The chief has done a lot for this place the last year. The menu option are much more diverse and made with fresh ingredients. This is not a typical government lunch room. I’m glad they are here. A favorite is the noodle bar.

If you’re near the capital you can’t beat bobby jayz for lunch. They are quick, affordable, and tasty. The chef murph miner makes his bread fresh every day, which makes his good-sized sandwiches that much better. Our company gets takeout from bobby jayz at least once a week and we have never had any complaints.

The café is Amazing, & delicious food at a good price! Bobby Jayz has also done catering for me at a charity Masquerade Ball, and it was fabulous! Everyone commented on how great his hors d’oeuvres were! He even smoked salmon the night before/that morning to make sure it was fresh. I could not be more happy with Chef Murphy and his excellent staff. If you are looking for a caterer, trust me, you need to contact him!

My co-worker and I came down for the ham and cheese omelet today. Her’s was missing the ham, both omelets had raw egg inside. Mine tasted spoiled. I fought the urge to throw up. The We both threw our breakfast in the trash. We let the chef know. He said the eggs were fresh snd he shredded the cheese himself but that he would talk to «the girl». Meanwhile I paid for the breakfast which I could not eat. 6 months ago the food was consistently good, not so now.

The food is okay. It is in a government building(OB-2), so really the only people eating there are the captured employees in the building above. They used to have a wood-fired personal pizza which was to die for. Seriously, but they priced it at $ 5, and said they couldn’t make money from it. Everything else at the café is $ 7+, so move the price of the pizza to $ 7!!! By far the best thing they ever had. Sandwiches in general are mediocre and expensive, but their Rueben is pretty good, one of the better ones in Olympia. The real downside is their disinterest in allergies. Nothing is labeled, no allergy warnings on the baked goods for the major allergens, like peanuts, and worse, none of the seemingly extremely temporary staff have a clue as which is the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie and which is the chocolate chip cookie. If you have allergies, just avoid… If you like Reubens, then enjoy! If your a pizza fan like me, too bad.

Bobby JayZ is the best deal for lunch on the Capitol Campus. The menu is diverse and very affordable. Thursday special is baby-back ribs and they are excellent — fall-off-the-bone tender and flavorful. I would also recommend the Reuben — arguably the best in Olympia. Yes, it is in a state building, and yes, it feels like a cafeteria, but the food and the price can’t be beat.
