Fairways Restaurant At Dunegrass

I’ve eaten at the bar a few times and it’s good: standard pub grub and a nice selection of beer. I would come back for a nice night out.
I came here once for a wedding reception. First: the food was cold: it had been cooked so far in advance it was cold and the pasta dish was drying out. The bride flipped out and went from table to table telling us that had she known the food would be so terrible she never would have booked the place and Dunegrass ruined her special day.
Second: the wedding invitation said there was a choice if chicken, pork or vegetarian. The chicken they gave me had seafood stuffed in it (I’m allergic to seafood). I couldn’t tell by looking at it, however, because it was so dark in the dining room I could barely see my plate. I took mine back and the server told me it was my fault for ordering the seafood option. I didn’t order seafood, but the couple is partly to blame for not being very specify on their invitation. They replaced my seafood stuffed chicken with a very sad mushroom risotto.
Third: the staff seemed quite perturbed that someone in a wheelchair was attending the reception. The building has one wheelchair ramp, not at the banquet room, but down the hall. The door at the top of the ramp was locked and we had to find our way through the building to unlock it from the inside.
Finally: I also came here once for a fund raising golf outting and silent auction for the local ballpark. I’m not sure where our money went (all to greens fees?) because our meal consisted of chafing dishes full of precooked hamburgers and hotdogs and some buns. Not what you’d expect at charity golfing event and silent auction.

Seth mentioned this is a great place for a wedding. Back in 2008 my little sister got married here. The ceremony was outside and inside the banquet room was her reception.
It was very well run, the room was large, the deck was great for cocktails. The food was meh.
If you care mostly about the size and view this is a good place. If you are a foodie or just want to have good wedding food I would look elsewhere. What we where served at the tasting was 1000 times better then day of.
