Gigglez Bar and Grill

Had the philly and a burger super yum. Sweet potato fries and pub fries both yummy. Super nice staff. Lots of tv to see sports. Fun atmosphere. Midtown.

Brunch was amazing! The menu was revamped by our friend, Chef Vuong Nguyen, formerly of Guernsey Park, now owner and Chef of Bonjour. Everything on the menu sounded great, and we all ordered different dishes to try as much as we could. So far I have tried the Big Papas, Smokey Biscuit, Tower of Taro, The Englishman, and My Cousin Bennie, all of which were superb! The My Cousin Bennie is different and so delicious, you also get a lot of food for your money. This will be definitely be on our list of go-​to brunch spots from now on.

Such a cool place with food that is beyond impressive! We took our family of 5 (us and 3 kids) on a Sunday night so I’m guessing this is the best time for families to come to avoid crowds and to limit the «bar» type of an atmosphere. The kids had chicken fingers and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was to die for! It was creamy and for sure the best kids mac and cheese in town! The kids are every bite of their chicken fingers which they never finish at most places. The French fries were homemade and yummy. My husband got a sandwich that had grilled ham, cheese, egg with some special dressing on it. He couldn’t stop raving about it. I had the Philly sandwich, the best I’ve ever had. The bread it was on is homemade and has this herb in it that made it so good! The service was so great, our waiter was super nice. The owner even came over and chatted with us. The fun part was after dinner we took the kids to the vintage arcade games they had. The kids had a blast! Highly recommend everyone to try this place! Great find in Midtown!

So rare is it to find a place in OKC that has the perfect blend of casual sports bar atmosphere, a decent beer selection, a variety of cocktails AND great food.
We came to this place on a last-​minute whim… looking for a place to post up for the Thunder game. The reviews on Unilocal were all really positive and I was surprised we had never heard of this place. Obviously it’s a well-​kept secret because there were only a handful of people occupying the rather large space.
With TV’s on every wall there’s not a bad seat in the place, and since it was so slow, we got our pick.
The menu had a variety of options ranging from American, Mexican, Italian Greek, and Asian inspired plates, which made me a little nervous at first. Usually places with massive or vastly diverse menues tend to overcompensate with quantity or variety at the cost of quality. My BF ordered the nachos with chicken and I opted for the gyro salad. Both were brought to our table looking amazing and tasting even better.
FINALLY! A place my man will go to watch sports that offers a healthier option than fried food and burgers that actually tastes great!
Love this place! Will be back!

Good food, nice atmosphere, nice staff too. Music not too loud to talk. I like it and going back soon.

I love this place for several reasons.
— Chef Nguyen is amazing
— The proprietors are huge hockey fans, and hosts hockey players
— There is certainly a cozy mom-​and-​pop vibe
— The food is pretty good
— it’s a great place to hang out.
My only complaint is that the food can sometime take a long time to come out; but they are usually worth the wait.

I don’t know I how missed this place for so long, but I’m glad I finally stumbled on to it. I should say that they have the odds stacked against them for lunch because of the parking situation, but here’s hoping the construction around St. Anthony’s gets resolved and new parking opens up.
Gigglez is definitely a bar first and foremost (black interior, TV’s, sports and beer-​themed décor), but it was clean, had good lighting in the seating area, and didn’t smell like a bar (not that there’s necessarily anything wrong with bar smell; I just don’t want that wafting into my lunch experience).
The menu had some intriguing items (again, it’s a bar, so temper your expectations). I had just finished a particularly arduous task, so I decided to reward myself with the Guac, Guac, something something Burger (I know, Gigglez; be glad I’m not your PR person… EEK!) and some sweet potato fries. My friend stiff-​armed my corruptive suggestions and stayed with one of the salads. His salad looked good, but my Guac, Guac was one tasty burger. I have to say it was in the Big Kahuna realm of burgers. And the sweet potato fries, of which I expected nil, was startlingly good. Most shockingly, the pickles are made in house, and were little kick-​ass slices of sour, sweet, and spicy. Damned good burger.
This isn’t far from my ‘hood, so I may have to frequent this place more often. If they could become my go-​to sports viewing spot, that would be ideal. So far, so very good. Recommended.

