Revel Eight Salon & Spa

I feel like it’s pretty rare that a customer write a review based on one employee, but I really must!
This was my first time to this salon, after mediocre encounters At a few Salons nearby.
I was warmly greeted with a hot cup of green tea and shown in by Parker. At this point, I realized I had made a great choice. Parker took the time to wash and mostly dry my very long, thick hair so he could get a sense of my true texture. Most stylists will take one look at my hair, comment on how long it would take to dry, cut it wet and I end up with blunt layers or a weird shape. Parker himself is a delight, I felt like I was catching up with an old friend. The end result is shiny, gorgeous blended layers and a fantastic experience!

If you’re looking for a good massage therapist, I recommend Robin at Revel Eight. I was given a gift certificate for a one hour massage and made an appt. Robin is popular so be sure to plan ahead. When I showed up, the staff were super nice. Robin made me feel super comfortable and made sure the pressure and temperature were just right.
I would give 5 stars if the background noise of the salon didn’t flow into the massage room. It was a little distracting.

I was visiting my family from out of town and read the reviews make an appt. big mistake I received the worst haircut ever, uneven, cut way to much off and the highlight couldn’t tell they were done. I was so upset when I got home and washed it I went to the men’s barbershop and they tried to fix it. Well when I got home my husband was shocked and my coworkers couldn’t believe how horrible my hair looked. Well it cost a 129 dollars and I can’t remember her name but it started with an A. Because of this experience I may just let it grow and cut it myself.

Just got the best massage I’ve ever had from Robin. Be sure to get the full two hours! No reason to be picky when the therapist is that talented.

Had my first coloring with Nicole. I was skeptical about having a coloring done since another salon botched it. The color is amazing. She even dyed my brows. They look great. Thanks Nicole!

Like everyone else, I found this place based off the great reviews. And I was sure that I found my new salon. I called them up and asked who was available when I wanted to come in. The receptionist told me who was, and that was totally fine by me, as I had seen all of that stylist’s 5 star reviews.
I got to the salon right on time, but 25 minutes passed and I still wasn’t called back. I finally asked the receptionist what was up, and they said that the stylist’s appointment was running behind. They were able to have their intern start washing my hair so I didn’t have to wait any longer. When the stylist was ready for me, I showed them what I wanted, and they was seemed confident they would be able to get me those results. After all, it was a super simple haircut. Long layers. He cut my hair and then styled it in loose curls. Looked fine to me.
Then, fast forward a day… I straightened my hair and seriously wanted to start bawling. I’ve never seen a worse haircut. (see attached pic). I don’t know how the stylist ever let me leave the chair like that. I guess I couldn’t tell how the cut was because of the way it was styled… But for someone who has a lot of experience and great reviews, I was in shock at how terrible it looked. I will give them the benefit of the doubt, and hope they were just having an off day.
I immediately called the salon, and Rachel answered. She was extremely nice and offered to have me come back in right then (on a Saturday). I wasn’t able to come in Monday — when they aren’t even open — and she said that was great. She did a really great job fixing it for what she was working with, but I still am not happy about my hair at all.
Will I be coming back to this salon? Most likely not. But if I did, I would make an appointment with Rachel.

I came to OKC for my out of town wedding from Seattle. I looked up salons on Unilocal to find one in my area with great ratings and I found Revel Eight. It was one of the best decisions I made.
It was a little difficult to get a price range estimate from online and calling, which to me was a little odd, but since each stylist has their own rates, they do vary. Revel Eight was so helpful in booking 5 appointments in the same general time frame and were so gracious when we had a last minute cancelation. They greeted us with the offer of mimosas which was the perfect way to start my day.
On to stylists. Hannah did my sister’s hair and did a wonderful job. She captured my sister’s style perfectly and her hair stayed all night and looked great. Parker was the magician. oops, I mean stylist for my mom, my best friend, and myself. Even though this is a modern, trendy salon, Parker made my mom (who is not trendy) feel comfortable and beautiful and gave her the best style I’ve ever seen on her. He worked his magic with my best friend and when it was obvious that she wasn’t feeling it, he pulled it all out and started from scratch without batting an eye. She emerged with a gorgeous style that totally suited her. Parker gave me the most gorgeous, messy, fishtail side braid and he really worked with me to make sure it looked exactly how I wanted. I don’t know about Oklahoma rates for hair, but less than $ 60 for bridal hair where I live is a total steal.
Parker walked my girls over to the other side of the building when they were hungry to show them the easiest way to get to a nearby restaurant and even brought me his personal cell phone charger when I mentioned that my battery was dying.
This place is the real deal. I would come back in a heart beat if I lived in OKC.

