Great place to eat if your craving tacos. Flaming Lips tacos are the best! Reminds me of my grandma’s cooking.

Another restaurant damaged by the demonization of salt and spices. We decided to give Big Truck Tacos a try after a recommendation on the local news and subsequently reading the website. However, we certainly can’t see why Big Truck Tacos are rated number one in anything except bland and tasteless food. I had one«Guardian» and one«Beef Al Carbon» taco on corn tortillas. My family members both had two«Beef Al Carbon» tacos each, also on corn tortillas. The food had no enjoyable flavor and was bland. I suspect it has to do with a lack of salt in the preparation. Modern culture… and this current government administration. seems to demonize salt and frown on restaurants use of it… or simply there’s a modern culture of hating salt and spices. People, I suppose, probably tend to think if you can’t taste the food, it’s good for you and hype it to themselves as desirable. Whatever the reasons for this restaurant’s tasteless food, we certainly won’t be returning. The food certainly has flavor, just not desirable flavor.

Excellent food, large tacos, big plates. The employees are friendly and the lines move fast. The food is quick but full of quality.

Probably the worst decision I’ve ever made. This is not Mexican food at all. There is zucchini and maybe celery in my quesadilla. And the guacamole has so much like in it thy might of well just gave me a lime. Taco Bell is more legit Mexican good than this. Live and learn though. Yuck!

This is our first time to Big Truck Taco and it was well worth the stop. We were from Wichita and found it on Unilocal and it was very good. Well worth the price we had a beef burrito and and a chicken taco. Would return when we are in town again. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was very clean.

After enjoying Torchy’s Tacos in Austin for years, Big Truck feels slightly disappointing. True, the concept is virtually the same, and their 23rd Street location is convenient and draws a large crowd. However, things inside feel rushed. For example, the tables are often dirty, tacos frequently cold, and their limited capacity(coupled with the high volume of customers) only contributes to the«get your tacos and go» vibe. Don’t get me wrong, Big Truck will satisfy mild to moderate Tex-Mex cravings, but don’t expect to have your taste buds blown.

An OKC staple, I’ve never had a bad experience here. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. For my money, you can’t go wrong with the chips and guac, and the borracho chicken tacos are a perfect blend of heat and flavor.

Ok, it’s my birthday and it was big truck tacos or any other restaurant of my choosing and guess what I chose!!! I had the flaming beef tongue tacos with really fresh shredded lettuce, tomato, avocado, spiiiiccccy chili, with a gallon of sparkling water to wash it down and dampen the fire a bit! Ample parking, clean restaurant, including restrooms. cheerfull, helpful, efficient service. It’s in an old sonic type drive up with only tables to seat about fifty or so, not like a high end or modern restaurant but it totally rocks! Mind you my birthday this year fell on a Tuesday so we weren’t fighting the weekend crowds. Hands down the absolute best tongue tacos after my mother Inlaws heavenly fare in strathmore CA. Other tacos ordered were Carna Asada, grilled chicken, gorditos which are a thicker masa than corn or flour tortillas and when my wife said they were good, that means to you and I that they rocked the house too! Great for a sexy first date, family outing, to go after work, 56Th Birthday Meal, or even last meal on earth. Average $ 3.50 per taco, much more than TACOBELL… but absolutely blows gross Taco Bell out of the water! I’ll be back, over and over and over! They have over twenty different tacos advertised but will happily make what ever you choose, how ever you want it made!

How have I never reviewed this place before??? I first fell in love with BBT at The Plaza Festival back in 2012 maybe. They got me hooked with the Borracho Chicken taco and OMFG sauce. Menu: 5 stars Their truck has enough of an offering to satisfy just about anyone. Their restaurant on 23rd has even more. I always have a hard time deciding what to get, even though I’ve been in half a dozen times or so. And I’m still exploring the menu! Prices: 5 stars Most tacos are about $ 3.75. They come loaded with a generous helping of meat(and that’s coming from a serious carnivore), and 3 is enough to fill me up, no matter how hungry I am. My husband has a bigger appetite and 4 is enough for him. You also get free sauces… all you can pile on… to help make your taco your own creation. Atmosphere: 4 stars The truck is a truck. Not much to say there. They used to come to Norman frequently and would set up tables and play some music. So that was nice. Don’t know know what they do these days though. The restaurant is cramped and loud. I much prefer the truck experience, but there are more offerings at the restaurant, it’s worth making the trip. Staff: 5 stars I’ve never had an complaints. Service has always been reasonably fast when I’ve visited the store, or the truck. They are always willing to make suggestions and changes to the tacos, and are friendly. Food: 5 stars Are you not sold yet? Lets see… I’ve tried a variety of tacos. Most are very moist, not overly juicy, never greasy, always flavorful, and popping with flavor. I’m not a fan of the steak… it’s a bit too tough for a taco and makes eating it difficult. The Green Chile Pork and Borracho Chicken are by far my favorites. All the sauces are homemade, fresh, and full of flavor. Overall: 5 stars YUM, YUM, and YUM! I want another taco!

So I’m a big fan of Big Truck. When I’m craving some specialty tacos, it’s my go-to. The Fried Avocado is my favorite… I just don’t understand how it can be so crunchy yet so smooth at the same time! Magic. The green chili pork is also delicious. Shout out to the variety of salsas at every table! It’s on my list to go back for breakfast since I’m a breakfast burrito/taco fanatic, so standby for that update :)

Ever since I was in high school, I have loved Big Truck Tacos. I used to go with my friends at lunch and the line would be out the door, but we would wait. I graduated years ago, but I will always love this place. Their queso is so so good, sometimes I just get chips and queso to go and call it a day. It does get busy at lunch time, but it’s totally worth it.

