Metro Transit Bus System

I just noticed my first «filtered» Unilocal post, it was an extremely negative one regarding the transit system here in the OkCity. I have had a great experience with the ridership part of it, the buses are usually there (given 50 tries they have always come within 20 minutes of when they were suppose to expect once, when it didn’t come at all).
But the three stars are due to the complete system, yes it gets you out to the airport or really far away, but my thought is that expanding the bus system would add so much to the city, not only times that they run, frequency, but to different places. For instance, there is only one bus that goes out to the Oklahoma community college (that I know) and it does so only every hour or so… I see a lot of promise in the system but it is very hard to get passes so you are stuck paying the full fair if you can’t get out to the few places that they sell them.
Lastly, and I don’t know what to do about this, but the frequency of texting while driving is interesting. I know Boston has prohibited person phones on buses and trolleys while drivers are on shift. I hope there doesn’t need to be a large scale accident for that to happen here.
Finally, if you want to decrease traffic, would you widen the roads or better the public transport system? It seems like all the talk of getting OKCity to be more walkable is just that, talk.
6 am to 6pm travel, Monday thru Friday this is a pretty good system is you have to go less than 4 miles.

Awful. Left a bunch of riders stranded in the cold with the bus being more than 45 minutes late. Who knows if it ever came since I finally had to give up at the 45 minute mark and head inside. Called the transit office to find out if the bus was running since they didn’t have any notices up on their site and their excuse was that they felt no need to tell riders about the serious delay. Don’t take these buses!
