Ed Harbertson Sr. started a salvage yard in his own back yard in 1947, taking in scrap metal of all kinds including war surplus.
In 1950, Harbertson bought a property at 17th and Wall Avenue in Ogden and continued his business there until the City of Ogden requested that he move due to a new city beautification project that was entering that area.
He complied, moving to 555 W. 12th St. in 1957, where the Harbertson family continued to operate the salvage business until Allied Metals opened there in 2006 to provide all of your recycling needs.
