Ojai Spring Car Wash & Lube

This place use to be amazing. Great car washes, oil change, etc. I don’t know what happened but the car washes and oil change are lacking. No wipe down of the center console, dusting or vacuuming! Also when getting my oil change its sloppy and they leave oil all over the motor so my car smokes up. Would rather drive an extra 30 minutes to Ventura to get an even slightly better car wash.

Officially never coming here again. I would expect a halfway decent car wash, especially with the recently raised prices, but still had to finish cleaning my car when I got home. The outside is so/​so, but the inside was very poorly vacuumed, maybe half of the dashboard was wiped off. I will not be back, and I’ll make sure to tell all of my friends, family, or strangers for that matter to steer clear of this mess.

Well I hadn’t been to Ojai Spring Carwash in a very long time. It was always cheaper and easier to go to the do it yourself Carwash on fox street. Given that I now have an infant it’s a whole lot harder to do it myself.
I picked the «sespe» wash which was the middle car wash. I was not impressed. My dash was barely wiped off my car was poorly vacuumed (there was still rocks and dirt on the carpet) I still had crumbs in the leather shifter and coffee from where my cup had spilled. But I will say that it’s better then it was before.

Super friendly and fast service! Thanks for the oil change! I did not have a car wash so I can’t comment on that.

My husband goes here to have the car washed, and they always do such a bad job. Today, I thought I would pre clean my car (with the exception of vacuuming out my trunk). Went to the car wash got the $ 15 car wash, suppose to vacuum my trunk with this price, did they vacuum my trunk? that would be a big fat NO! I watched through the window while my car was going through the wash, they still didn’t scrub ½ of my hood where the soap was still sitting till the water just rinsed it off. I would recommend driving all the way to Oxnard to the USA Hand Car Wash & Detail. Worth the money more than this place. I had them armor all my tires, that was done half ass. Didn’t even look like it had armor all on it. Is that even possible? If you want a half ass car wash go here. you’ll definitely get that! If you want the job done right, go elsewhere or wash it yourself and save some money!

Worst car wash ever. It was 18 $ and there was dirt and sand all over the floor and mats. Didnt loôk they even moved the mats. Drive through a gas station car wash and vacuum yourself and you will get a better job than this. On top it this they charged me 2 dollars for a truck or van even though I drive neither! I drive a mid see crossover vehicle. Terrible job!

My husband comes here more than I do, but we came here together last weekend to get our truck washed. They did a fairly good job, though not meticulous. The inside was clean and the outside paint was clean. The bed of the truck was cleaner than when we brought it in, though by no means clean as there was still a lot of little leaves and tree things in the bed. My husband had specifically pointed out all the leaves and twigs at the top part of the hood (in the gap where the hood would hinge up) and they got most of that out, though not all of it.
Overall we’ll probably come here again as it’s close to where we live and it’s reasonably priced. The waiting room/​store area was clean and comfortable and they had a kid’s moving playing on TV. Our truck was ready very quickly and we were pleased overall.

I don’t know why I go back when every time I’m more disappointed. They use dirty rags and I always need to redo my windows after they wash my car. It is sloppy work and I always have to go over my car after they wash it… Should have just done it myself!

I bring my car here for the oil change and car wash. They do a pretty decent job and I don’t feel like I am spending an arm and a leg. However I do suggest you watch them while they finish your car. One of the employees hit a piece of my rearview mirror while wiping the window and it came off. I watched him the whole time, he put it back on thank god.

Well — gotta believe the prior reviews. Maybe not the worst car wash I’ve ever had but Somehow 3 cars that were not even on the lot went through before mine. The guy doing the drying actually waked away from the car midway simply to chat and laugh with the guys working on another car. A bit more effort at the end and the result was fine.

A lackluster crew at best. Four of them standing around looking at my truck while it was sitting there wet. Finally one of them started to work on it– took about 15 minutes worth of halfhearted swipes at it while he chatted with the other team members. The wheels and doorjambs still wet so I had to take the rag and wipe them down myself. I really like having a local car wash and would hate to see it go under. The cost trade off to driving to Ventura is almost there — but I still prefer having something in Ojai.

After years of coming to this car wash I have decided they are not worth the price they ask for. Starting with the help from the cashiers and there have been lots, who don’t care if you have any complaints let alone if you are even here. They serve you like we are interrupting their day of doing really nothing but taking your money, they are not all that friendly or engage with you. As far as the actual car wash, well I sometimes leave there thinking did I really just have the car washed? My complaint is they don’t take the time to really get the mud and dirt off of your car or even the bugs all of which is fairly obvious. I believe their attitude there is that they are the only game in town and have a captive audience. Well not so, I have gone to a couple out of my town in Ventura who really do try to do quality work and have friendly people. I’m afraid to say the days of real customer service is going by the way side.

