The Saucee Sicilian

Not sure what to make of all the ‘super” reviews. First, the positives, these people are very personable, friendly, and outgoing. The service is very fast. That is it. I’ve eaten at places around the city (OKC). So I guess I was comparing to «the Wedge», Belle Isle Brewery, others that are wood fired. My bad. The dough is like biscuit dough or something else. Not yeasty. Very commercial, pre made at least.
Saucie!!! No. Dry. And sauce is like, from a can of Del Monte. the toppings were generally good but who cares if they are laying on top of a bad crust and with no sauce to speak of (bad sauce, at that). To say that I am extremely disappointed would be a gross understatement. And I am not a hard reviewer. suffice it to say, I will not be back here, For all you five star raters, I suggest you go the Wedge sometime so you can get a handle on a reasonably good pizza.
I am sad for this place as the people are so nice, but it is what it is. And having said all that, my wife who is less critical, said exactly the same thing. We hated wasting our home grown basil on this. Just apparently overrated by people who have had way too much beer.

Soooo good! I will track this truck down again! Nonna was so fun to talk to and reminded me of my own Nonna with her fun and spicy personality!

Please please for the life of a pizza God go! Find them hunt them. Their pizza is so wood fire delicious it’s incredible. What really sets this truck above the rest… Their amazing personalities. Oh yeah and the T-​shirt is comfy and the deserts are mouthing water punch your momma good!

Easily my favorite truck in the metro and also easily my favorite pizza in Oklahoma! Love love love the use of fresh ingredients. If I could eat 5 pizzas in one sitting I totally would! Also the owner and staff are phenomenal people who always go above and beyond. It’s so awesome to see them interacting with customers no matter if it’s their first time or their 80^th time they always treat them as if they are regulars. This is an experience you don’t want to miss.

Wow! My bf and I went Bleu Garten one evening and got to taste some of the best pizza we’ve ever tasted! We ordered a Tusa, but instead of mushrooms we put pepperoni. It was absolutely so delicious that we went back and ordered a second one!

Loved this pizza. Prices not bad considering it’s a food truck with fresh ingredients. Friendly service. Some pizzas we saw coming out were a little on the charred side for our liking, but ours was great.

The Margherita (Red Sauce, Mozzarella, Sea Salt, EVOO, Basil) with added pepperoni and sausage was amazing! One of the best pizzas in OKC hands down. Fresh wood fired taste, fresh basil, fresh mozz. Yum Yum…

Saucee is quickly becoming one of our favorite trucks. We love the super fresh toppings and you can’t beat the fire-​baked crust. Thin and crispy, one pizza is a great meal, or, share a pizza and some of Nonna’s meatballs! (Note: homemade sauce is on the spicy side!) The pizzas are pretty fast, due to the high temperature at which they’re baked. I’ve waited a while for my meatballs.
When they’re not swamped, it’s fun to visit with the owners.

Yo. These guys are the absolute greatest. I stumbled upon their truck one day on Western and they threw me some Nonna’s Balls to give them a shot. My world has been changed. I work near the OU Medical Complex and run over there every chance I get to eat more of the most goddamned delicious pizza I’ve ever had. Highly recommended if you like you know, food. Good food. And great people.

I truly think the Saucee Sicilian is in the running for the best pizza in Oklahoma City.
The roving food truck is manned primarily by Gannon Mendez and his mother, Nonna (aka Priscilla Jones). They like to have a good time.
The truck they’ve constructed is a party on wheels. Tables on three sides fold down. Big, flat-​screen TVs are built into the back and emerge from the sides. There’s a roof, too, in case the weather starts … weathering.
But even if there were none of those amenities, I’d still make it a point to find The Saucee Sicilian because it makes a heckuva pie.
Not every food truck should have appetizers because not every food truck is pleasant to hang around for a full meal. But the focaccia ($ 4) and sauce and balls ($ 5) are the kinds of dishes I’d gobble up in any Italian restaurant.
Fresh, right-​from-​the-​oven bread is an intoxicating luxury. Paired with Nonna’s fall-​apart meatballs, it’s a winner every time.
But let’s not act like you’re not getting a pizza. Stop it. Stop acting. You are not good at it. You make Frank Stallone look like Sylvester Stallone with your terrible acting. So stuff your face with 8 inches of Capizzi ($ 9) instead.
A Neapolitan-​style pizza, the Capizzi is cooked fresh when you order and comes topped with roasted red peppers, ricotta and mozzarella and big cloves of sweet, roasted garlic. My recommendation (on this and every other pizza) is to get the chili oil as well. Mamma mia that chili oil! It has a burst of flavorful heat I can’t resist.
As a big fan of meats, I am also a big fan of the Noto and the Tusa (both $ 9.50).
The Noto starts with red sauce and adds hot soppressata (think pepperoni’s fancier cousin) and Nonna’s meatballs, garlic and basil.
The Tusa swaps out the meatballs for Italian sausage and piles on hot capicola (think ham’s fancier cousin), mushrooms and chili oil.
The Saucee Sicilian also makes its own pesto. What is pesto? It’s heaven if it was green and made with basil. One of the best showcases for it is on the Mt. Etna ($ 9.50). In the middle is red sauce, then mozzarella, then pesto. Roasted garlic villagers run from the flavor eruption, but they won’t get far. You will eat them.

