Shell Rapid Lube

Conveniently located just south of I-​240, this Shell Rapid Lube is my go to destination for oil changes when in the city. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly for me — quick! To say that I drive a lot would be an understatement so I’m always in need of an oil change. My company has a preferred local location where our fleet of vehicles gets serviced but more often than not I opt to swing by the Shell Rapid Lube since I’m in the area seemingly all the time. I will say this is not the cheapest place for an oil and fluid change, but as is with most things, you get what you pay for. I believe my last service was in the neighborhood of $ 78 for the works but the plus side is that I’ve never had them to try up sell me and they are seemingly honest to a fault. Yes, of course, I could change my own oil but that’s not going to happen and these guys are the best. They will also vacuum your interior and wash your windows inside and out. The managers couldn’t be nicer and I’ve never had any problems with this location. They have also in fact told me of things I should have done to my car and when I took it to my company’s mechanics they were dead right! And this location doesn’t do any kind of service outside of traditional oil changes, transmission flushes and basic repairs so there was no financial incentive for them to alert me of these things. For this reason alone I give them mad props. As mentioned, services here are just that — basically lubrication related. They offer transmission flushing, a/​c coolant refilling, and an assortment of other services. They will also put on wiper blades for you if you are so inclined — and at one point I was as I needed them and they installed them sans charge! Yes, pathetic I know but they offered to put them on so who was I to deny them the pleasure? The waiting room is typical of these type of establishments and at least offers customers coffee, a TV, some magazines (curiously US Weekly which I would never be caught dead reading but thankfully nobody besides the guys knows me here so I can get all my celebrity schadenfreude in secret) and donuts! I have to maintain strict self control here but thankfully they are so quick I’m not tempted for long. Overall, I really like this place. The attitudes couldn’t be better, customer service is outstanding and you are in and out so fast the «Rapid Lube» moniker is apropos. They do not offer gas at this Shell location but thankfully they take my corporate Shell card so kudos for that! The best place on the southside of OKC for an oil change. Check ‘em out, get lubed up and back on the road. Very highly recommended.
