Who knew you can check in at College. Well noted I’ll be a regular in no time lmao. But yeah I have a love/​hate relationship with this school. They put me through a lot of shit but that’s life right? And I’m sure every college does the same thing. They have a degree and you have the money, supply and demand.
But it honestly isn’t that bad for the size of the college. It has way more potential then what they are working with right now. It’s a D3 school and they don’t have a football team. That’s cool, I don’t bump into dudes wasted off their own egos.
The party scene gets boring over time but as a freshman it’s pretty lit. The college is pretty affordable between 7 – 8,000 if you live in NY and the classes are 4 credits each. Professors are great and most of them are on rate my professor.
I don’t eat the food on campus, be smart and bring your own food. You’re broke that’s why you’re in college. But if you want to there’s a mall a few miles out there’s plenty to eat around here and if you don’t have a car don’t fret. They have a shuttle bus running.
I pretty know much everything about this school. I’ll see if I can leave a review every week covering something I forgot to mention the following week. Good luck picking the right college for you !

Oh man. Two 1-​star reviews. Harsh! Loll This school isn’t THAT bad. I know. I spent 4 ½ years here.
Pro’s:
–Large, quiet campus. 2^nd largest on Long Island, 2^nd only to Stony Brook in acres.
–4 day school weeks. They only have classes Mon-​Thurs, though a handful of Science majors will have lab on Fridays.
–For the most part, understanding and hard working faculty, who do try to provide a good and competent college experience.
–The past 2 years, the school has been renovating its academic buildings and facilities.
–The campus is located a short 5 minute drive from restaurants and convenience stores in nearby Hicksville.
Cons:
–A handful of professors who make college absolutely miserable for their students. (from personal experience)
–As one reviewer put it nicely, f**king Nazi campus police who write tickets to the drivers who try to obey the speed limits and let the road ragers go.
–Awful shuttle bus service who almost never follows the normal bus schedules.
–Come nighttime, lots of wildlife in the area. deer, rabid raccoons, possums, skunks, snakes, etc.
–The dorms are poorly maintained, and many times, in the middle of the night, some random inebriated (OOH SNAP, BIG WORD) idiot will pull the fire alarm, prompting everyone to evacuate and campus police to come, physically check all the rooms and then let everyone back inside. This happens AT LEAST 1−2x a week.
Simply put, this is a «commuter» school. 75% of their students do not dorm. From Friday to Sunday, this place is a ghost town.
The college has an excellent Education program, as well as, competitive Psychology, Criminology, and Accounting programs.
I graduated in 2012, and I can say that I didn’t waste 4 ½ years here. loll

For SUNY at Old Westbury…
A friend of mine requested for a sign language interpreter for his classes. He visited the disability office three times in three weeks, and in each of those times, the coordinator FORGOT about it!
I mean, D-​A-​M-​N! Talk about breaking the federal law when it’s your job to remember them and to follow-​up on those requests!

SUNY School in the middle of nowhere.
What fucking genius put the dorms of the college campus as far as f$%^ing possible from the main road into the place?
Feeling bad because one of my waiters had just missed his bus /​train combo, I volunteered to drive him back to his dorm on this campus.
First, you get interrogated by the Nazi at the front gate. After turning over my license, first born child and library card to that a-​hole, I drive this poor schlub back to the dorm.
There is about 50 acres between the main road and the dorms and, as I pointed out to the gate Nazi, I could have just hopped the fence if I wanted to get in there…
They run a shuttle bus but not all that often and all you see are these sorry ass kids hoofing it back to the dorms– how the hell can you maintain a buzz after walking all that way?
I say tear that school down and build some goddamn affordable housing.
