Don’t order food here. Went for pizza when it was their food of the night. They basically just threw in some nasty frozen pizzas and not for long enough. We waited forever and they were still wet and cold in the middle. So nasty. My husband liked the brew selection hence the two stars instead of one. But, imo, if you’re going to serve food even if it’s not your main specialty it should be edible. Could have had a better meal for less at home.

Floating black pieces (bugs?) in my water. That is all that needs to be said here. We came on a Saturday night as my dad is quite the craft beer lover. None of us were very impressed.
The space — pretty large, with a cork dart board that I can appreciate. However they should really replace the cork as almost none of the darts were sticking. A group of rather loud people came in around 7 and were shouting profanities. Workers didn’t seem to care, but we definitely did. I would never bring a family here after that.
The beer — just okay. Not the best, not the worst. They have a lot of sour beer so if you’re into that then it might be worth checking out.
The water — floating black things. So gross. When I asked for a new glass the new glass had the same floating black things.
Service was just okay. We won’t be back.

Great beer! I have been to many breweries and this was my favorite.

Decent beer some of it is great some of it is not. It really all depends on your taste buds. Love the George jalapeño beer it pairs great with a bloody on Sunday.
Fish tacos and jalapeño poppers are a must.

I’m a little torn on giving this place 3 stars. I think they garnered a 3.5, but since that isn’t an option I gotta go with 3 since the beers were okay.
As the other reviews state, this place is out there — not on the main drag and you definitely need to map your way to this place. I almost went to the wrong side of the building as well. But once you get inside, it is decidedly nicer than the outside. We had gone in mid afternoon and it was certainly a strange mix of people. There were a few older couples at tables, a few younger couples and then a rowdy group or two. There seemed to only be 2 people working, one at the bar and one in the back making food — so it was a little slow, but I really didn’t have anything better to do, so no big deal. They had samplers so we got two samplers so we could try all the beers they had on tap — 12 total. There were certainly ones that I did not like, but also some good ones. Overall the beer was better than some craft microbrews, but I didn’t think it was special or something I’d go out of my way for, but I do like supporting local businesses — so glad I went to check it out.

Great out of the way brew spot. About 16 brew on tap. Flight of 6 5oz pours for $ 14. Great selection of beer. Handful of sours, different seasonal blends, and a surprisingly different tasting «jelly belly buttered popcorn» tasting beer which is actually tasty. I will not tell you which one tastes like it but rather leave if up to you to decide. I recommend the stop out, as I drove from Milwaukee to experience it. Definitely worth the afternoon trip.

Cute little out of the way place. It seems like they’re trying to find their identity and the place was quiet, missing energy but I’m going to guess its because of the time of day we were here. Don’t know where the Spanish and Tapas description comes from unless they tried offering that initially. The menu now is very basic pub fare with 3 appetizers and 3 menu items with fish tacos offered on Fridays.
It’s worth a try since I believe in supporting local business over giant breweries!

What a hidden gem! I have lived in the area for a long time and just discovered the brewery. The beer selection is outstanding, as is the quality of the beer. The staff was super friendly and very helpful — offering samples of the beer and providing recommendations. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Visited 7÷10÷15. Seems like they are going through some changes. No kitchen due to revamping the menu. However, They will give you peanuts & handmade soft pretzels for free. The beer is solid. We did 5, 5 oz tasters for $ 14 and liked them all. They said they just changed the way they do tasters too. The space inside is nice. It is in an industrial area just outside a neighborhood. I will be back. Hopefully they will have the menu up and running by then (no date given).

Come for the mullets, stay for the beer! Sweet Mullets is a diamond in the rough hidden within a sleepy industrial park. When I rolled up I was afraid they were closed, but once I found the entrance I was greeted by an amiable bartender proffering a mighty selection of fine brews. I enjoyed the Celebration beer, which was refreshing, and was pleasantly surprised by just how smooth the Bira Belgian Imperial Red Ale was. I look forward to going again and trying some of the up and coming tap beers. The wide selection should accommodate most palate types – bring your friends!

