History

Established in 2003.

A Boutique Inn housed in a historic schoolhouse built in 1874. It was a community center then the 2nd story was added on when it became the residence of the first mayor of Ojai. Afterwards it became Ojai Manor Hotel. It remained that way for years until it was shut down for 1 yr to convert to a B&B, Moons Nest Inn. When Kathy and Mark Hartley bought it, they remodeled and continue to do so. Not only does the Lavender Inn have a lot of history, but also a lot of love, taking care of guests, hosting weddings and community events, and now INNcourage, a cancer retreat for underserved women.

Kathy H.

Business Owner

While Kathy does the decorating, photography, advertising, and helping with landscape design, she couldn’t do it without the rest of her team — Manager Beth, Innkeepers Vanessa, Rhys and Lori, and Housekeepers Genoveva and Tanya — all an integral part of the team. These «Breakfast Divas» love working at the Lavender Inn and are also caterers, personable chefs.
