I bought a wetsuit there and a little tiny piece broke off the strap. Instead of helping me find a replacement for the part, they exchange the wetsuit and I was allowed to get a upgrade and pay the difference. They are the best and went above and beyond. Love this shop!

Surf Ride is a pretty neat surf shop with locations in both Oceanside and Solana Beach. This particular location is fairly large and has an excellent selection of boards, waxes, gears and even a fully stocked skate shop. The service is solid and the products sold are extremely well made. Overall, a bit commercial but a solid surf shop located within walking distance to the water.

Horrible customer service staff not friendly. I stop by the Surf Ride Shop in Oceanside on Coast Hwy to purchase board shorts for my daughters boyfriend. Having never been in their shop before I was looking around trying to find the board shorts. The staff members were standing around talking did not offer to help me or ask me if there was anything that they could help with. They were not that busy. I figured being that it is the Christmas season they would like to make sale apparently not. I will never shop at a Surf Ride shop again.

We recently held an event down in Oceanside and had the benefit of SurfRide offering our kids surf lessons. We had an AWESOME and ENJOYABLE experience with SurfRide surf Camp and would recommend them to anyone interested in lessons. They truly were an awesome group and were so patient with our kids. Xavier helped me pick out my entire surf setup as I had no idea what I was looking for. Very helpful! Their online inventory is larger than all others I found too. Will definitely shop with them again.

Great shop has a huge selection of new and used surfboards along with a nice skate shop. The staff is super friendly and knowledgable. As a beginner surfer didn’t really know much but the staff talked to me and helped choose a board that would be right for me. Never pressured me into a board I didn’t need or want. Great deals on everything so go check them out.

I have received some of the best customer service here, than I have experienced anywhere else in the past 5+ yrs. These guys truly bend over backwards to help you find a good board and take care of you throughout the entire process pre/​post sale. I had an issue with some fins that I purchased and these guys spoke on my behalf to the fin manufacturer and made the situation right… needless to say they put customers first and I am really impressed with the dudes that run the boardroom! Can’t speak highly enough about this down to earth establishment and will definitely be giving them my business in the future. Thanks Surf Ride!

I’ve been going to this store for thirteen years now and they never disappoint. This store has everything you need. They have in style clothing, shoes, flip flops, and an enormous supply of beach, body board, and surfing gear on the second floor (this includes an endless supply of new and used surfboards). And the icing on the cake is the store’s employees superb customer service. Every time I go there I am greeted by the staff and asked if I need help. Just yesterday when my wife and I were trying on wet suits, one of the employees who was clearly on a break on his way to the break area asked if we needed help. I did ask him a question and instead of directing me to someone else, providing an effortless answer, or scoffing at my question, he was very helpful. I personally think customer service is what makes or breaks a business and they’ve always been great. That’s why I’ve been a devoted customer for so long.
To sum this review up, if you’re looking for a great surf shop to go to, this is the place!

This is hands down the best place to shop for a new surf board. From a beginning surfer to professional, they have everything you need. Travis was especially helpful!

Awesome surf shop!
My daughter just had a birthday and she asked for a new board and wet suit. I knew this was the go to place as I have been here a few times prior and the selection is awesome. I wanted her to be able to choose from hundreds, so she could get the one that was just right for her.
The guy upstairs was super helpful. You could tell he was a surfer himself and has the knowledge needed. He helped up pick out a great board and took the time to ask my daughter where the grips should be, etc. The wet suit selection is extensive as well. If you are here looking for either a board or a wet suit and cannot find what you are looking for, I would be very surprised.
Although I walked out of there spending over $ 1200, I was super please with the staff and their friendliness. They also through in the fins, grip and some wax for free. We will definitely be back for all our surfing needs!

Every now and then your inner surfer calls out and wants to look the part. This is the place to pick up all your styling surfer garb.

This place is the Woolworths of surf shops. Went in a week ago and got great customer service, they’ve got awesome deals and a great variety of everything from nice kicks, skirts, and wet suits. Will totally be back.

Super rude staff. Disrespectful and treated my brother and I like we were dumb. Also, they told us the fins we were buying were only $ 40 but when we were rung up, they were $ 80. This wasn’t the only thing they lied to us about. We won’t be back there.

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE in San Diego County! Other shops have great help randomly… Oceanside Surf Ride Dominates in customer service! Every single person who works there is awesome at this… hands down over 7 years of buying surf gear and stuff, never once have I gone in there and wished I had gotten someone else to help. Even over the phone They Rule!

I’m an old man. Back in the day (before I joined the daily 8 – 5 grind) I use to surf and be young. I decided that I wanted to get back into it this summer and needed a new board. I did a little research and found a few boards that I wanted to look at, and I emailed several stores (Surf Ride, Jacks, Ride Shack, Huntington Surf and Sport) because I didn’t want to go there unless they had them in stock. Well, nobody got back to me except Surf Ride. So, I was happy to make the hour drive down there from Long Beacg just for the fact that they were courteous enough to answer an email.
Well, so I go down to Surf Ride and was really surprised by the selection they had. They had all the brands (Firewire, Haydenshapes, Lost, CIS, JS) I wanted to see, in the sizes I needed. Josh, came up to me right away and asked if I needed help. I laid it out unembarrasingly and said «I’m an old man and need something that’s easy to paddle and catch waves with, and will be good for a break like Huntington or Bolsa Chica.»
Josh was very friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. He showed me several different boards, showed me the differences in design and what that might do, and then laid out the 3 that seemed right for me next to each other. He explained the differences in shape and tail designs, and answered all my questions. In the end, I chose a Hypto Krypto, mainly because it would be easy to paddle and versatile for different conditions (and it looked the best). Josh reassured me that any 3 would have been good choices, and that I would like this one.
All in all, I strongly recommend that you go to Surf Ride if you are looking for a board. They have so many to choose from, the sales people are helpful, and you won’t regret it.

This review is for Surf Ride Surf Shop in Oceanside. They have the largest selection of wetsuits, surfboards, accessories, and clothing in North County that I’ve seen! But the main reason I am writing this review is because I was buying my first surfboard and was happy that I had a very laid back, cool, expert named Josh helping me. I had been doing quite a bit of research the past few months and going into various shops. I have to say that Josh was by far the best.
I had narrowed down my choices and Josh patiently explained to me some of the differences and advantages of various boards, including ones I had not previously considered. In addition, I found that as someone who started surfing in the past year that Josh took my questions seriously and he seemed truly interested in making sure that I found a board that would suit me. At some of the other shops I went to in North County, I felt ignored or pushed into a much larger board than I think I would need.
I bought a beautiful Walden board and Josh installed the fins and helped me learn how to tie down the board properly to my car rack. I am a very happy surfer! Thanks so much, Josh! I will definitely come to shop at Surf Ride Surf Shops in Oceanside again!