Stopped in on a Monday night place was busy the brewmaster was there he sat down talk to us the beers are absolutely great nice flavor T-​shirts were awesome that we bought they had complementary popcorn peanuts and pretzels parental discretion. The kitchen was closed they only serve pizza and pretzels

Descriptive phrase: hidden brewery and snackery.
I knew Sweet Mullets Brewing Company was out in Oconomowoc, but I still underestimated just how off the main drag they are. Google Maps is your best friend. Housed in a large industrial garage, Sweet Mullets actually spiffed up the place with dark, heavy woods and plenty of light.
We tried a sampler of all 11 of their beers for a reasonable price. Be prepared: most of their beers are unique and a little out there, but what’s life without a little (beer-​filled) adventure? If you’re hungry they have a small kitchen that whipped us up some better-​than-​expected snacks. While it’s not easy to get to, next time I’m driving through O-​Town I’ll certainly stop at Sweet Mullets again.

Best name ever! If beer is your thing, especially craft beer brewed on premise than you must check this place out. It is a bit hard to find because it’s in an industrial park but it’s worth seeking out. The jalapeño brew was my favorite. They have a neat but small menu. I found food prices a bit on the high side. For example the cheese sampler plate was high quality but the portion size was definitely fit more for a super model and not your typical cheesehead from WI. The place is cute. Bathrooms were clean but as someone else mentioned, it had a local vibe for sure. Not a bad thing but don’t expect hugs and kisses when you walk in the door if your not from around these parts.

The service here was excellent and so was the beer. The bartender that served us was clearly really knowledgeable about the beer. She gave us three different beers to try when we told her we liked IPA. She was also very attentive. The beers were all very nice; I went with the Belgian style IPA. It was a nice combination of citrus and banana. We also had a couple of snacks that were yummy. I’m from the area but live in the SF Bay Area now, so I have had a lot of craft beer between Wisconsin and California. It’s great to see such a nice place has opened up in Oconomowoc!

Is there anything sweeter than a mullet? How about beer?
I first stumbled across this brewery at a local festival where they poured Jorge with a dash of heat from jalapeño. On a recent trip across the state, the coordinates to visit the brewery were in place.
Off the beaten path is an understatement; do not lose hope when it seems you are in the middle of a residential area. Once you arrive at the warehouse, follow the signs around the side to the front door. Trust me… you are still headed in the right direction! Plus, everyone knows some of the best brewpubs are tucked away in a warehouse.
Once inside (see — you made it!) things immediately warm with an ample bar, plenty of seating and several TVs to watch your favorite sports ball team. Sweet Mullets even offers darts, and not the silly plastic tip kind. Real darts!
Hungry? Check out what the kitchen cooked up or enjoy one of their delicious beers. Growler fills are also available. In addition to Jorge, I also enjoy a couple of the sours like Aprikose and RASP.
When in and around Lake Country, be sure to check away this gem just a hop, skip and jump away from it all.

Wonderful tasting room. My parents live about 10 minutes away from this delightful Godsend and I couldn’t be happier to have finally found it.
Beer: The tasting boards have slots for 16 beers and I was happy to sample everything they had on tap which was 12 at the time. It was great tasting everything but I have to admit I am NOT a sour beer person and three of their elite beers are sour. Fun to taste but not my thing. One standout for me was Jorge (the jalepeno one). This surprised me because I was expecting some spicy heat but what I got was wonderfully subtle jalepeno flavor and it was fun to drink. I thought the Pumpkinstein was a nice surprise as I’m not usually a pumpkin beer fan. My favorites were Dark Matter (love stouts and porters) and the Steinbier. Oh so smooth with a touch of sweetness.
Food: Pretzels were yummy. Others at my table had the poppers and a cheese board and seemed very pleased.
Atmosphere: I came in with a large group of family and a few friends over Labor Day weekend and we all had a fantastic time. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly and we were probably a bit loud but nobody seemed to mind. We also had three children with us (two babies and a 4 year old) and I would say that Sweet Mullets was family friendly — which is luckily how I find most tasting rooms to be. Tasting rooms are NOT bars.
I can’t wait to come back whenever I am in the area. I’m especially looking forward to some Bloody Marys on Sundays (weird to have at a brewery when the beer is so tasty but they looked so good!)

