Encore Chocolates & Teas

This is an EXCELLENT chocolate and tea shop! This place is kind of divided up into two in this kind of tiny «mini mall» of sorts. There is the main shop where you can get buy a vast selection of wonderful teas which I had two different samples of (which were delightful) as well as a nice selection of artisan packaged chocolates, mainly chocolate bars. Many of the brands I haven’t seen before but a considerable number of brands I have and have wonderful, indulgent memories from previous purchases.
The other part of the business which I didn’t see until I left the shop and just a bit further back into the «mini mall» they also seem to have a stand where you can have prepared tea from a menu. Since I already had a few samples I didn’t go back to order anything or if there is much of a tea room back there or if it is for «to go» orders only but it will be something I will be mindful of next time I am nearby and want some great tea!

It’s so nice to have a real tea store in Oly. The Tea Lady is sorely missed. This shop caters more to loose teas than did the TL and, therefore, the global variety is more limited. But very high quality! They also offer tea pots and specialty tea steeping goods.
I’ve not tried the chocolates (will power!!) but there is a large selection of gourmet chocolates.
Since this store opened, they’ve taken over the tea/​coffee stand in the enclosed court yard and are serving the teas they sell.
Why not a 5^th star? Downtown Olympia is a bugger for parking and over-​burdened with street vagrants to weed through.

My girlfriend and I wandered into this shop while exploring downtown Olympia on a cold and drizzly day. Everything about this store warmed us right up, from the hot tea samples to the exceptionally friendly service. We spent a solid half hour at the sample wall smelling the extensive variety of teas that are available. Then we filled out a card with our favorite selections, wrote down the number of ounces we wanted to order, and brought it up to the counter where our order was quickly filled. It was a dangerously efficient process that made it all too easy to buy an excessive amount of tea!
It’s also worth noting that the shop has a small but quality collection of affordable tea accessories such as steeping baskets, teapots, disposable tea bags, and storage canisters. And the other half of the store boasts a substantial chocolate selection!
If you consider yourself a tea person, make sure to stop into this little local shop. If you don’t consider yourself a tea person, stop by anyway — you will probably be one by the time you leave.

Very fun to see a new tea shop in Olympia! With that said, I was disappointed by the lack of training they provide to their employees as they had no idea what I was talking about when I said I was looking for a «CTC Assam.» Also points off for leaving their teas in clear containers in sunlight. They do have lots of chocolates though so…

Awesome shop! Best place to get Organic Chocolate and Tea in Thurston County. They have a huge selection and are very helpful in finding what your looking for. The tea is sold by weight instead of coming in prepackaged bags. You can taste the difference!
I have tried many of the teas and lots of types of chocolates. I like all of them. They also sell tea pots for you house or on the go. Also a great place to get gifts.

Who doesn’t love chocolate? It’s a great shop with an extensive assortment of chocolate and teas and a few other sweets like caramel.
The store reps definitely know their chocolate. And I’ve been here more than once. I especially appreciate them sharing the history and background of the chocolate. It is pricier than the mass produced Mars brand but only because they sell high quality chocolate. Goes down smooth in your mouth. I do feel as though I’ve had a taste of Europe. Mmmm.
Surprisingly they were still open past 5pm on a Sunday. Thank you for enriching our downtown with this delectable store!

This is a great store. They stock a huge range of loose-​leaf teas, almost anything you could want. You can smell any of the teas in small jars before you place an order as well as try their daily samples. Likewise, their chocolates are excellent and varied. There’s something for almost anyone in the chocolate section. Even when I only stop in for tea, I usually see a chocolate I need to try.
The best part are the owners, however. They’re both very friendly and love to chat, either about their products or anything else. (They’ve lived in the area for quite a while, so they’re great sources for tips there.) And they clearly love what they sell; they won’t stock products that they don’t like or that they think aren’t a fair price for the customer. It’s hard to find such passion in businesses, but it really does make for a much better shopping experience.

I’ve been shopping in Olympia quite a few times, but had not discovered this quaint little store until last week. This place has it all — an amazing selection (of teas and chocolates — many of them local which I love), incredibly knowledgable and friendly owners, and good prices. I bought gifts for a friend here and need to come back soon to get more tea for myself. I highly recommend Encore Chocolates & Teas!

Wonderful! Tons of options! Lovely owners. Very local, healthy, natural and unique brands of chocolate. They have a smell wall so you can see and smell the loose leaf teas to help your decision!
I will definitely be back!

Nothing bad I can say about this place. Describing word would be totally and utterly adorable. The staff is knowledgable and has wonderful suggestions of chocolates or teas to try. They treat you like family which I appreciate because it makes the experience comfortable and relaxed. They are patient with children and will feed them samples with parental permission. It’s like a mini Willy Wonka type store in there… Just don’t lick the walls… They won’t taste like snozzberries… Unless you’ve taken some good drugs… I mean this is Olympia.

This shop is a gem and every time I visit I learn something new about the world of tea from the owner. He is so kind, knowledgeable and clearly loves what he does.
The price for loose leaf tea is very reasonable and a 2 oz bag is between 3 and 5 dollars. And that provides about 40 cups of tea. And the quality is incredible. It’s fun to just pop in and smell all the different ones. You simply write the number of the jar and he packs them up.
My favorite are the red honeybush and oolong teas. We also purchased a chocolate chai which when placed in a small pot with almond vanilla milk and heated for 15 minutes is incredible. I’ve always loved tea — everything about it. Just the simple act of preparing it is peaceful and meditative.
You can also find specialty and unique chocolate here as well. He carries a variety of chocolates and chocolate bars from independent chocolatiers around the country and in the Pacific Northwest.
So stop in and enjoy!

We stumbled upon the store a couple months ago and have changed our coffee habit to a much cheaper tea habit! :)
The store is wonderful with two tea samples for you to try every day, a huge selection of teas to choose from, tea accoutrements, an amazing variety of chocolate and caramels (many locally sourced), and wonderful staff to help you with your selections.
I highly recommend you stop in and just take a look around — have a sample — maybe pick up a chocolate or a small bag of tea. It’ll set you back less than your morning coffee!

This place is such a great find! The people who work here are very friendly and knowledgeable. They are great at helping you find the perfect teas and chocolates and gave a me short lesson on steeping teas, which teas you can mix, how long to steep and more. I bought a bag of mixed chocolates as well as a steeper. I’ll be going back for sure for some loose leaf tea and possibly some Christmas gifts for my friends and family (gourmet chocolates!).
