I just went to Le Fat Poodle for the first time and had the filet mignon and it was easily the best piece of steak I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of good steak! The service was also amazing and I enjoyed the warm atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

I am so disappointed with the snobby people who work at and run this restaurant. I cancelled a reservation on the morning of because the reservation was for 8:45 pm. When I called no one said anything to me about being charged. A couple of days later a $ 50 charge per person was charged to my credit card. What’s even scarier is they did not say anything to me about it when I cancelled. When I called, they were very condescending and told me basically their tables are coveted and I had to cancel 24 hours before. The worst is that I know for a fact that the table was filled. So they are making money on the cancelled reservation and the people that filled the table. My recommendation to these owners is that they read«setting the table» by Danny Meyer about how to treat your customers. I promise you that I will never go to Le Penguin or Le Fat Poodle again.

Great spot here in old Greenwich. Have been going since they opened. The best is the patio on the side in the summer. Parking isn’t the easiest but easier than many other places around. Place gets very loud on the weekends. I usually try to aim for an early Sunday brunch as the food is tasty and the noise level is low. Great spot!

In a county full of mediocre restaurants Le Fat Poodle blew me away. High quality ingredients cooked perfectly is how I would describe it. From a simple salad perfectly dressed to the pappardelle with short rib ragout everything was delicious. Pasta was cooked just right and flavors were perfectly balanced. We loved it!

Love this place! When you’re here it feels like family! Antoine Anshu, Ian and Adrian… Each is passionate, knowledgeable, and consummate professionals. Our dining experience this evening was extraordinary. Food was delicious, including one of the best dry aged ribeye steaks we’ve ever had, sweet and crispy brussel sprouts, and a medley of three different sauces that tasted so good it made your tongue want to jump out of your mouth and smack your face around! I could go on about the ambiance, terrific and approachable wine list, great din, and a sense that this is just where you belong, but I’d probably bore you with all of the accolades. Bottom line… Just go and enjoy!

As you can see by the 5 star review i will have nothing bad to say. I enjoyed two of the best old fashions ive ever had. The bartender said im going to make them up because i think you are going to love it that way. He had the stones to rec’d it to me i took him up on it and it was delicous. My wife had a glass of white from their list which was also very good and was paired nicely with her meal. We had the bone marrow and shashito pepper appetizers. Ive seen some complaints abt price but i would have paid more for the marrow it was more than fair price and f-ing delicous. The peppers came with a sauce that complimented them with a little spice, very tasty and also extremely fair priced. I ordered the red snapper and my wife the chicken. Snapper cooked perfectly and the curry sauce that it came in was so frigin good its the reason i wanted to write the review. It is a must try! My wife enjoyed her meal as well; and as someone who doesn’t eat fish or beef shes pretty much an expert in chicken. Service was on point as well. Plates were cleared promptly and waters filled with regularity. The maitre d/manager Ian was a gentlemen and answered every question we had. He spoke to us at the table but also gave us time to talk and eat when the food came out. Very professional, but also friendly, attentive and welcoming. The chef walked the room and he even came over to say hello and asked us how the meal went. I imagine thats not typical we just happened to be there before dinner rush(5pm) and he happened to walk by. Either way it was very nice.

It’s nice that OG has a place that’s family friendly with good(albeit expensive) food. The downer was the long black hair in my husband’s fries and kobe hamburger plate. It was taken away and replaced with different(?) french fries which contained a shorter black hair. Was it the same hair, but styled? Because it was my mother’s birthday my hubs chose not to bring attention to his plate or distress to the situation again. The staff was aware; the waitress denied culpability and the French waiter laughed when I said it didn’t match my husband’s steel gray. We never received an apology(or comp) from the manager for the first hair. Communication up and down the lines didn’t appear to exist.

I don’t love Fat Poodle. But, le Penguin is so good it is hard to give Poodle the 2 stars it deserve. Hopefully it will get better? Biggest downsides… The tables are on top of each other. Honestly to close to have a conversation that isn’t shared with neighboring tables. Please… Make changes to the menu! It’s always the same… Or have some specials? I can’t recommend anything I’ve had. People say the chicken and waffles is good. Pass on the Shrimp and grits.

