At the very best, I offer a mixed review. My stuff was moved without any breakage and without any scratches or dents – and this includes a large, antique hall tree. No breakage is very good! HOWEVER, this company did not come on the day and time we agreed upon. I called them on moving day at one hour after their scheduled arrival and left a message. I got a call back an hour later saying they were on the road in another state and in bad weather making travel a problem. They said that at the very best they could come later in the evening.(I was speaking with the driver and not the business owner.) My husband and I were going to need rest to work the next day… hmmm. I asked if the next day was possible. It was. They came at the newly negotiated time the next day with an extra man on the truck(which I assumed might save us time and money and provide a slight discount as a result). I spoke with the driver about a discount for the day-late arrival and he said he didn’t know what to say but pointed out that I was getting a 3rd man at no charge. Wrong. That 3rd man was one lazy dude. The other two worked their tails off. #3 was completely into drinking his coffee, keeping warm and, well, I don’t think he was an asset to their team. We agreed to allow them a break at a convenience store and #3 was last out of the store by 5 minutes! We were packed and ready. There were lots of boxes and very little furniture for them to move. The driver worked hard. The man in the truck worked hard. #3 kept himself warm and well-rested. The move cost $ 425. I feel we did not get a reasonable price. There was no compensation for lateness – and, in fact, there was no apology either on the day they were missing, or on the day they came. I am undecided whether to contact the company. It might be less hassle to just let it go and get ourselves settled since we have moved during the holidays and really need to settle. I wish I knew if this was just an unfortunate, weather-related issue!