PISS POOR! I paid almost $ 18 for the worst car wash I’ve ever gotten! They sort of half-​vacuumed the inside, then cleaned only the top half of the the front wheel brake dust – just the part they could see while they were standing up. I had to clean the car myself at home for another half hour. I’m scared to get an oil change there for fear of what damage they might cause!

COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT!
For my oil-​change last year I went to The Ojai Spring Car Wash — they OVER-​FILLED my engine by one quart — and CHARGED ME FOR THE EXTRA QUART! When I pointed out the injustice of their error, they merely shrugged. I said: That’s the last time!
Today I took my car to The Auto Care Lube in Ventura; not only did they do an amazing job, but they also pointed out that the incompetent employees at The Ojai Spring Car Wash had put the wrong oil-​filter on my car!
Consider yourself warned: the staff at The Ojai Spring Carwash are COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT!

I took my car to them to have it cleaned and not only did they not get it cleaned they waxed over some spots which made it even harder for me to clean it. That was outside. And the inside was just done really poorly. Horrible

I wasn’t sure what to expect, based on the other reviews, but I’ve taken my car there for a few washes now (I park under a tree, ugh), and one oil change. One car wash was only so-​so, but the others were just fine (I did the $ 14.99 version each time), and I like getting my choice of air fresheners from the extensive list of choices. The oil change wasn’t super-​cheap, but it was pretty quick and I appreciated that. They have both indoor and outdoor waiting areas (something I didn’t realize the first time I was there), and while watching your vehicle go through the wash cycle, you can also browse a selection of cards and other car-​related merchandise.

This place is kind of a joke. And I’m pretty sure the only reason it’s in business is because it’s the only car wash/​oil change shop in town. I’ve been here probably about 10 times and every time I get here there is some kind of issue. Plus, the hours are terrible, 8am-​5pm, and they have all these ridiculous rules about when they stop the carwash or stop taking oil change appts. And the rules change with the wind…
Today I have to leave work early because I had them shampoo my carpet mats last week and they forgot to give me back all the carpet mats, but didn’t bother to call or email me (although they asked me for the all my contact information when I was there).
It’s just always kind of a circus with no ring leader. Car owner beware!

Will not bring my business here again. Came to get an oil change, brought my own Mobil 1 oil, as I often have. Guys in the wash line asked if I wanted my car washed, said it was free w/​oil change, so I said OK. Several cars ahead of me, and I only had about an hour, but thought that would work out fine.
My car was completely washed and parked in 15 minutes. I asked the clerk if I needed to be the one to drive it into the oil-​change bays, but she said, no they’ll do it, so I sat and waited… a half hour, then 45 minutes, then I started to wonder so I got up and checked to see my car still parked and yet both of the 2 oil bays were empty. What?
Clerk checked and said, «Oh that’s because the mechanic went on his lunch break about the same time as your car came out of the wash.» Don’t you feel any responsibility to warn your waiting customers about that, I asked. «No» she said.
So I said I can’t wait, I’ll have to come back later. She said to maker sure to return by 4:15 because they stop new oil-​change jobs at 4:30. Then she said it would be $ 11 for the car wash. I said I was told it was free with the oil change. She said, «Not if you bring your own oil.» What? Why should that matter? Is it because they jack up the price of their shop oil to cover the cot of a «free» car wash?
Got back right at 4:15, both bays empty and mechanic is there, but he won’t start my oil change, says he has to help the other guys who are performing a full detailing on someone else’s car. I told him what the clerk said, but he says Sorry, come back tomorrow… like I have time to keep running back & forth to this place. Since his bays were not «off-​duty» yet, and since he is the only mechanic there, I don’t know why his allegiance was to help do a detailing instead of putting down his rags, let the others finish the detailing, and get my oil changed. He knew I had been there earlier and couldn’t wait through his «lunch break.»
There is simply is not enough courtesy and clear communication here to patronize these rude people

Terrible! First and most definitely my last experience here. Avoid at all cost.
*First meeting — average customer service skills but not informative and notes were not passed from customer service rep to employees detailing truck
*Handling of auto after hours and over night storage was a plus
*Detail normally $ 179, on sale for $ 149, plus $ 21 fee for large truck but no one informed me that this price does not include truck bed, wasn’t even rinsed out much less washed, above average price, well below average results
*Leaves still inside seating area of truck, so vacuuming much less shampooing was incomplete
*Large areas of dirt still showing on outside of truck, mirros, wheel wells, bumpers, truck bed
*Clumps and smears of wax or polish still very obvious
