Beyond the Vine specializes in upscale fresh flower arrangements for all occasions including holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, parties, corporate events, weddings, and funerals. Our home décor line includes accent furniture, lamps, permanent botanicals, silk arrangements, artificial trees, framed art prints, candles, throw pillows, rugs, throws, and unique gift items. We deliver to the greater Omaha, Nebraska area and we can ship our products anywhere in the world.

History

Established in 1985.

One year after graduating college, Rose McCormick bought the flower shop she has worked for, Younkers Flowers, at the Center Mall 42^nd and Center. In 1987 she opened a second store inside Younkers Department Store at Crossroads Mall at 72^nd and Dodge. Rose kept her business there until 2003, when she moved her operations to 130^th and West Center Road, closing the Younkers location. She also changed the store’s name to «Beyond The Vine.» The 4000 square foot showroom is a delight for all the senses.

As a young girl, my mother would take me to the Old Market district in downtown Omaha for pottery classes, art, and other cultural experiences. Along the way, I discovered a glimpse into my world… the plant store on the corner. I could smell the earthy aroma as soon as I hit the doorway and I wanted to linger all night. I knew then at age 10 that I was in my element.

I started collecting plants and my passion grew. At 15 years old started my first job at a flower shop in a department store called Brandeis. I would talk about my dream of owning a plant store, and the owner told me I should own a flower shop instead because plant stores were not meant to last. He said people always needed flowers in their lives. After all, every occasion we celebrate somehow involves flowers; births, deaths, weddings, birthdays, etc. The circle of life would keep my business going.