Found this place because of all the reviews on here and I was not disappointed! The store atmosphere is very nice. I was greeted as soon as I came in and offered a drink as I had to fill out a questionnaire before my services of a body glow with massage. Robin was the person who had assisted me today. She was wonderful as she showed me options because of my skin condition. She was very professional during my service and very nice.
I highly recommend using their rain shower. Its a wonderful experience.
I would definitely come here again. Maybe next time getting a full massage. Well with the money I spent.

I’ve been getting my hair cut and colored here since December, and I have to say I have never felt so good in my life! I see Kayla, and it’s always been a great experience. She was very open and listened to me when I described what I wanted, and every time I’ve left with a new style that’s exactly me. I’m pretty traditional with my hair – I want it colored naturally and to leave with a softer look – and that’s exactly what I got. And it’s stayed that way – I don’t know what color they use, but I’ve been coloring my hair red for years and it’s never lasted the way it does when Kayla does it.
I’m moving next week, but I have an appointment to get in to see her again before I leave! I highly recommend this place… always a great vibe and a fun place to get your hair done.

I have lived in Oklahoma for 3 years and have struggled to find a salon, let alone a hairdresser, I want to utilize again, mostly due to my trust issues with hairdressers. As a result, my hair has suffered for it, but after my haircut yesterday, I have finally found my go-​to.
I booked an appointment with Tracey blind (as in, he had an opening at my preferred time of early Saturday am), and let me tell you, he is the best. Tracey was excellent at asking me what I wanted out of my haircut, especially given that I wanted 4 inches chopped off. He really paid attention to what I was saying and verbalizing that back to me to make sure we were on the same page. I feel like most hairdressers are like «you want that? ok, let’s go» without really taking the time to understand what you want, but not here. I could feel my trust building quickly into the consultation — a biggie given those aforementioned trust issues!
I got a simple cut and style, and even with the consultation, I was out in an hour, even though I had given myself plenty of time between my appointment and brunch. I felt at ease during the whole time making conversation with Tracey and other Revel Eight staff that floated in and out. It also helped that they served complimentary coffee! If I’m going to be at a salon at 10am on a Saturday, I will definitely be in need of some caffeine.
Overall, that was one of the best haircuts I have ever had. I know I am going to keep making the trip down to Revel Eight, if not for the free bang trim in between cuts at the very least. They have a wide variety of services — esthetics, massage, coloring, etc. and I want to try them all!

I used to come here when I lived here. I still make it a point to make an appointment when I’m here on business. Nikki for hair is amazing. Tiara for facials is super great. Nails, massages, etc. I have not had a bad experience here.
Mimosas on Saturdays, wine and coffee while you’re getting work done. Awesome place overall, great atmosphere, everyone has a unique personal style and they are totally great at giving tips for a new cut. Sometimes I go in and let Nikki do what she wants with the color and cut and it’s always great. I’ve never been disappointed. :D

Kara was AMAZING and did exactly what we asked! We will definitely be back.

This has to be one of my favorite salons! I had a haircut with Rachel and she worked with unruly hair. We discussed about what I wanted before she started cutting. She was super helpful especially with great tips that I can use at home. I also had a facial with Tiara. She was wonderful! Before we started, I told her about all of my concerns and she listened and gave me suggestions. She tactfully removed a stubborn blackhead. She stated that she would not keep on digging and aggrevating the blackheads until they were ready. She was very gentle. Along with my facial, she gave a quick shoulder, arm, and hand massage. My face has a wonderful glow because of the facial. I will definitely come back for a haircut and facial!