What is there to say about Gigglez except it’s a pretty cool spot. The entire staff was a joy — including Marty, one of the co-​owners. He and my husband talked about his days in the military, and Marty introduced my guy to one of the tastiest local beers he’s ever had. The food was pretty good (no complaints from me) and that’s likely due to Chef Nguyen and the magic dust he sprinkles on his food.
This is a relaxed spot with a fun menu that turns up the expectation on common bar food. The place is also outfitted with all the televisions your heart can take. I even hear the VIP room upstairs is good for gamers.
We’ll likely come back to Gigglez one of these days.

I originally came here for a little CMYE, but I ended up buying a meal, alcohol, and some boba tea, sooo!
There are very few places, if any, I’d return to in Midtown/​Downtown solely because of parking and business. Gigglez is the one place I’d frequent, though!
The spot is fantastic with a small neighborhood feel inside. Last I heard there are 17 TVs for your viewing pleasure and they’ll play as many games as there are on instead of blasting the same game on every single TV. I liked that even though this is a sort of sports bar, it wasn’t insanely loud. The music was at an appropriate volume and the TVs weren’t blaring. Now, I’m sure a little more ruckus would be worked up during a Thunder or OU game! There’s plenty of room in the main area and then a loft leading up to some comfy looking couches. The loft has HDMI capability so folk can bring their consoles and do some gaming if they like (PC master race, though)! Just past the bar is another room for dining and a few games, along with the smoothie/​boba tea bar and kitchen. All of it has such a great vibe.
Gigglez is very family oriented and it was nice to meet the family that runs the place. Tammy was the server for our table and she was an incredible joy to have. Husband and wife team, Marty and Casey are just… wow. They clearly pour their heart and soul into Gigglez. All of the employees I met were pleasant and personable, which made the visit rather relaxing and enjoyable. Rounding out this fantastic family team is Chef Vuong; astronomically amazing chef, endearing human being, all around cool dude. He truly put the perfect touch to the food at Gigglez.
Aside from the astoundingly good service, the food was phenomenal. For the CMYE there were some light bites, but I’m gonna be talkin’ about the food I got.
I’m Not A-​Fredo (chicken alfredo) (⁵⁄₅): A simple dish, right? Chicken, a creamy alfredo sauce, mushrooms, parmesan, pasta. Now, not just any pasta; radiatore. If you’re not familiar with this type of pasta, feel free to Google it. I honestly don’t think I had had radiatore before my chicken alfredo at Gigglez. But I never want to go back to any other type of pasta with my alfredo. Penne soaks up too much sauce and makes it overly squishy and juicy, I’ve noticed. But Chef Vuong using this radiatore got it exactly right. Not only was the taste of the dish on point, but the pasta creates the exact right texture and amount of sauce. There’s even a little kick (just a bit, unless you ask for more I imagine) to it in the form of chili flakes. It really rounded out the dish, adding to the flavor instead of overwhelming the flavor. Not to mention the bread it comes with. At first glance it looks like it’d be one of the more firm/​hard breads that often comes with pasta, but that first glance is wrong! The bread tastes amazing and is nestled perfectly between soft and firm.
Taro boba smoothie (⁵⁄₅): I got this and was asked if I bought it at the sushi place nextdoor to Gigglez. Nope! They have smoothies and boba tea to boot here at Gigglez! Taro is my all time favorite so that’s what I got. When I ordered it, Tammy was pretty excited about it, and now I know why. It’s the best taro tea I’ve ever had. Her sister, Cindy, made it and I was told it’s something their family has been making for a while. I can believe that. For my innards, I opted for taro jelly rather than a bursting boba. While the jelly was great, I got a taste of some of the boba pearls and ALMOST regret getting the jelly. Almost, because they’re both fantastic. At the moment of this review, they don’t have large tapioca for boba*.
Last but not least: beer! They have lots and lots of beer (and other stuff for mixed drinks and such but I’m all about the beer). Of course there’s a ton of local options. Even some I haven’t seen at other places with local beer! They also run specials (weekly, I think) for beers, so for my visit I got a Mustang Sweet Potato and an Anthem Sour, both $ 4 a pop. Niiiice.
Can I go back now?
*There’s no large tapioca right now because of how quickly it can go bad after being made and the lower volume of boba orders. But they do have little ones!

