Traveling around Arkansas and living in Missouri, I’ve been to a ton of Cracker Barrel restaurants. I guess I’m spoiled, having eaten in locations that are closer to the south; this one is really disappointing. The turnip greens taste consistently… odd. The biscuits are dry. The chicken and dumplings is mostly dumplings. The open faced roast beef is usually really fatty and the portion is small; the potatoes are more like smashed baked potatoes than the creamier slightly lumpy mashed we get in the south. The pintos are dry and there isn’t nearly enough ham hock in it(nor in the turnip greens). I guess southern cooking doesn’t work in the north, even when it’s at a chain restaurant. I gave it a two because most of the people who work here are really nice.

Good food, nice waitress, but this man came up to me and asked if I was going to check out the store. I said maybe after I’m finished eating. After I finished I got my receipt and left the money on the table. As I walked out the waitress said«have a good day» like there wasn’t anything wrong at all. I started to head out and then the same man who asked about the store stopped in the middle of the store. He said«did you leave the receipt on the table?» I responded yes. He then made us wait in the middle of the exit until someone made sure it was there. He had an earpiece in and the whole experience was very strange.

My husband and I have never been disappointed by a Cracker Barrel breakfast. I much prefer going to Cracker Barrel for breakfast over most of the local diners because the food is consistently good quality. I usually try to support locally-owned diners, but most of the breakfast places I’ve been to in the Lansing area have been mediocre. Their French Toast is my husband’s favorite, and their pancakes are phenomenal(unlike the dilapidated, flavorless, Bisquick-tasting pancakes at other places). When I need some good comfort food I head here because it’s the closest I can get to Southern food(grew up in Alabama) and I know I won’t be disappointed.

My sister, great nephew and myself went to Cracker Barrel in Okemos, MI today for a late breakfast. I stood holding the 19 month old baby waiting for someone to show up with a high chair. The server came and asked if she could take our order. I said we would order as soon as I had a high chair to put the baby in. We asked if the coffee was fresh(coffee snobs) and she said yes. Coffee took three creams and still too black and tasted horrible. Please bring us a fresh cup. Coffee came put one cream in and it looked like water. Could not taste any coffee in it. Went to see the hostess and asked to speak to a manager. I explained the problem and she said she would get us a good cup of coffee. Mean while, I would have drank the water I asked for and never received. Hostess stated that everyone was complaining about this server today. We told the hostess the coffee was good. She asked if I still wanted to speak to the manager and I said yes I do. She came back to the table to say the manager was on the phone and would come to our table as soon as they were off the phone. One hour later still no manager. I am a food safety expert and what I wanted to say to the manager was that I have allergies to dust and dust mites and was trying to figure out why my allergies were bothering me so much. Just look around, the walls and items hanging on the walls are so full of dust and debris. You look and it is just hanging there falling into peoples food. My sister did not order grits and gravy(she had nothing to put the gravy on), the baby did not get the piece of bacon my sister ordered for him, and my food was cold. I will never go back to this restaurant again.

I look forward to coming to Cracker Barrel whenever we are in town each year. I was introduced to Cracker Barrel when I was in college and have loved it ever since, but we don’t have Cracker Barrel in the Bay Area or Portland. We came here this morning with Mike’s sister, and one of his best friends from high school and her family. I really enjoyed my meal, however, our waitress seemed pretty frazzled and our food took almost 40 minutes to come out. Nonetheless, we will absolutely be back next year because I love this place.

Cracker Barrel is one our favorite places for good service, fast meals, and good comfort food. Today, we order the Old Timer’s Breakfast, which comes with hashbrown casserole, grits(which I opted out of), biscuits(get the apple butter!), gravy, choice of meat, and choice of eggs. My husband ordered the Momma’s Pancake breakfast, which comes with eggs, meat, and pancakes. They were busy today, but I thought a bit slower than usual. Otherwise, the food was good as always. They have always been consistent with quality food.

The food is GREAT. Chicken & dumplings, macaroni & cheese, fish, and all the breakfast dishes are excellent. Ambience is country. Location is convenient right off the highway(I-96).

Repeatedly slow service for lunch. The food comes out like it was sitting under a hot light or in an oven to keep it warm. The waitstaff could at least stop by and refill drinks while we wait for over 45 minutes for simple breakfast. For how long it takes to get your food we could drive further and hit any number of diners/breakfast joints and still get back to work quicker. Very disappointed! It’s not like their food is anything special. They don’t even serve real maple syrup. It is nearly 50⁄50 high fructose corn syrup.

