I highly recommend Nashville Jam Café. Country style restaurant, great food and even better service. The home made Come Back Sauce is worth the trip. I’m going to try their breakfast in the morning!

The food is so good! We went this morning and that’s the second time we’ve been. Previously We had the pimento cheese omelet and shrimp and grits. Today we had the French toast and ponuts. They were amazing!!! Can’t wait to go back!

Had breakfast here at Christmas and it was great. Lunch did not disappoint! My wife had the shrimp and grits and they were very good-she thought it would be better with less bbq sauce. I had the house burger and it was great! The place is small but the service was big. Finally a good restaurant close to home!

Finally made it here. Wow! You have to try it. Trendy but quaint atmosphere. Casual, great food. What we had…2 egg breakfast with a waffle hash potato, bacon and biscuit, Bourbon Street omelet with hashbrown casserole. The eggs were real and cooked perfectly and the omelet had large shrimp throughout. The waffle hashbrown was crunchy and a great side for the eggs. Heck, it would have been great with the hashbrown casserole on top. It was all so good. The biscuits were about 3.5″ high and oh, so good. We tried a few jams and for breakfast dessert(yep we had dessert) we had the bronut which is their version of a beignet(but larger) topped with their strawberry jam(see pic). It was what breakfast is meant to be. I’m so very glad this place popped up on my FB feed. And a little thankful that it’s a bit of a drive for me or I’d be there too much.

Love the location of this place. Not a lot of restaurants around this particular neighborhood. I love love the shrimp appetizer. The tuna Tacos are quite amazing. My husband loved the Greek burger. It all depends on what’s for special and what’s available. Great place.

This place has earned the hype! The catfish tacos are awesome and the fried green tomatoes are the best I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to come back!

The shrimp and grits, rooster shrimp, and pimento cheese and fried green tomato egg rolls are a 5. The sampler platter is a 4 because its got 5’s and 3’s on it. Like the potato skins were ok and the turnip green country ham egg roll was a 2. The fried green tomatoes by them self are still kinda firm so they get a 3. The outside of this place makes you wonder if you should go in. It has a sign outside that looks like something from a hillbilly horror movie and the outside of the building looks kinda dumpy. But the inside is kinda awesome. Its like day and night. It has a modern log cobin type feel and the staff are really nice. There are ots of interesting jams, caramels, homemade pie and cake. The food is hit and miss but when it hits its amazing. I want to go back soon for breakfast.

Do you ever find a lil gem but don’t want to share it anyone, cause everyone and their mother(or mother in law) will go, well this is the place. I’ve worked in the restaurant biz from catering for Jody Faison’s, and worked at each of his establishment until I moved onto Ruth Chris(great hours) until graduating from college(yes, this can be done). Anyway, back to the Nashville Jam, luckily we missed the Sunday breakfast crowd but unfortunately, missed breakfast however they were kind enough to give what fabulous biscuits they had left(like mom use to make from scratch, fluffy white, golden brown on the top) our server Olivia, was very pleasant and terrific as well which I must mention was extremely refreshing. They have a wonderful assorted menu at lunch and of coarse the special on the board today, Ahi tuna tacos with Cole slaw, and great selection of sides, we opted to order of the menu, my sister had shrimp meal(grilled or fried) she chose fried as a special treat, the roasted brussel sprouts, black eye pea salad. She always takes home half the food to watch her weight(not this time) and medical conditions which Olivia inquired as to help direct her with what she required and they could accommodate(so unusual nowadays). My other sister had the catfish which came out hot and absolutely perfect(I savoured the lil bite she granted me). The spouts as well(amazing melted in my mouth) the turnip greens and Kale was perfect side order. Today I decided to go a lil on the lite side with, roasted sprouts, kale&greens, and amazing Gouda cheese Grits all were the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. The owner came over and sat a while to make sure everything was to satisfactory and spoke of the place being an old beer market, many skipped days at school were spent out at the lake(across the street) and yes since nothing was out there at the time we were able to purchase our lil six pack and enjoy lake time while we were suppose to be in school back in the day, luckily our parents never found out or I would not be writing this critique now(being six feet under). I just want to say if you ever have the opportunity to go to this lil gem, it’s well worth the pleasant lil side of old hickory(Mt Juliet side) I highly, highly recommend. I will def return to this establishment much more often. However, they are closed on Monday & Tuesday so Plz be aware. The homemade jams(avail for purchase) are off the hook. I bought several to go. I hope everyone is able to support a local, fresh&fabulous lil gem and they stay forever. Good luck gentleman but somehow I don’t think you need it! Thanks for a cute lil gem.

We just moved here this week. I had a good feeling about this place when we passed it on the way home, so we stopped in for breakfast in the morning. Yes! Great call! I got the Shrimp and Grits, and the boyfriend got the PB& J Chicken Biscuit(pimento cheese, bacon, and jam). We also ordered a short stack to try, and hash brown waffle side. The shrimp and grits were phenomenal, I would highly recommend. The biscuit was GREAT! Heavy and rich, but still something to treat yourself to once in awhile. The pancakes were very good, and the hash brown waffle was very good(though a bit over-greasy, but not sure how they could avoid that really). Cute little atmosphere, great service, just a really fun place! I can’t wait to try again for lunch/dinner, and will definitely be a place where I bring my family when they come to visit!

I know Unilocal wants reviews with lots of words, but my review is simple: Go Eat Here! Fantastic fresh and local business. I had the philly omelet and coffee and it was great. Fantastic jams and wonderful service. Support local and eat here! Do not let the place go away. They also have a great story to tell.

