Widely regarded as one of the top programs in the country, Matt Heron Fly Fishing is an all-​inclusive fly fishing school and outfitter located just minuets from Lake Tahoe.

Nationally recognized for it’s school and teaching curriculum, most classes take place daily at the beautiful Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Valley, California. RSC is a Five Star, Four Diamond luxury resort.

Our outfitter program and guide trips are based out of the town of Truckee, with most trips taking place on the Truckee River and Little Truckee River right in our own back yard.

Matt Heron Fly Fishing is a school and outfitter in the Truckee/​Tahoe area. His school is widely regarded as one of the best in the country, offering multiple classes’ daily, spring through fall on private stocked ponds in Squaw Valley.

His outfitter network is permitted to guide nearly every body of water in the greater Reno/​Tahoe region. His extensive team of guides and instructors is one of the best and most experienced on the west coast.

Matt’s background includes being an IFFF Certified Casting Instructor, NOLS Patagonia graduate, IFFF Angling and Aquatic Educator, hosting saltwater trips worldwide, and working for the Fly Fishing Film Tour.
