History

Established in 2012.

If I could give a negative star I WOULD! We live in northern Utah and couldn’t find what we were looking for, so we decided to go to Ogden and the surrounding areas. We found My Mechanic and judging on the reviews it had we though well lets give it a chance. We got to the place and was greeted by a great guy told us that the vehicle we were looking at was owned by one of their mechanics and he took great car of it (… BULL!!) plus it was in our price range! We even thought he was on the level with us when he said we could take it to a mechanic to get it checked out unfortunately since it was a Saturday there were not a lot of places open that could take us at short notice. We decided to trust them… BBBIIIIIIIGGGGG mistake. We didn’t even make it home! We drove for a hour stopped to pick up our children from the babysitters and the truck wouldn’t start! The fuel pump was so old and bad that the plastic around the wiring was melted off. When we called them we got told that they could fix it for us but they would have to charge us, however if we fixed it ourselves they would refund us the cost of the part. Got it fixed up, and took it in to be registered; turned out that I didn’t have all of the paperwork and there was paperwork not filled out properly. I had to then drive all way back down to Ogden to get the right paperwork. It was then that I was informed that they were not going to refund the full amount only a fourth of the amount! Plus she proceeded to tell me that I really got a heck of a deal because she had already sold it for 700 $ more than we bought it. I really doubt that one.
But the story doesn’t end there. The Friday after we had bought it I took it in for a oil change found out that it hadn’t had a oil change since February of 2015! Asked the guy who is our mechanic to check it over to see what else was wrong. $ 3000 later I finally have a trustworthy truck! Don’t just walk away from these guys RUN AWAY in fact AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE THEY ARE!

Well after my 2300 mile trip from Rhode Island to California I ran into a few problems with my 2001 Dodge Ram Diesel… I found My Mechanic online after searching for a few other shops in the area with an opening as i was in a hurry to get to California. I called My Mechanic up and told them the types of issues i was having with my truck (Bucking surging, insane loss of power, and just overall poor drive-ability) The Mechanic Steve told me to bring it in and he would check it out right away! Upon arriving at the shop everyone there was very friendly and helpful as i had a lot of questions! Every one of them was answered and i could tell they knew what they were doing. within 1 hour Steve and the other tech Jeremy had a diagnosis on my truck and they were able to get an almost impossible to find and very expensive Injection Pump within 3 hours and at a GREAT PRICE! Steve worked on my truck for only a few hours and got it back up and running…
I called a friend of mine back in Rhode Island who works at a shop how much a job like that would run at his shop and they told me id be looking at a little over $ 3,000!!! I got the job done and DONE RIGHT at my mechanic for wayyy less than that.
I am very happy with my experience at My Mechanic. They fit me in while i was in a hurry did the impossible and got me back on the road FAST!!!
THANKS STEVE JEREMY AND HEIDI! If i ever have another issue along my travels in Utah i will for sure be going back.

Steve was incredibly helpful and awesome. He fixed the problem on my car in less that thirty minutes and sent me on my way. A happy customer who plans on coming back!
I ripped the handle off my passenger door– he fixed it. I am so pleased. Seriously hard working awesome place. Go here for awesome service.

Yikes!!! I guess My Mechanic has recently started selling cars and I must say the world would be a better place if they hadn’t! To preface, I met Mark (a salesman for My Mechanic) at a golf course and he told me about a 2005 Subaru that they had for sell. He quoted me a price and told me to come down and check out the vehicle. This morning I woke up and headed over to check it out. After looking at the vehicle and taking it for a test drive, Mark had me talk to Steve (one of the mechanics) to get a little bit more of the back story on the vehicle… this is where things got ridiculous.
After talking to the mechanic we were close to agreeing on the purchase of the vehicle for the asking price that Mark had quoted earlier. It was at this point that the mechanic said that he had another customer lined up to buy the vehicle for more money In a couple of days. I told them that I had the cash and was ready to buy the car right then and there. Mark and the mechanic began backtracking the deal and told me they were going to sell the vehicle to this other person that wasn’t there and who wasn’t going to be buying the car for another couple of days! I learned very quickly that they put money way higher than honesty and customer satisfaction. After spending hours of my day commuting and checking out the vehicle I was told that they wouldn’t sell the vehicle to me for the price it had been quoted. I hope that I can teach them that money is not more valuable than your word. They cannot be trusted! Stay very far away! HORRIBLE BUSINESS!

I know nothing about cars. I’m a 21 year old college student who knows nothing about the engine, make even less about estimates on repairs. All I know is I need new tags, so an emissions and safety test was mandatory, and after Unilocaling, I decided to drive a good distance from North Ogden to come check it out.
From the start I was greeted with a big smile and a how can I help you (which is reassuring when you don’t know what you’re really doing), I proceeded to ask about estimates on the emissions, turns out it was only THIRTY 30 dollars! For a broke college kid that’s sweet! Then the genuinely sweet receptionist asked if I also needed a safety inspection (say what??) I said I don’t know so she went to go ask and turned out I did, $ 15 not complaining.
Turns out I needed a new tire (I really did) to pass my safety and I felt no pressure to buy anything there. She took the time to look up where I could find the cheapest replacement, even her husband the mechanic gave me a few directions, so I left jolly searching for the new tire.
Coming back with the new tire, any questions I had were professionally, kindly, easily and considerately answered to a know-nothing like me. They did not leave me feeling stupid or ignorant but they did leave me feeling confident about my car!
Millions of thanks to My Mechanic for being so awesome! Any future car problems, I know I have a reliable, trustworthy and completely local professional to help me through it!