I’ll come right out and say that I’m not a fan of Cracker Barrel. A lot of family members and coworkers love this restaurant, but I don’t care for it. The merchandise is pretty neat, but I don’t care for the backstory or the constant country music they have playing on loop. Despite this, there is always a CB in walking distance of whatever hotel my company is staying at and people always recommend going there. I’m trying really hard to not be anti-social, so I go. Heck, I even suggested we go to this one since no one could decide on what to have for lunch. Our waitress was so nice. She really was. And the man who rung us up was nice, too… And that’s where it stops. I ordered some uncle-bob-cousin-tom nonsense that had steak, eggs, and hash. The eggs and hash were okay, but the steak was tough. Getting your steak medium means it should be nowhere near tough. It was tasty, but chewy chewy chewy. I also got some baked apples… Ugh. I dunno. Maybe my taste buds are off or something, but they were nasty and so was the gravy for the biscuits. My coworker got something smothered in sausage gravy and ended up scraping it all off. The eggs and hash were the stars of the dish. T_T How sad is that? I know a lot of places can’t do grits justice and I wish they would just admit it. Cracker Barrel, why? My grits were lump-tastic and watery. If they just had a little patience and worked that water into the grits, they would have been great. My coworker just laughed at me when I was forking through the lumps, telling me that’s why she ordered double apples, but the apples weren’t good either. D: And no free re-fills on orange juice? You let me down, CB. Let me down hard.

Love Cracker Barrel! My favorite thing to get is the fried okra! I have been craving the fried okra for five years and I was not disappointed! The chicken and dumplings are also pretty amazing! And then their blueberry pancakes with the blueberry syrup… oh goodness. so delicious! And there is also always something to do! There are little table games and then the huge checkers board! That is always fun! :D

Very friendly staff and very little wait time between ordering and receiving the food… first time here and it won’t be my last! Did I mention less the $ 25 for two entrees and drinks? Awesome!

We don’t usually eat at the CB, but 95 yr old Mom wanted to go after a long day spent moving her to a new condo. The service was, as usual, very good. Our server Alice went out of her way to make sure mom(who is very hard of hearing) could understand her and got what she wanted. Two thumbs up, Alice! The food was what we have come to expect from CB, good quality and good portions, Mom and the wife loved the Bar-B-Que Apple Chutney stuff and the sides remind me of my Grandma’s southern style cooking. Weight Watchers it isn’t!

Consistent food, service always friendly and efficient. Enjoy stopping there when traveling back, kind of a home cooked meal away from home.

We never got waited on, so I had to after a really long time ask the hostess to get us something to drink. I ordered the roast beef with choice of 3 sides. The roast beef was tasty, however very very small portion mashed potatoes were runny, the corn good and the baked apples were the best I have ever tasted. Corn muffin good. My daughter liked her grilled cheese. I only gave one star mostly due to waiting so long and being embarrassed that nobody ever came to wait on us.

This was our first(probably last) time in a Cracker Barrel. The waitress was the only good experience yesterday. She was friendly, helpful and fun. The food though was cold, everything tasted«smoked» and we had someplace to be so we didn’t bother asking for it to be redone. I don’t mind if my toast is cold but the pancakes, the eggs, the bacon, the hashbrown casserole, the ham, the sausage. literally everything was cold. The butter couldn’t even melt on the pancakes.

Very good food and service. Consistent every time. Best pancakes I’ve ever had here. Just don’t go to Brighton CB, they can’t even make the coffee right.

I have eaten here before. I had catfish, it was fine, food was ok, nothing to complain about. Clare M was our waitress, I couldn’t hear her or she was mumbling,?? She was just ok.

This place has a cool old-time feel and some delicious food. I had the Berries & Buttermilk breakfast(which I think is seasonal… blueberry pancakes topped with fresh blackberries and served with raspberry syrup) and it was great! Their hash brown casserole is so good. My parents had the chicken pot pie and said it was very good. If you’re looking for a good breakfast or some comfort food at really good prices, this is your place!

A pretty basic casual restaurant on par with say … Denny’s, but it’s all the antiques and fun adjacent shop that make it a 4 star instead of 3 star experience. The shop contains a fun variety of retro and nostalgic merchandise that is fun to look and and affordable to purchase. Lots of toys and candy! Even DVDs of old movies and tv shows!

The one thing I like about Cracker Barrel is consistency. Same clean and comfortable décor. Same good food(nothing spectacular, but always good) Same great service. Same great value. This location did not deviate from what I like about CB. One fo these days I going to buy one of those rocking chairs in front.