Decent is the word here. Atmosphere, food, and service. Nothing special. Unilocal let us down on this one

Fantastic Food with a Distinct Neighborhood Family Vibe
Okay, the Gigglez name is confusing (I thought this was a comedy club). Having met chef Nguyen and enjoyed his eclectic approach, I dropped in on this Saturday afternoon. I met Marty and Casey, the co-​owners, and some of the staff — all delightful people who clearly enjoy the family feel they have created. The east side is the restaurant and the west is a sports bar with the occasional «comedy night» sponsored event. Make a note, unlike some comedy venues, this is a NON-​SMOKING bar. Who wants to choke on the disgusting stench of second-​hand smoke? I refuse.
The menu is a bit overcooked with copy-​writer cleverness. I requested a translation and, on recommendation, ordered the award-​winning nachos. They were excellent. The secret balsamic drizzle is a surprising difference maker. An appetizer suitable for sharing, I took my time and ate the whole thing. I will definitely return to sample the other offerings and for the smoke-​free comedy night.

Decent little place. Staff was friendly. Waitress was prompt. Order to table time was a little slow, but not awful. I had the Spicy meatball sandwich. Good flavor & decent spice/​kick. House made chips were good too. Worth stopping by IMO

Not your typical bar because the food is terrific!!! Defintely reccomended it. The atmosphere is chill and comfortable. The service is great as well. There are good drink options.

I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but with a name like gigglez how can you not cast some instant judgement?
The space is actually really cool and was redone well. Large beer list and helpful staff.
I do really wish they would reconsider their branding. Midtown is a hip, young neighborhood and I don’t feel like they are reaching their ideal clientele. The feeling of the space is fairly upscale and chic, but the menus and name border on kitschy. I don’t think Laminated paper and cutesy names are serving them as well as they could.
With some upgrades I could definitely see it becoming a neighborhood hangout for the trendy millennials who live within walking distance.
Nonetheless, I do recommend giving it a try! I will return!

When I first saw the name of this place, I vowed to never go. Then a friend told me Chef Vuong was the head chef and we immediately decided to go.
Nachos are my favorite food group and the nachos here are freaking amazing. Magically every chip is covered with goodness but maintain the crispy crunch any respected nacho should possess.
The wine list is decent and beer list is extensive. I love a good rye whiskey as well. The Highland West was recommended and for only $ 8 straight up, it was a delicious deal.
The warm Rosemary nuts are a must try because warm, sweet, salty nuts.
I’ve read other reviews about service and I hope people give it another go because they are still working through the kinks. I’ve only encountered very nice staff who were trying to make our experience enjoyable.
The food is yummy and I plan to return, despite the name.

This is quickly becoming my favorite hang out. The owner, Marty, is always there and is super friendly. The menu appears to be your typical sports bar fare, but they really step it up and make it unique. They have a great beer selection and are always happy to make recommendations.