Are you my friend Rob, who tries to order pepperoni pizza at Starbucks? Good news, Rob! The Catania ($ 9) is a pepperoni pizza with basil. It’s a pretty tasty pepperoni pizza. You don’t have to get any other cool flavors, like caramelized onion or artichokes, Rob. You can just have this thing, which is a better version of the thing you always order everywhere.
You can also get it if you’re not Rob. The staff won’t ID you or anything.
Do you still have room for more food? Liar! You are full. Terrible acting, but I’ll play along.
If you crave something sweet, the Buona Vita ($ 6) is a calzone … filed with s’mores. Yes. Chocolate. Marshmallows. Covered in powdered sugar. It absolutely will get on your clothes, but you won’t care.
Seek it out. Buy a pie already. Have a seat around back and watch a game. They like to have a good time, and you probably will, too.

Great people, great food! The spicy marinara is to die for and the truck is rad! We missed Nonna’s sauce and balls, but will be back for them! If you’re in OKC, find the Saucee Sicilian!

THE ONLY ITALIAN-​QUALITY PIZZA IN OKC
Need I say more? I ate here at H&8^th. Waited a solid 30 minutes in line. Waited a solid 50 minutes for my order to come through. But it was easily the tastiest, most authentic pizza I’ve had in Oklahoma City. As someone who’s experienced the world’s best pies in Milan, Rome, Sicily, Barcelona, Madrid, New York, Chicago, and St. Louis, I can effectively say the Saucee Sicilian ranks up there as one of the best. The pizza is most similar to what I had in northern Italy, though this style of pizza can be found pretty much throughout Europe.
The wood fired oven is definitely a plus, as is the use of authentic ingredients. The crust is amazing as well. They know how to get just the right chewiness and crispness, without burning it or making it too soggy. Amazing considering how many pizzas they were pushing out.
If you’ve never had this quality of pizza before, imagine the satisfaction of regular Oklahoma pizza without the stomachache afterwards. Hunt down this food truck if you want to have one of the best meals of your life. Eat it with a fork and knife for maximum European experience. :-P

This food truck is my favorite, by far. So friendly! They do a great job of moving to different locations to reach all parts of OKC. I can’t visit them without having focaccia. Their pizzas are the perfect size to share with a friend, or save some for later. Don’t forget to try their dessert!
I have yet to try their sauce and balls, but I have only heard great things.
Can’t wait to see this truck rolling around again!

Thank goodness I am no longer a Saucee Sicilian virgin! Picked this pizza truck out of all the others parked at bleu garten on St. Patrick’s weekend! The pizzas are thin, 8 in. Napolitan style pizza! I could have eaten the whole thing because it is so thin, but shared a few bites with friends! Went for the pizza with the most toppings on it (i don’t like to keep my food simple). There were sautéed onions, mozzarella, tomatoes, mushrooms and roasted garlic!
They noticeably had the longest line but it was worth it and that’s obviously a sign at how good it is! Keep your eye out for this truck around town and at bleu garten!

Nice service and alright pizza. Their concepts for pizzas are great, but the execution falls a bit short. Their sauce is homemade they say. If that’s so, I’d like a bit more on the pizza than there is so I can actually taste it better. As it is, it’s pretty bland and reminds me of Ragu.
The toppings are fair enough quality and I did like the crust. It had that bit of burn that pizza can get when cooked over an actual fire, and I like that.
Alas, though, there are too many other great pizza places for me to really consider this a choice.

So I love a good food truck (who doesn’t), and I love me some pizza, and The Saucee Sicilian satisfies both those cravings in a big way. It’s run by a mother and son (I believe) and they are so friendly and nice. Always asking how things were and what they can do better.
You get a pretty big pizza for the price of around $ 9, and dang are they tasty. I had the «Tusa» which I think is Italian for «spicy amazingness» — it has mushrooms, hot capicola (go onnnnn), hot soppressata (yasssss), and Italian sausage, and then it’s topped with chili oil. I mean, you had me at capicola, but then you add the rest and I was in heaven. They also offer meatballs, focaccia, and a spaghetti and meatballs option — along with many different pizzas.
I especially love to go when they’re parked at Vintage Coffee on Friday afternoons (at about 51^st and N. Western) — and go get a cold brew coffee to enjoy with my pizza. Vintage also lets you take the pizza inside if the weather isn’t cooperating.

Great food and great folks who manage this truck. From the moment I walked up they were so warm and inviting. Gave us a sample of the meatballs which were great but I settled on a pizza, the Nina. It was awesome. I loved their red sauce. My absolute favorite pizza food truck. I’m so excited that’s nearby in okc!

I would say pretty good pizza for a food truck. I stopped by Bleu Garten to hang out with friends for a little and decided to get pizza. To my surprise, it was hot, not too cheesy, with a wood oven taste to the thin and crispy crust. The s’more dessert sounds delicious, but was disappointed when I got it. Not much chocolate and VERY doughy!

I just found the BEST pizza in Oklahoma City! And it’s out of a food truck! I am a pizza snob. I’ve been looking for edible pizza ever since I moved to OKC from the east coast. I was beginning to think the Italians hadn’t made it this far west. Well, today I happened upon The Saucee Sicilian food truck at Bleu Garten (377 NW 10^th St, OKC) and had to try their pizza. I am always hopeful that this will be «the“pizza! It is awesome!
I had the Palermo. It has Nonna’s red sauce, pesto, home made meatballs, mozzarella, caramelized onions and fresh basil. YUMMY!!! The crust was cooked perfectly, I could fold it in half to eat it! All the ingredients were very fresh. The guys cooking and at the window are super nice! I will follow this food truck! Trust me, you want to have their pizza too!
