The Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative dedicated to providing the best in service and products to our membership. We offer a full range of financial services including a wide variety of loan products, our famous Oly Gold Credit Card, an unheard of 7.52% Annual Percentage Rate on the first $ 500 on youth savings (and 7.52% APR on on the first $ 500 on adult savings too, with some restrictions) our ever-popular free coin counting machine and of course checking, savings, and business accounts plus so much more. History
Established in 1955.
O Bee has a rich history connected to the Olympia Brewery. In 1896 Leopold Schmidt, a German immigrant from Montana, founded Capital Brewing Company at Tumwater Falls in Tumwater, WA. In 1902, it became The Olympia Brewing Company and chose the slogan «It’s the Water» to promote its flagship product, Olympia Beer.
«O Bee» stood for Olympia Beer. The ‘r’ was dropped so the company didn’t have to be limited to just beer. In 1955, Ted McGill, a worker in the bottle house, started a credit union for Olympia Brewery employees and families. He called it «O Bee Credit Union,» and the name stuck.
In the 60s Olympia Beer gained popularity and was featured in films with actors like Dustin Hoffman, Paul Newman, Jack Nicholson & Clint Eastwood. Brewery employees continued to count on O Bee Credit Union for their financial well-being.
Today, anyone living or working in Washington State can join O Bee Credit Union. It has evolved into one of the most modern financial institutions in the country.

O Bee Credit Union is owned by its members. It was formed in 1955 to meet the unique financial needs of its members/owners. The Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative dedicated in providing the best in service and products to its membership. We do so by creating a safe environment in order to enhance the financial well-being our many members, and owners.
