History

Established in 2014.

Signature Veterinary Services was established to provide individualized patient care and exceptional customer service.

We provide in-​home wellness, consultation, ultrasound, euthanasia, and aftercare services for dogs and cats located in south Orange County, north San Diego County, and west Riverside County.

We are committed to client communication; high quality medicine; and, customized preventive care in the comfort of our patients’ homes. We treat your pets with the same compassion with which we treat our own.

Dr. Laura F.

Business Owner

Dr. Laura Fontana is originally from Hockessin, DE. Laura was drawn to animals of all kinds.

Laura earned an Honors degree in Animal Science from the University of Delaware in 2005 and then attended the Virginia-​Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VMRCVM). After graduating from VMRCVM in 2009, Laura completed an internship at Fairfield Equine Associates, in Newtown, CT.

Laura moved to Northern Virginia and worked part-​time for 2 equine practices. In 2011, she accepted an Associate position with Home Veterinary Care, a full service, ambulatory small animal practice, where she expanded her experience. To fulfill a long-​term dream, in 2013, Laura relocated to Southern California, where she has continued to provide veterinary care to dogs, cats, and horses.

In March 2014 she established Signature Veterinary Services, a small animal house call practice, because she deeply values the individualized patient care and customer service that mobile practice affords.

We knew that it was inevitable that we would have to put our beloved Black Lab Kay to rest at some point. She was almost 16 years old and quite the fighter in hanging on to life. The time ultimately came to make the decision to end her pain. It was one of the most difficult decisions ever. We were and continue to be broken hearted and miss her so very much. We wanted the end to be very peaceful and as comfortable as possible for all of us. Dr Fontana was one of the most caring people I have ever met. I would not wish this decision on anyone, but given the many years of love and friendship that Kay had given us this was the least that we could do. Blessings to Dr. Fontana and her staff. We highly recommend and praise her.

Dr Fontana has taken excellent care of our 4 kitties in our times of need. Having an at-​home vet that is so caring and thorough is such a relief! No more traumatic trips to the vet for our felines – they can receive care at home where they feel safe. Our most recent experience with her included testing and labs with results that were swiftly provided and she followed up multiple times with us to ensure we was taken care of completely. I highly recommend Signature Veterinary Services and count our family lucky to have someone this talented nearby.

We had to put our beagle, Rusty down earlier this week and wanted to do it at home as a family. We found Laura here on Unilocal and are glad we did. She was caring and loving toward Rusty and what we were going through. She took her time and ensured Rusty was comfortable. Her pricing is very affordable and her ‘bedside manner’ is first class. She has my highest recommendation and we will be contacting her in the future for care of our other dog.

My cats HATE riding in the car to the Vet so my daughter recommended Dr. Laura. I had been taking my cats to a Vet that specialized in cats since living in Orange County. My male cat started having a problem defecating outside of, but near, his box. My original vet thought it was behavioral. Dr. Laura diagnosed and treated him for an anal gland problem that immediately solved the problem. She is very gentle and caring with my cats, which is very important to me. Dr. Laura is also excellent in following up on any treatment, being available and remembering your household personally. I give her 5 Stars+

I love signature veterinary. I have a German Shorthair Pointer who has a lump on her side. I called Laura and she was there the next day examined my dog, took a sample from the lump and got back to me the same day. I don’t know how I could have expected better service. My dog was calm and comfortable in her own home and Laura also checked back to make sure everything is well. I would recommend Signature Veterinary to anyone.

Dr. Laura came into our lives in the most gracious and touching way possible! Our Golden Lab, Roscoe was diagnose with fast spreading bone cancer and we did not want him to suffer any longer. He was unable to walk, let alone hop into a car to go for check up etc. She was there to make sure the transition was peaceful and it was such a neat experience and touching for all of us after shedding many tears and heartfelt hugs.
She is now our Stanley’s vet, (a little terrier, who is a rescue) he can not stand car rides, hence Dr. Laura’s house visit is crucial to our well being, it is less traumatic for him! We adore her kind and gentle hands and to top it off her huge heart for animals.
Thanks Laura for the Loving way you care and assist our household buddies (pets) who is a huge part of our family!

Dr. Laura is a Rockstar! She truly cares about animals as well as their owners. I met Dr. Laura at a Petco vaccination clinic. She was highly knowledgeable about my peakognese and her allergies coming from the east coast. She gave me her card and followed up with me a couple of months later. She remembered me and asked how Bella was doing, offering me some advice and offering any further help I may need. She goes above and beyond! The best Vet and she is officially our Vet now!

My 19 year old cat Lily had some complications from her diabetes and she had to be put to sleep (after a 10 year battle). Lily always hated to go to the vet (which was often, in order to regulate her blood sugars). I made a promise to her years ago that she would never take her last breath at a vet’s office. When that time came, I called Laura and her assistant. They made a very difficult time much easier. They even saved a lock of her fur for me. I am so thankful I found such a caring and true advocate for animals with Signature Vet. My other cat, recently had a bad acne condition recently which was cured by Laura and so far has not come back (who would have thought a cat can have acne?). Anyhow, she is simply the best vet around!

We have had Dr. Fontana treat our German Shepherd, Bear, and two cats, Waimea & Balboa several times now for vaccines, microchipping and the like at her mobile clinic at The Animal Keeper. Her prices are the best in town, she has a calm demeanor and treats the animals with kindness and compassion and they really seem to relax with her. She also explains everything to us very clearly. We will continue to see Dr. Fontana in the future and appreciate all she has done for us and our furry babies.

Dr. Fontana has helped us with our kitties for a couple years now, and we can’t even fathom taking them to see anyone else. Dr. Fontana is professional, kind, knowledgeable, and takes the time to love on our animals, and make sure they’re comfortable — as well as taking the time to explain everything in layman’s terms, to us! We love her so much we have already recommended her to more than 3 of our friends and family members, who have since moved their animals to Dr. Fontana’s practice as well. I highly recommend Dr. Fontana! I have quite a few dogs and cats and it is so convenient to have her come to the home and care for my animals. She is very educated, compassionate and her follow through more than exceeds my expectations. Unfortunately, I recently had to put a very old cat down and was hysterical… Dr Fontana came out to my house at night (after she had a full day) and talked me off a ledge and peacefully put my cat down. I knew Dr. Fontana was a special person when she bent over and kissed my dear old cat on the head. A true professional and a great vet!!! Don’t waste your time-​this is your vet.