It’s been about two weeks since I had my hair styled and it looks/​feels bomb diggity. For starters I was searching for a salon open on a kinda late afternoon on a Saturday that could handle my type of hair (some reason African American hair scares people). I called here & there were able to get me in within 30min which was perfect since I was on the road. Once I got there I felt awesome from the hair washing, blow drying and trim of my hair by Kayla.
I didn’t feel uneasy to trust her with scissors to my hair which is rare, plus she fixed some spots that I hadn’t even noticed.
I’ve been to the building before, but it was for an event where stylist tried out different techniques on hair or gave a demonstration of their services. From that night I had good vibes & have wanted to actually come back to try them out. They are brand new to that area, industrial vibe of a building with punk thrown in.
Now all these high praises and you wonder why just 4 stars? Well this is probably minor to most, but as a college student every dollar counts. Just to do my homework on salons before I chose one I went with Revel 8 because their website states a haircut was $ 32 (in that ballpark), I ended up paying $ 50. I guess it was because I had my hair washed, but oh well. I’ll just have to chalk this up as a rare splurge.
Now that I know that I’ll have to save up before coming back for another trim, they are still fantastic.

The hardest thing about moving is finding a salon for consistent excellent haircuts. Tracey at Revel Eight has been amazing. I’ve been getting haircuts from him for almost 8 months now. I highly recommend him or any of the stylists here.
My wife also comes here for massages and always raves about how amazing the massage is.

Tracey cuts my hair and I can’t say enough nice things about him! Last time we did ombré and I got nice compliments about my hair. Also, he always styles it so nicely after my cut and colors. Of course I never can replicate it, but for the rest of the night, I feel like a million bucks. It’s nice not to have to leave the salon ready to go out instead of feeling like you have to redo your hair the way you like it at home.

I had a great experience at this salon. I had a horrible hair cut when I was younger (at a different salon) so I was hesitant to try a new salon. After seeing all the great Unilocal reviews I had to try it!
The salon was very understanding of my hair nightmare and did nothing but listen and make me feel comfortable. I left looking like me just without the split ends and it was perfect! Just what I wanted. Thank you so much for the great hair cut!

I had my hair done by Hannah for a Renaissance Faire I was going to that day. She was a great gal and very personable and talented! The rest of the Revel Eight staff that were there seemed just as amicable as Hannah, as well.
I had left my picture references for my hair at home, because I’m bad at things in general. But I articulated the best I could what I wanted, and Hannah went about to conduct her magic (honestly, hair is strange and mystical to me. Making it look great has to be witchraft).
As usual, getting a good shampoo and head massage is incredibly relaxing. During the process, she used Unite products (info on the website listed) that felt very «clean», meaning natural and not harsh at all. As she was washing my hair (and later styling), she explained each product and what she was doing with it.
Now comes the styling! I explained to her how I wanted the braids and that I wanted my hair to have a messy and natural look to it, rather than perfect like for a wedding or prom, as well as make it wave and coarse looking. She repeated it back to me, which I greatly appreciate because active listening is a lost art these days! I knew she understood what I wanted (even though my explanation was terrible), and she got to work. She stopped here and there so I could look, making sure it was going in a direction I wanted. Let me tell YOU, she was never wrong.
She managed to get my hair to curl, which is one of few miracles you’ll see on earth, folk. So, in a way, it saddened me that to achieve my desire look, most of the curls were brushed out to create the wavy/​messy style that I requested. But she left a few curls in, which were quite cute.
At the end of the day I ended up paying $ 55 for a shampoo, massage, and style (not to mention conversation with a lovely gal). I would like to note that my style appears, and is likely, simple, but that’s because how I requested it. Strangely, a lot had to be done TO make it look messy and simple. Hannah put much work into it. $ 55 is just the standard price for what I got (style/​braid without a complicated up-​do) and the shampoo isn’t required which would have made it $ 45, but hey, I like that stuff.
