Alexis is awesome! On my first visit, she squeezed me in last minute at the end of her day (which I didn’t expect). She was super sweet, gave me a ton of advice, and transformed my hair! I’m so happy I found her!

I moved to Oceanside back in 2011, but refused to go to anyone but my stylist back at where my parents live (8 hours away). I finally decided to take the plunge and find a stylist down here. In February, I went to Natalie to get a color correction done on my hair. It was a reddish brown and I wanted to go back to blonde. She was able to do it in one go and my hair looked phenomenal. So this past weekend, I decided I wanted to cut my hair. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she gave me suggestions to make it look better when my hair is naturally in its curly state. Needless to say, I am so in love with my hair and am so happy to have found Natalie. She is now my go-​to girl whenever I need something done with my hair.

Love my new color and haircut! Christine did an amazing job! I have thick, curly hair and Christine knew exactly what to do with it and the color is amazing. I’ve received so many compliments on my new look and I owe it all to her, I couldn’t be happier!

Natalie Walters is the stylist to see if you want a stylist that takes their time, is fantastic at what they do, and leaves you feeling good. I have been going to her for a few years now and I will continue to as long as she does hair. :)

As a serial salon-​hopper, I’m so glad I finally found «the one»! I’ve actually been to this salon in the past and while I loved it, I wasn’t quite ready for commitment… until a few months ago. I’ve seen Alexis twice now for haircuts and couldn’t be happier. She’s just awesome. I love what she does with my hair, plus her customer service is on point. She asks questions and gives feedback as well as advice. I’ve never been very good at doing my own hair (read: I brush it… sometimes.) but since starting a new job where I have a lot of face to face time with customers I’ve been trying to get more into actually styling my hair. Alexis taught this hair dummy a few tricks that have helped immensely! She also suggested some minor changes to my cut that would work better with my hair type (long, straight, and on the thinner side), and the results have been wonderful.

First off I have to say they were able to fit me in at the very last minute when I decided I didn’t want to do my own hair so that’s a plus. The lady I had was Thao and she was very friendly. She said the products she used were all organic and that was a big plus because I am pregnant and didn’t want to be inhaling all the chemicals. The studio is beautiful with lots of Windows to let in the sun light. When I first arrived Thao wasn’t there but the other hairstylist offered me hot tea or water which was really nice.
When Thao arrived (she was right on time for our appointment) she looked at what I wanted (curls all around and half pulled back… Pretty simple) and got all her supplies set up. Usually stylists have to use a small barrel to get the curls I want because my hair it thick and the curls fall pretty easily. She used a medium barrel and curled my hair in rather large chunks so I knew it wasn’t going to hold but I try not to be a know it all when I can’t even really style my own hair. In the end I think she got frustrated with the semipoof I wanted and it didn’t look good in the front. When she gave me the mirror to check the back it looked kinda like a rats nest but I ran out of time to get it fixed and kept my mouth shut.
Again Thao was really nice and they did fit me in very last minute so I can’t complain much. I ended up fixing it really quick when I got home and tried to stand/​sit with my back to the wall. Maybe she just felt rushed or needs more experience with up dos.

I cannot rave enough of Alexis! She does AMAZING work! I was referred to her by a family member and I am so happy I had the chance to get my hair done by her. She did such an amazing job doing a balayage on me! It turned out amazing!!! She made me feel very comfortable as she was working on my hair. She is very knowledgable when it comes to what products are best for your hair and gave me suggestions on how to keep my hair healthy. I will be coming back for touch ups and hair cuts for sure! She was very flexible and very accommodating with my appointments! She will go on and beyond for you and I love that about her.
The salon itself is freaking awesome! I love the environment in there. It’s a very interesting place that has a tattoo shop vibe. It’s super chill there and it really hits home.

Natalie has been my go to girl for anything hair related! From cuts, to coloring, curling and braids, Natalie has helped me a lot with trying to maintain my super wavy hair. For the new year, I wanted to cut a good chunk of my hair off, dye it back to all black then add random red streaks to it. Natalie was very confident and supportive of my random decision. The red streaks came out great on the black hair! My hair looks a lot more healthy now and I’m happy the color turned out the way I imagined. Looking forward to my next visit to Studio 514 :)

I went in with an idea and went the total opposite way, I had Natalie and she is freaking amazing! She was so helpful and nice, once I had gotten home I realized it wasn’t as light as I had anticipated and she took me back in and helped reach the color goal with out hesitation. By far the best experience Iv had in a salon since moving here. She was awesome and I won’t be going me to anyone but her from now on! Thank you again Natalie you’re amazing !

