The Salon 1.0 – Paul Mitchell Focus Salon

As a guy with longer hair it is has been a challenge for me to find a salon that can get it right. This place was perfect. Great service, I mean, they even give you beverages on the house while you are there. Katrina did a great job and I will definitely be going here from now on!

My hair is my baby. I’ve spent the better part of the last 2 years growing it out. When I came to the salon, it was mostly one length and very thick. I asked for a little trim and to see a bit more movement with a little layering. I left looking just like a COCKER SPANIEL. Long in the back, big floppy dog ears on the sides. I asked for a little texturizing to help blend the situation. Since my hair is thick, it tends to lay heavy. The stylist blew me off and snipped a little just to appease me. Wow. This haircut really only looks good when I have the time to curl it.
In conclusion, I really look forward to the next 12 months of growing out I will have to do. Just when I felt happy with my hair… Thank you to the salon 1.0 for keeping me humble.

First I would like to say this is a very nice salon. When you walk in they offer you a drink, have you sit in a nice waiting area to wait for your stylist, and then if it’s your first visit they give you a tour of the salon. Before you have your haircut you get a paraffin hand treatment, then your hair is washed. My complaint, however is with my particular stylist named Chris. He is very inexperienced and I knew this going in. He is very knowledgeable about the Paul Mitchell products that the salon has for sale, but he seems very inexperienced even for a new stylist. I showed him a picture of the cut I wanted as soon as I sat in the chair. I know that you can never get exactly what a picture shows, but what he did to my hair doesn’t just account for slight differences in different people’s hair. It was so bad that a more experienced stylist had to come bail him out. He had been working on me for an hour and a half at that point, an Jenna, the other stylist came in an fixed me up like a true professional. I can’t say that I think Chris should have more training, because I think that being a stylist just isn’t the right fit for him. All that being said, he was very sweet and he really did try his best. As for the salon as a whole, they truly did care that I left happy, and I was as happy as I could be given the fact that my cut wasn’t what I went in for.

Salon needs drastic update. Little over the top with the explaining the different levels, and prices. My stylist did not seem confident in cutting technique, and needed advice on the coloring selection. Also, her use of words like mature to describe my needs is something that did not appeal to me. As we age we do not need to be reminded of it by our stylist. I think everyone has their preferred style at any age.
My over all review of this salon is to stick with the more experienced stylist, and let the new ones mature more. It just wasn’t a good fit for me. Too much trying to be like a high end salon with a small town outdated facility.

I’ve been coming here for years, both Jenna and Mandy are the best! I love love love the color options, and the creative ideas they come up with for me.
They definitely have options for every budget and style. Plus who doesn’t love a complimentary drink? ;-)

A long, long time Paul Mitchell «head: I stumbled upon this salon on a business trip via the Mitchell website. Crystal did my color. She does an excellent job and is very pleasant. I would highly recommend Crystal.

Worst haircut of my life and I am 43! This salon seems to be more like a poorly run styling school. Stylist are inexperienced and should not be working without a trainer. It took 2 hours for my haircut and no other customers or stylists were in the salon the entire time! Very strange. I will NEVER go back.

Had my color done today by Crystal, who was just amazing! I told her what I wanted and had shown her only one picture, she explained to me in full detail the services I would be getting. She even asked me what I wanted to spend and made sure I stayed within my budget with a result that was beyond my expectation.
To give you an idea of my hair type and texture, I am a mixed chick (black&white) with relaxed and colored hair. My hair came out silky and smooth.
They also offer free hand paraffin, which is really nice. I will definitely being going back here for my next color even if it means driving from Coral Springs. Bridgett was also great and a pleasure to work with.
