Fun store to window shop with the beautiful displays of furniture and tables of fine dinning ware. I came in looking for a particular thing and the woman at the front pointed me in the right direction to see if they carried it and followed up with me later to see if I found it. Unfortunately it wasn’t what I needed but I enjoyed looking around at the other things and telling my daughter about the things she hadn’t seen in her lifetime. I was a little scared though with all the fine dishes around of her knocking something over. We made it out without a mishap.

Ancient of Days is one of the best, if not the best, antique stores in Oklahoma City. It’s a wonderful store to spend a couple hours in on a Saturday morning, as there is something interesting in every nook and cranny. Their pieces are unique and varied — For example, they have antique opium pipes! i will note that they are expensive compared to other stores of its ilk, but when you have antique pieces in such good, quality condition, why would you expect to buy them for cheaper than listed? But even if you don’t have money to burn on antiques, come and just look, at least. There are so many treasures to see.

It’s not that this place is terrible, because it’s certainly not. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The main problem is that it’s just SOEXPENSIVE! This antique store is definitely for the upper middle class antique collector, in my humble opinion. Don’t get me wrong, they have some things that are reasonably priced… however, those things are few and far between. If you’re like me… you like to find bargains, you like to haggle prices, and most importantly… you like to «feel» like you’ve gotten a good deal. Well, this place just doesn’t allow you to experience any of those things. With all of that being said, this place has unbelievably beautiful pieces of furniture. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that they have some of the best, if not the best, antique furniture in the entire city… but, you’re going to pay top dollar for it. I’m quite the haggler and can usually knock quite a few dollars off of the sticker price, but at this place… those skills are put to bed. There really is no haggling. The people running this antique store know exactly what they have, exactly how much it cost, and exactly how much they will get for it… regardless of what you think it might really cost. Because of the crazy high prices and the inability to even be given the opportunity to haggle prices, I can only give this place 2 stars. However, if you have money to burn and want some quality, unique, and extremely beautiful pieces of furniture… then this is a place you’ll definitely want to visit.
