but not TOO well lit for a bar, the bathrooms were way better than bar bathrooms should be. The server came to take drink orders and promptly informed us that we order food at the kitchen in the back and can pay there or open a tab and add it to that. We opted for the tab since we were also getting drinks. We went back and ordered our food(we both opted for the pork tenderloin sandwich and fries and got a side of cheese curds). We waited a short bit and our name was called to get our food. The pork tenderloin wasn’t huge(sometimes they are huge) but was a nice thickness, well breaded, meaty and tasty. The bun was soft and good(you know, nothing special but nothing that takes away from the meal). Fries were thin and crispy and perfectly fried and well seasoned. The cheese curds were also well fried and delicious. Waitress was on top of refilling drinks and getting us our tab at the end of the meal. The bar has some TVs and had sports on which is always a must. All in all, for lunch and dinner, they’ve got some decent bar food at a good price. If you are into drinking at a bar, seems like it would be a good place to do that too. All in all, nothing special but did the trick for us quite well.

Wow, this is a dump. We arrived and were told of a very complicated system of ordering drinks with the waitress, but good is ordered in the back. This is at 11 am on Saturday! Then tent wanted to tab out my sprite immediately– that sounded like a joke. We then looked over a menu, which didn’t look all that good, and then upon reading reviews, we booted out of there. What a waste time time.

Go see Donny, he’s the raddest bartender. Great service, good jokes, and delicious Coors Light.

Drinks and food are very average; service is really poor – I’ve given the bar a chance multiple times and have always been let down. Many better places to go in the Old Market, don’t spend your time there.

Billy Frogg’s is great for a quick bite or some beers with coworkers. When I’m in a hurry, I’ll stop there around 11:30am and I’m the only one there. They have The Reader and other free, local papers there to keep you busy while you wait for your food. The service is friendly, and the vibe is laid-back.

Good food and good drinks. They were pouring them just the way I like them… Dash of coke with a cup of crown. I ate the Philly and wowzers, it was delish! Nice folks all around here.

I can only review on the service of the drinks not the food. None of the persons I went here with got food. I was with a group of 8 and it was about 7 pm on a Wednesday night there were several persons in here enjoying drinks. I did not notice any food. We were greeted right away and the bartender asked in he could move two tables together for us. He got everyone drinks right away. I don’t drink but myself and another lady who is pregnant got waters. The bartender was very vitreous and kept our drinks full and checked on us often. The décor was cool. Lots to look at. The place was relatively clean and bathrooms were okay too.

I was in the Old Market area with my dad(from out of town) so we popped in here for lunch. THISPLACESEEMSNICEATFIRSTGLANCEBUTIT’S REALLYJUST A DUMP. I think there were as many staff as patrons but we still had to give our order to the cook in the back dungeon-like creepy area next to the bathrooms? Why can’t the barstaff come to the table and take our order like in a decent place? It’s not like it was busy. Overpriced bar food — $ 10 for a hamburger — complete with their«condiment bar» that looked like it had leftovers from the Cold War era. They do have some nice outdoor seating but several tables were occupied by obviously alcoholic hillbilly types. I’d say skip this place as a lunchtime venue but as a sixth stop on your late night pub crawl you can easily down a beer, puke in the corner, and no one will be the wiser.

I’m probably being a little too nice giving Billy Frogg’s a 3-star review. The name itself limits how many stars I could possibly give it. I should also note that we started our night with happy hour at Plank Seafood Provisions at 5:15pm and didn’t slow down all night. By the time our posse stumbled into Billy Frogg’s at 1am, it was probably the most suitable place to be for the condition we were in. So what’s the best thing to serve a gaggle of drunken beautiful women and the freakishly handsome men that accompany them at such an hour? Apparently, it’s called«swamp juice.» Of course, I’m old enough to have seen this same type of drink masquerading around under many other pseudonyms over the years: a pitcher full of 7 or 8 different rail liquors, fruit juices, and like 10 crazy straws for everyone to share.(Sorta like Omaha’s version of the fishbowl.) Oh, and a drink like this, at a place called«Billy Frogg’s» no less, wouldn’t be complete without the inclusion of several of those plastic toy frogs you can make hop in the air by pressing down on their butts and letting go. Yep, we managed to drink ourselves into the Third Circle of Hell. I would wake up the next morning with plastic frogs in my pocket pondering whether I was in the middle of a poorly-executed mid-life crisis or something. In all honesty, despite the fact that our group ranged in status from designated driver to fall-down-drunk(note: I was not on either extreme) I must say we had a great time at Billy Frogg’s. This is a testament more to the company we were in than to the bar itself, though the service was friendly and I did manage to remember to pay our bar tab *AND* not forget my credit card in the process. It’s also good to note that they have a TouchTunes jukebox, which I absolutely love. I have the app on my iPhone and I have no problem being that asshole who pays extra money to jump everyone else’s songs in queue to play all the songs *I* want to hear. This led to dancing. My train has really derailed when impromptu group dancing occurs and we’re not even in a nightclub.(Or anywhere for that matter.) Truth be told, I’m not too good to come back to Billy Frogg’s next time I’m in Omaha. :)

CREWMEMBER’S(AIRLINE) BEWARE: If there was a zero star this would be one of them. Let’s begin with the Ground Rules: 1) We come from years in the hospitality business and know what is «acceptable» and what is NOT. 2) We need to give credit where credit is due to the very polite/professional bouncer & attentive waitress(es). Sadly, this is where the good news ends… 3) We are just like you, presented with the opportunity and looking for a well-deserved adult beverage on a random Tuesday night. 4) DJWASHORRIBLE Cut to the chase: waitress comes by the table for last call, and we buy the last round. Feed the jukebox with a few extra tunes to finish on a high note(must include how the pantyskid bartender intervenes with my jute plays a crap song over my awesome picks). One minute later, we are suddenly told that everyone is forced out at 1:45AM for«bar time» and we are expected to bolt 15 minutes before closing 2:00AM(with full beers) at a moment’s notice. We politely asked if we could finish our beers and head out at 155am, quickly followed by the«owner» walking over to our table, grabbing our beers, and telling us, «just go now.» This is far from a witch-hunt. In fact, this is a very rare event to feel burned enough to take the time to post a genuine Good Samaritan heads-up to the next set of victims… Long story short, if you like dancing in the owner’s minefield, go have a drink at Billy Frog’s. If you prefer to legitimately relax & unwind, take the 10 extra steps to the next bar & be rewarded with finishing the beer you ordered at last call by 2am, as advertised. Best of luck! P. S. Does it mean the owner stole our money if she kicked us out before finishing our beers?