I love this place! Christine is amazing! She listens to exactly what I say, she has many years of experience and she will be honest and tell me what is the best look and which style is the best functional and style for my lifestyle. Love it and would highly recommend!

Heidi’s been doing my hair for over a year now and I couldn’t have asked for anyone else! Hair Day is a special day for me; its that time where you can treat yourself to something awesome and pretty in an energetic, yet comfortable environment at the studio. Everyone who works there is really friendly, outgoing, and helpful. Plus they have a great selection of hair products to choose from! Heidi is very talented and is quick to absorb whatever quirky style and fun colors I’m feeling at the time. She’s never burnt my hair with too many chemicals, she’s continuously nurtured my mane back to good health. I have always left with a big ol smile on my face and am always, always looking forward to my next hair day! Y’all rock!

I was introduced to Brittany Shuff through my cousin this year, and boy have I met my hair soulmate!!!
I have been dying my hair a deep burgundy red for 6 years and wanted to go back blonde and also wanted the latest trend of ombré/​biolage. If you know hair, bleach can be very damaging and red is the hardest color to get out. Brittany not only did exactly what I asked for, because of her knowledge and experience in the industry, was able to keep my hair healthy and still long, which girls lets be honest, we never want to cut our hair! Each time I have gone in I always keep changing the blonde I want, and she always complies and makes sure to do it in a healthy way and will let me know if she thinks its too extreme, but will always let me know what could be great options to build to that level.
She is simply the best and I wont let anyone else touch my hair again! You rock Brittany and thank you for my beautiful blonde locks!

Christine is awesome! Best color and cut I’ve EVER had. Been going to her for 2 years and she’s always been consistent and provided an fun and relaxing experience in the salon.
Christine fixed my terrible red color when I first met her and has taken me through every color I could dream up! Blonde, brunette, gorgeous purple; each one with so much depth and never boring. She has the ability to listen to what I like and make it work for my hair type. Super short or super long, the cut wears beautifully over time and she’s able to give my hair a fresh, edgy feel every time I see her.
She did my hair and my sister’s hair for my wedding. Not only did she suggest amazing options for our very different hair, but she created a fun atmosphere for all the girls getting ready with us and was BEYOND accommodating for whatever I needed day of.

So I’m not much of a hair person (I get a haircut about once or twice a year) and when that time comes around I make sure that I’m going to the best. NATALIE is great!!! She’s so sweet, patient and makes sure your getting the experience you deserve. I’ve finally found my go to fairy hair mother! Lol

Christine is THE BEST! I had just moved to California and randomly called her salon and they set me up with her. The moment I walked in and saw her style I knew I was in the best of hands! She is honest and will tell you what will compliment your face shape and personal style. Every time I leave I’m happy! She is so incredibly sweet and down to earth. I’ll never need any other hair stylist!
The ship itself is rad. I love the décor and it’s always clean. I’m so glad I found this place!

I Love this Salon! I got my hair done by Alexis she was super sweet and knowledgeable! She did an amazing job on my hair! She really took the time to listen to what I wanted done and she exceeded my expectations. She did a full head of highlights. I absolutely love how my hair color turned out! I’ve actually been going to Studio 514 now for about three years, and though I rave about the place to everyone I know, I haven’t thought to leave a review. I refuse to get my hair cut anywhere else or by anyone who isn’t Christine. Not only is she an incredibly talented stylist with good instincts and a passion for what she does, but she’s also super fun and chill and makes the whole haircut/​style appointment thing comfortable. I’m a bit weird with stylist-​client small talk, and I used to put off getting my hair done because I didn’t want to deal with any of it. Christine has made getting my hair done enjoyable again, and she finally convinced me to do something different and play with color. I couldn’t be happier with my hair. I trust her completely; you will too! Give it a go!
A few notes about the salon: the vibe is really unique. The place is situated in a little courtyard, there’s always a nice breeze coming in, and everyone is always relaxed and having a good time. They’ve always got good music going, they offer you coffee/​tea/​water, and they’ll even let you order food/​drinks from the neighboring restaurants if you’re there for a longer service or waiting for your appointment. The salon uses a mostly (all?) natural product line that smells amazing and does great things for my hair. I’m moving out of the area at the end of summer, but I already have plans to drive back every few months for this place. It’s that good.