It always breaks my heart when I have a 1-​star experience. It is so rare I hardly know how it feels! There were so many issues this night. Gigglez didn’t leave me giggling. The bad service was just the start, from confused hosts to untrained bartenders. I am hopeful by the time you read this review they have finally discovered the long lost drink menu.
Fun exchange with the bartender: (who is unable or unwilling to tell us what beers they have, simply declaring to us) «you can try whatever we have.» Yes, but what do you have? «Just try anything.» Yes, but just name a few and I will pick one! No response… so I asked what their well bourbon was. He proceeded to list all the bourbons they had. Yes, but what is your well bourbon? Another blank stare from the bartender… You aren’t a bartender are you?
It’s hysterical now looking back on it, but that night I still wasn’t giggling. I never was able to get a drink. Wait, what?
They do have a very interesting menu, which really was about to wet my whistle. I was salivating by the odd sounding concoctions and was excited to order. But unfortunately we never got to that either because of the troubles with ordering, getting attention, and finding menus.
It pains me to click on 1 star! OUCH! I am a good picker so it was quite a surprise to have a sour lemon after so many dozens of great experiences. I guess every 100 visits I am bound to have a tough night, right?

Here’s the truth: I loved it. I came here with a friend and local business owner yesterday to brainstorm some event ideas and try the new place. Being such a huge fan of Chef Vuong Nguyen, I had to check it out. As a reminder, Chef is the man who brought you the original Guernsey Park menu, plus Bonjour, and to a certain extent, some of the original Guernsey items you see on the Covell Park menu. With his name on the menu, I knew the food would be good.
You just have to get past the absolutely terrible name of the restaurant, and the somewhat odd space made by combining what used to be The Candy Store and the former Saturn Grill. It’s hard to know exactly where to walk in, but that doesn’t really matter. But really, the name has to go. This is no name for a Midtown establishment, and the excessive use of Zs on the menu is at best good for a laugh and, at worst, could cause a lot of people to overlook or downplay how good the food is. Which would be a pity, because the food is some of the best in Midtown — it is certainly the best value.
We started with and order of the warm, nuts, seasoned with rosemary and so good. At only $ 5 they must be losing money on this app but it is delicious. We then split the lo mein dish which was really good but reminded me a bit of a chicken lean cuisine I ate too many of in my twenties so I wasn’t floored by that. But Kermie’s Love did me in — fresh pulled pork on ciabatta with cheddar and Chef Vuong’s famous house-​made pickles. Sweet potato waffle fries were crispy on the outside, soft and warm in the middle and dangerously good.
The scratch margarita was great — house simple with lime and triple sec, not too sweet nor too sour, on special for $ 4. I’ll definitely be back, and will be pulling for them. And also not-​so-​secretly hoping for a full re-​brand, re-​tooled to reflect the thought and quality that has clearly been put into the food.

We came here bc a friend invited us. Read the reviews and didn’t have much of an expectation based off reviews of poor service and food. I was so wrong! We started at the bar to wait for friends and the bartender started by introducing himself, shaking our hands and getting our names. He recommended the nachos which were KILLER!!! And I mean LIFE CHANGER! Our friends met us and now we’re a table of 8. Waitress was bubbly and fun and recommended items. All of had something different and all was great! We ended and tabbed out. The head chef came out asked how everything was and saw we didn’t order dessert. He told us to hang tight and while we finished our drinks and then he brought us 3 desserts to try. Holy moly I don’t even know which was my favorite. This may be a sports bar with a sports bar menu but the staff and food take it up to whole new level.

Unfortunately a disappointing experience. My friends & I had high hopes for the place due to the location — nestled in trendy midtown. We sat at the bar, which is kind of separated from the restaurant side of the facility. The setup is very cool, with lots of TVs, an interesting loft space, and cool décor. The bartender was friendly, but overall service was sub-​par. My canned beer arrived lukewarm, and a friend ordered a Mustang, and was delivered a Boulevard. Probably mistakes that would have been easily fixed had we asked, but we are generally easy going so just drank up… but judging by the environment at the bar I think it alluded to general dysfunction with the staff. We ordered an appetizer platter, and it came out with 2 items of the 4 subbed out for different stuff than the menu showed. When asked, the bartender replied «oh yea, we are out of a few things» and carried on. On top of that the food was not well prepared, and not to what I would call the standards of midtown in their price range.
There wasn’t any comedy going on while we were there, so I think I will give it another shot when there is — and hopefully they can work some kinks out, after all it opened pretty recently.