Please don’t judge the place by the décor. The view from the road may give a false impression. Its locally owned, so be patient if you get there during a busy time. Seems to be better known for their breakfast, but we decided to try the dinner menu. I had the catfish platter with fries and white beans. The catfish was fried well, and the tartar sauce was excellent. Fries were crispy, and the white beans were seasoned just like homemade. Others in my party had the chicken tacos and shrimp tacos. They were very pleased with their meals as well. I will definitely go back, and i look forward to a breakfast meal.

Went for Sunday breakfast and the place with the famous biscuits was out of biscuits. Very disjointed. The plain paper menu was covered in food that was still wet. DISGUSTING. The place is ugly in and out. Trash and left over building materials on the outside with a very remodeling attempt in and out. This building has been a dump for many many years and it’s sad to see it still is. No restaurant has ever survived here

I want to love this place, after all, I’ve eaten there 5+ times. I keep thinking they’ll work out the growing pains but each time it has been further downhill. The problem here lies mostly in service(the waitresses act like you are a burden and also never take away any of the dirty plates). However, it should be noted that whenever the owners are working, they are extremely helpful and friendly and doing the best they can. The last time we had the Sunday evening B team. I ordered the wedge salad that was lukewarm when it came out. It’s pretty key for that type of salad to be ice cold but I prayed the blue cheese wouldn’t be bad and ate it anyway. Hubby ordered the ribs special. His ribs were as dry as beef jerky and inedible. As I finished up my shrimp and grits(so-so compared to the out of the park deliciousness when they first opened) and the kids their greasy plain kids burger, we kindly pointed to the waitress that was something definitely wrong with his order. She apologized but you could tell she didn’t know what to do and didn’t offer to take it back or away. When we got our bill, she explained that she took $ 5 off. $ 5? The food was burned and dry. Our $ 60 meal for 2 adults and 2 kids was disappointing. This place has so much potential. It’s mostly in need of training and getting the kitchen back to when it first opened. I’ll keep coming back hoping it gets better. Hubby has crossed it off his list.

Delicious! I had the two egg breakfast with sausage and hash brown casserole, and the portion size was just right. At $ 8, the price was pretty reasonable, too. We got a sampler of several jams, and I liked them all. The peach brandy jam was my favorite. They’re located a bit out of the way, and we had to wait a few minutes to be seated(a large group had come in before our party of three). But, it was worth both the drive and the wait. I’m looking forward to coming back again!

Great potential, poor execution. I had high hopes which I left on the pile of food I didn’t eat. I was excited to see Nashville Jam Co. had a restaurant. I’ve had their jam before and it is awesome, so we decided to head over for breakfast today. I ordered a Mediterranean Frittata(a special) and a biscuit basket, which came with jams to sample. I am giving the one star because of the biscuit basket, the only saving grace from our meal. The Frittata looked lovely enough when it arrived, had feta cheese, sausage, spinach, etc, however, when I took a bite I realized the bottom of the frittata was actually black. Not just a little burnt, but BLACK. The husband ordered Daniel’s Big Breakfast — 2 eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, Gouda grits, a biscuit, and a hash brown waffle(which is hash browns cooked on a waffle iron). The ham was dry as California, the bacon was overcooked — not the good, crispy overcooked mind you — it was more the«I need a serrated knife to cut this» overcooked. The eggs were also not surpisingly at this point, overcooked. The hash brown waffle was so hard — you’d better hope you have a good dental plan if you decide to eat it. Other than the biscuit the only thing that was edible from this dish was the Gouda grits which were excellent. The little man(who is 2 years old), had a waffle from the kid’s menu and an extra side of bacon. Half the bacon was beyond well done and half was palatable. The waffle was surprisingly undercooked and chewy which makes me wonder what the hell is going on in the kitchen. Did they forget the waffle and throw it on at the last a second? Maybe the hash brown waffle was taking up the only waffle iron? Even the 2 year old didn’t eat much — and he loves waffles. There were a total of 11 tables in the restaurant with five staff out front, manning the register and tending to the tables, and what appeared to be three staff in the kitchen. We waited 10 minutes for a table; there was nowhere to sit while waiting. We were asked by 3 different servers/hostesses what our last name was and told it would be 5 minutes wait by one of them, 10 minutes by the other 2(they clearly had not communicated). The service started out nicely enough, but once drinks were down, it was clear that 5 staff could not adequately handle 11 tables. I observed looks of annoyance and frustration from other diners due to the length of time it took for food to arrive and how long it took to get the check. When all of our plates had been piled up to the side for over 5 minutes, the server seemed to think it more important to wipe something off the floor right next to us without acknowledging we were done or needed a check. She got up and didn’t return for 5 more minutes! I eventually took the toddler and sat in the car. 3 minutes later the husband came out, said the Chef came by and asked how things were and didn’t wait for a response. Super disappointing.

A great place for a taste of Nashville. No need to drive & wait hours for a lovely Café or pancake closets. Selection is limited, but all things are done to perfection. I had a pimento green tomato bacon burger. Any of the homemade ingredients was great, but put together, wow! I also had their turnip greens & kale, seasoned so you eat them right out of the kitchen. Homemade tater tots, fluffy biscuits, tasting jelly& jam samples. My recommendation — the seating is limited, so let me know if you are going so I can beat you there for a seat. If it is full to overflowing, sorry. But the owners deserve the success. Enjoy, all y’all!
