In my mind, there are two types of beach accommodations: Type 1: You awaken amid the airy folds of summer linen to the soft kiss of sunlight peeking through your whitewashed shutters. Coffee is steeping in a French press in the kitchen, a variety of fresh scones await in a nearby basket. Type 2: You need somewhere with an indoor toilet to crush 40s with your pals and shake the sand out your bikini at the end of a long day in the sun. Copley LaReine is definitely a Type 2 beach accommodation. Given that, it’s a mid-grade Type 2 beach accommodation. Yeah, the floor is tilted like the crazy cheap frat house you lived in in college. Yeah, the bed is uncomfortable and makes noise if you look at it funny. But that VIEW, oh that view! With the ocean beckoning right under your nose, who could say no to this place? Well, maybe I could… but for a night or two, it will get you where you need to be: THEBEACH.

Stayed here this summer for 4 nights. The ocean view is fantastic, it was great getting up and just walking down to the beach. The owner was really friendly and answered all our question, including directions and information on different attractions around the area. The room itself was pretty standard. The beds weren’t super comfortable, but they got the job done. They were clean and had more than enough blankets. The floors were carpeted, which was sometimes a problem because of all the sand we tracked in from the beach, but they were vacuumed daily so it didn’t bother us too much. The couple bad things I can say are that the windows were really dirty and streaky. It was hard to see the view outside! I don’t know if that’s the oceans fault, or if they just weren’t cleaned, but it was gross looking. Also the air conditioner was extremely old and loud.