I ordered take out one evening… While staying in greenwich. The food was absolutely delicious. I started with the tuna tartar. It was fresh and one of the better tuna tartars that I have had. For dinner I had the filet with mashed potatoes. You wouldn’t think steak is good for take out, but it was cooked to perfection. It was a great meal. Going in the place to pick up the food, I noticed how lovely both the indoor and outdoor seating area was. I Will definitely be back to eat here.

I went out to dinner and got a bottle of wine, I didn’t finish the bottle so I took it home. I liked the wine so I looked it up online to see where I could buy it and they had charged me $ 55 more than the wine was sold in the liquor store! The chicken and waffles were good not great. The waitstaff kept trying to rush me through my meal, but they were super friendly while doing it.

My husband and I dined last Friday night and sat outside. We started with the tuna tartar pizza special and oysters. The oysters were fresh and delicious however they were served on crushed ice that had more then half melted this added unnecessary water to our oysters! The tuna special was good but the crust was underdone. For my main dish I ordered the chicken and waffles. It was a great modern twist on this southern dish. Would definitely recommend ordering. The service was ok, definitely not comparable to some of the other restaurants in Greenwich.

Love love love this place. On the pricey side but well worth it. The place is built out in a very elegant way. Almost like French meets Caribbean. Very great ambiance. Always packed at the dinner rush. Menu is smart and to the point. Brew poop platter is a great throwback to the 70s. Entrees really shine here. Pork chop is great, New York strip steak with peppercorn sauce is always cooked to perfection and whichever fish they feature(last I was there red snapper) in a curry sauce is very good. I love that they serve all sauce on the side. Only downfall is wine and beer only. Not their fault but a town thing. A+

My friend and I had a really excellent experience here… The food was great and the drinks were even better, everything is a little pricey but the portions are fairly large. Definitely try the Korean BBQ Wings, totally surprised by how AMAZING they are, going back just for those!

Are all these reviews legit i wonder? Too glowing and too well written it seems 5 stars… really? . Yes it was loud inside but the outdoor dining was lovely Service very slow so dont come here in a rush We weren’t so we didnt care Food ok My only complaint was that that curry cream sauce for the mussels was too thick and creamy and needed more curry spice and flavor, the men i was with enjoyed their meals… Cockles delicious The store bought italian bread in a plastic bag was weird How about a nice crusty bagette or something more classy?

What a beautiful night. Is there anything better than a French bistro? Just what Old Greenwich needed. If you don’t have a French bistro in your town, move to a different town. The ambiance is cool and casual. The food is bright, flavorful and delicious. I started with the gazpacho. Perfectly spicy and great consistency. The Swordfish was blackened but not too much and the fish was firm and not oily at all. Great old school music takes you back in time. Very friendly staff. I always say the mark of a good restaurant is whether I can answer the following question, Would I return? Definitely.

Wonderful culinary experience! The Fondue was a nice surprise to the appetizer menu and served brilliantly with a side of ground sausage and potatoes for dipping. The feeling is warm and inviting and a perfect addition to Old Greenwich! We will be back!

Not long ago, I had the great pleasure of having Shrimp and Grits on a visit to Charleston, SC. I thought I’d never have anything so wonderful again without the long journey to the historic city. I was SOWRONG! The Shrimp & Grits at Le Fat Poodle are even better! Creamy and flavorful, I may not be able to order anything else on the menu here again. Oh, and don’t let me get started about the Tres Leches dessert or the wonderful service! I may never stop!

Le Fat Poodle is the ideal combination of neighborhood-y, gourmand, and eclectic. We had the pu-pu platter, and my red snapper in yellow curry over wild rice was an incredible explosion of flavors. I also bumped into several neighbors. This is literally the place where everybody knows your name…

I was invited to The Grand Opening the week before Christmas. Anshu greeted us at the door and seated us. The new restaurant is bigger than Le Penguin. The ambience is casual but elegant and quite trendy and chic. The menu is quite unique. The Pu Pu platter is a must for an appetizer The Duck entrée is one of the best I have ever had. The Veal Pot Pie was excellent. The service was impeccable as one knows who patronizes their restaurants. A great location in Old Greenwich. I will definitely be going back and recommending it to all !!! A True Five Star *****
