We offer both «traditional» and cremation funeral services. Today, more and more families are moving away from what we think of as a «Traditional Funeral.» People are choosing to plan ceremonies or tributes that are more reflective of the person and best fit the lifestyle of the family. That’s why we encourage and work with every family to personalize the service to honor and celebrate the life of their loved one.

We also offer a full line of bronze or granite grave markers, memorials or benches through our Monuments by Hudak-O’Shea division. We will assist you in selecting a suitable marker and arrange for timely and professional installation.

History

Established in 1998.

The Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home is located just outside Scranton in Olyphant, Pennsylvania. Our Funeral Home was established in 1998 to primarily serve the Mid-​Valley communities of Archbald, Blakely, Dickson City, Eynon, Jessup, Olyphant, Peckville and Throop. We promise to provide every family with the most professional, compassionate and dignified service possible. Meet the Business Owner

Donna O.

Business Owner

The funeral home was founded by its co-​owners, Donna M. Hudak-O’Shea, licensed funeral director/​embalmer and her husband Patrick J. «P.J.» O’Shea.

Donna was born in Peckville and lived in the Mid-​Valley area (Olyphant, Blakely, Peckville) until 1982. A 1978 graduate of Valley View High School, Archbald, a 1982 graduate of the University of Scranton, Scranton, PA, with a BS in Public Administration, she also graduated from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, Inc. (AAMI), New York, New York in September 1984. She received her National Board Certificate from the Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards of the United States, Inc. that same month. She has been involved actively in funeral service since 1986.

Patrick J. O’Shea, co-​owner and former resident of Lake Ariel, was a 1981 graduate of the University of Scranton, with a BS in Economics and Finance and a 1988 graduate of New York University, Stern School of Business with an MBA in Finance.
