The Service was horrible. They didn’t even recognize my presence for a good while. Then when they did see me, they treated me as if I was wasting their time. Mind you there was no one else in the store, the whole time.

I took a ride to Long Beach despite the cold and snow. It had been a week since my last ride. I usually do a 40 mile ride 5 times a week. I was in serious withdrawal; suffering deficits in all of the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits a good ride provides me with. Halfway down Long Beach Rd on my way back to Flushing I got a flat. I fixed it behind the IHOP with numb and white fingers. Unfortunately there was a troublesome bulge in the valve area that would have caused a re-flat in short time. At that point I could not move my hands enough to reset the tire on the rim. Down the road a bit is Oceanside Cycle and the owner, I gather to be Scott. He refitted the tire, gave me the opportunity to warm up, and even offered me a hot chocolate all for a small fee. Excellent service by any standard. 5 stars!

Listen, I know your business probably isn’t booming and you hate the world for it, but when I tell you I want 26×2.2 tubes and you spend a solid minute trying to convince me that 26×1.6 is the same thing, you deserve to have no customers. I was never asked what kind of riding they’d be used for or whether I’d be inflating them to the maximum pressure or what rims they’d be seated on, so I can only assume you know nothing, wanted this crap review and never wanted me to step foot in your store again. Success! Also, learn what a chainring spacer is, you fool.

The owner Scott was very brash… took a quick, 30 second look at my bike and proceeded to tell me I needed 400 dollars worth of repair. Only took it in for a service… the front shifter was broken but he offered no options… just 400 dollars. Took it to long beach and got it fixed and partially tuned for 60 bucks… Bike rides great. Horrible experience at oceanside cycles, I do not recommend them.

Amazing service. Been coming here forever and whenever I have an issue with my bike I go out of my way to get Oceanside(from NYC) to stop in. I’ll also never purchase a bike from anywhere else as they have so much knowledge, even to the point of steering me to a cheaper bike pump because it would attach to my bike better. Simply put they are amazing.

I have been dealing with this store for a few years and have purchased 2 bikes from it. Honestly — I have had better service and better prices elsewhere

What an amazing example of a community business with heart. I was in there for the first time the other day and it was a joy to experience the owner being so helpful to myself and his other customers. There is a genuine feeling you get from this establishment. I believe in patronizing business that care about its customers and also are experts in their field. Everyone works hard, but businesses that go the extra mile are the ones that stand out in my mind.

Very helpful with questions. This is a family owned business that loves what they do. I found that I got the answers I needed quickly and easily. Nice selection for a small store, and they did not try to «upsell» to me which was refreshing. Definitely a better choice to buy from than a large retailer, as I got exactly what I needed at a fair price.