First of all I know it is a beer place but bring some water if you drink water with your meal b/​c their water tastes like a fart smells… just sayin! There beers were okay, I didn’t love any of them. Liked some. Their smoked brisket was amazing!!!

We will not be returning here any time soon. My friends and I were treated very rudely by the staff on a recent visit.
We stopped in Sweet Mullets recently to help a good friend celebrate her birthday. My husband and I, along with several friends, made up a party of 8 people. The staff was not very accommodating to our group. Usually a good serving team comes by to check on your group often — not to drop a basket of pretzels and walk off without saying a word. After a while it was apparent (by their sour glances, astringent attitudes and off hand comments to us), they just wanted us gone.
My husband ordered the Captain Pilsner beer, and I got the 501 Red. Both were very underwhelming and lacked the taste I have experienced at other brew pubs. My husband’s Captain had a very funky taste and smell to it. Price-​wise, I thought it was very high — $ 9.00 for two beers? Two beers that they brew on site? Seriously? How ’bout coming down to earth here. This isn’t New Glarus.
My group started playing a card game — Cards Against Humanity. Yes, it’s more of an «adult» game — but — again, this is a bar. «Adult» conversations happen here. And yes, some members of our group were laughing and loud, but we were having a good time, and isn’t that what you want to have people do in your establishment?
At first one of the owners came and told us she really liked this game, it was very fun, etc — but, if any kids came in we would have to keep the card reading /​swearwords to a minimum. That’s fine, and perfectly understandable — except this is an establishment that serves beer — it’s a brewpub. So technically if children are brought in, they have to be with an adult. It goes without saying that if you bring a child into a bar or a brewpub, don’t expect people to automatically turn into a schoolmarm, right?
One of the owners then came by and said we were supposed to be using our «inside voices.» With apologies to the other 2 patrons in the establishment — the building is very sparsely decorated and echos quite a bit, even if you are being quiet. And honestly if we wanted to have gone to a library, we would have.
The passive-​aggressiveness of the whole situation was rather disheartening, and frankly, surprising since the group we were with dropped quite a bit of money there. I didn’t understand why they would single out a group of 8 people who are clearly there to 1. spend money, 2. buy their beer, 3. order their food, and 4. have a good time. Was it to cater to the other 2 patrons in the establishment? We’ll never know, and I probably won’t be back to find out. We wound up going down the street to the Mapleway Bowling Alley — not exactly where we saw ourselves going — but they were able to cater to our group and allowed us to have a good time. We wound up spending quite a bit of money there and I was happy to have our dollars go to a business that cared about, and catered to their patrons — not alienated them.
I had high hopes that this would be a ‘regular’ place for my husband and I, and my sister and brother-​in-​law — but alas, the rudeness by the owners was very clear indeed. Apparently ‘our kind’ was not very welcome. Point taken, Sweet Mullets! Very disappointing.

This was our second stop after arriving in Oconomowoc (the first being checking in at the Inn). Sweet Mullet’s is Oconomowoc’s first brew pub… and they’re doing it right!
When we were in they had six or eight beers on tap, plus a guest beer. Our favorite was the Autumn Leaf. I don’t know how they managed it, but this tastes like someone put fall in a bottle. It’s fresh, crisp, and so good we ended up getting a growler to take back to the Inn with us. Other high points were the IPAs and the red ale. I didn’t have a single beer here that I wouldn’t try again.
The staff were also great! We got there relatively late on a Wednesday night, and the cook had already left. However, the bartender heated the oven up and prepared everything we had been hoping to order, which was cool of her. She also gave us great tips of where to go in the area to purchase fresh cheese curds.
I really hope Sweet Mullet’s isn’t hurt by its location, which is a couple miles out of town. Not a big deal to me at all, but sometimes we get spoiled by having everything right there on Wisconsin. If you’re reading this and are on the fence about heading over to check it out, I really hope you decide to go. I highly recommend it!