Unique variety of tacos and Texmex style food. Served up on a small, food truck style atmosphere. Food is freshly made with unique flavors and food combinations. Includes daily specials and brunch menu. Opens early for breakfast daily too! There’s 6 different freshly made salsas to choose from along with a seasonal salsa. Usually always hopping with business but by the time your order comes, you WILL have a place to sit. Trust me! Look for their food trucks on the set up around town too! Trucks do not feature the full restaurant menu, though.

I’ve been back living in my home state for over 18 months now, but I have been hearing about Big Truck from friends for years. Despite being back so long, I hadn’t tried this spot yet. The reason? It’s on 23rd Street, and if I’m on 23rd I’m eating at Tucker’s or Cheever’s. So, my sole reason for not trying Big Truck earlier was geographical. After having lunch at Big Truck on a Tuesday, I regret that it took me so long to get to this joint. We arrived around 12:20. It was busy, both the indoor and outdoor seating were well over half full. But, the line wasn’t long, and they get through it fairly quickly. The buddy I was with had eaten at Big Truck many times and advised I get three tacos, so that’s what I did. I went with the Rancher(brisket, potatoes, spicy relish), the green chile pork(the name says it all), and the special of the day, which was the KD(boneless chicken wings, veggies, and a blue cheese crema). We also got an order of chips and guac for our wait. We were given our guac and sat down. As many other Unilocalers note, you have your choice of 5 sauces on the table, all of varying ingredients/heat levels and all delicious. My favorites were the roasted tomato and jalapeño. But, all of them were flavorful. The guac was good, but not fantastic like the salsas. All of it was fresh, which is great. It took about 10 or so minutes to receive our order, which is fine by me during the lunch rush. The line was never less than 3 people deep the entire time we were there, but they kept the place humming right along. These tacos are stuffed, I think they’re a great value for around $ 3.75 apiece. My favorites, in order: the rancher, the KD, green chile pork. The beef on the rancher was tender and flavorful, and went very well with the spicy relish. When I added the roasted tomato salsa, it was fantastic. The KD was so large that I had to eat some of the chicken out of it just to be able to hold it. But, once I did that, it was fantastic. Clearly these were freshly made boneless wings, the chicken was juicy and cooked very well. The wing sauce was spicy but certainly not hot. And, the crema added enough blue cheese to cool things off. I wish they’d add this to the permanent menu, I absolutely want to order it again. The green chile pork was also very good, just not as good as the rancher and KD. Big Truck’s reputation is well-deserved. Glad I deviated from my typical 23rd street eats, and I will gladly do so again in the future.

I’ve been out of the«great Tex Mex» zone for two months now and I was needing some delicious tacos. These fulfilled that craving and catered to my dietary preferences. Their salsa choices though were the stand out, though. I’ve had many tomatillo salsas that fall short and are bland but this salsa verde had a great roasted garlic flavor that made it the best out of the several options available.

I love to call in my order at Big Truck on Saturdays after my daughter and I go to the downtown YMCA. Then we can drive through and pickup our order. This is such a popular spot & always has a big line. Barracho Chicken tacos are my favorite! They’re so tasty and hearty… not a small taco. On nice days it’s fun to stay and eat on their outside patio tables! Great spot; great casual food!

What I like most about big truck tacos is trying out all their different salsas. My favorite one is that orange one which is kind of sweet but yet still brings a pretty hot zing to it. After all these times of going there I finally found what I like most and that is the simple bean and cheese burrito which you can have with grilled steak or grilled chicken. This enables you to eat a simple meal and try all the sauces and it’s way better than Taco Bell. I do have to compliment this restaurant on their beans. The addition of that cheese they put on them really makes them great. My daughter always gets the 5th amendment and has never been disappointed. I got a Gordita one time and the dough was still raw on the edges. I will go back in the future but mainly its that orange salsa that beckons me.

I used to always think BTT was overrated. I’m not totally sure why, but I never had it much until this year. The things I have to rave about here are their breakfast and catering. Breakfast here is absolutely incredible! I have tried several items including Huevos Rancheros, Migas, The Zig taco and Sam I Am taco. The tacos are cheap and one will fill you up. The larger plates are definitely enough for two. Their ingredients are super fresh and you can taste the love put into these dishes. Their daily Aguas Frescas special drinks are also delicious! I’ve had the mixed berry flavor and it was a little too sweet but I watered it down a bit and enjoyed it. You can also build your own tacos and burritos which is always a great option if you can’t decide from the menu. As for the catering, I was very impressed with their thoroughness and quick turnaround time. I had forgotten that I needed to order food for a meeting on a Sunday so at about 8 pm the night before, I placed my order for the next day, slightly worried I hadn’t given enough notice. They had no problems getting it together for the next morning! Their pricing is pretty reasonable for their build your own taco bar setup and they give you everything you need for you event. From plates and plasticware to bags of ice, they ensure that you can take this anywhere and not need anything else. At $ 10/person, it is worth it purely for the ease. I’ve never come here for dinner, but overall I have had a good variety of what BTT has to offer and they do it right!

I really like that they are trying to do different things in OKC, but I really cant justify anything more than 3 stars based on just the food. I’ve been here couple of times because other native OKIES just absolutely love this place and think its the greatest«Mexican» food in the world. Of course this place tries to mix things up with different flavors. I appreciate that, but they just don’t hit the spot. In summary: they overcomplicate flavors and mix in too many things in a taco/burrito. Big Truck seems to try add 10920129120 toppings and flavors. Again, nothing wrong with that but an «A-OK» rating suffices.
