A root canal is never a pleasant encounter, but you can be sure of excellent care through Dr. Kim and his staff. They were immensely helpful in explaining my situation and answered any questions I had as the process went on. Just don’t laugh too hard during a procedure when you’re watching Comedy Central through their ceiling TV and headphones.

I had to have an emergency root canal and my experience has been fear and rude treatment by my dentists staff. What a delightful surprise to find Dr. Kim. The staff was very attentive and really seemed to care about my comfort and worked with me to pay my costs. Dr. Kim is so gentle and kind. I really had no pain. He’s the best!!! The women are too.

Getting a root canal done is never fun, and mine needed to get done a.s.a.p. I had little to no sleep the night before and was in a lot of pain the morning I went in. I was very pleased to hear that they would be able to see me the same day after other offices could not make the time.
Stephanie at the front desk was professional and friendly and answered all questions I had in the beginning of my visit.
Liza was a great assistant, other than her friendliness, she was very understanding of my pain and was gentle during the prep and treatment.
Dr Kim was very nice, he took time to talk to me about my tooth, helped me understand what was needed and what he recommended I should do concerning my tooth and infection. I chose to do 2 visits, as he recommended, to make sure the infection was taken care of and to insure that my tooth and treatment would be done correctly. I didn’t feel rushed or confused about anything.
Before we started the treatment I was given headphones to listen to TV along with a list of TV channels and movies to choose from to help me keep my mind off of what was being done. They also asked if I wanted a blanket to keep me warm which I found to be very comforting and cozy. :D
I just finished my 2^nd appointment today and received the same friendly, helpful treatment from the staff as I did before.

If I had to have another root canal done, which is not something I do want to have done, I’m just saying, at least I know where I’ll be going, and knowing is half the battle. ;)

Dr Kim and his staff made me feel comfortable from start to finish. He was very thorough with his work, and I was eased throughout the root canal. I hope I won’t need another root canal, but if I do, I’ll go to Dr Kim.

From the first phone call to the last, these people and this place are wonderful. They are friendly and willing to work with you on any matter regarding your dental work. The ladies at the front and Dr. Kim himself are professional and hardworking. They even offer you a blanket to use during your visit. They work through financial situations and don’t forget to call and check up on you within a day or two of receiving treatment. I would most definitely recommend this business to family and friends.

Dr. Kim and the staff at North San Diego Endodontics did a fantastic job on my root canal. I am a nervous patient, but my experience there was comfortable and as easy as could be. Everything was explained to me. I knew I was getting the best care possible. Dr. Kim is very thorough and makes sure everything is done right. The x-​ray equipment and microscope viewer are better than I’ve seen in other offices. After getting my crown at my usual dentist, I had some discomfort with my tooth, so I went back to Dr. Kim to check if the tooth was ok. He did x-​rays and assured me it was a bite issue. He adjusted the bite and meticulously checked it several times. Today I am pain free and can chew and enjoy hot coffee again. I would recommend Dr. Kim to everyone.

I was recommended to Dr. Kim from my regular dentist for a retreatment of an old root canal. Although Dr. Kim couldn’t fix my tooth in the end, he did everything he could to try and help save the tooth. He even treated it a second time to give it a try.
His staff is very nice and helpful. The TV’s in the ceilings are a nice touch.
And being a photographer, I love all the Ansel Adams prints and photography books in the waiting room!

I would highly recommend Dr. Kim. I choose him because of the other Unilocal reviews. I, too, thought I needed a root canal – after seeing my dentist. After the xrays and other tests, he determined I didn’t need one. He wanted to see me again, free of charge, a couple weeks later to make sure.

I needed a root canal and the endodontist that comes into my regular Dentists office only comes on Mondays. The Pain was so severe that I simply could not wait so they recommended me to Dr. Kim. I read his reviews and decided it would be a good choice. I called and he was able to see me the same day. I went into the office and it was clean, the staff was friendly and I was seen quickly. Once Dr. Kim had established the tooth that needed the root canal he got started. I was impressed by the upgraded technology they had at the office. Root canals can be long and at Dr. Kim’s office, they had a TV on the ceiling and they give you headphones so you don’t have to listen to constant drilling.
I am also unbelievably surprised with how my root canal feels today. I had it done on March 26^th, it is now March 30^th and I feel absolutely no pain. I felt pain for the first two days and now it has subsided. I have had two other root canals and the pain usually last for a week if not two. I am extremely happy with my results. Dr. Kim even worked late to accommodate me so that I didn’t need a second appointment (I get married in 19 days) which shows his commitment. I was extremely grateful.
I would recommend Dr. Kim to any of my friends or family. He is a perfectionist which is always appreciated in the field of endodontics.

I went to see Dr. Kim yesterday for an intermittent and sometimes severe pain in my lower jaw convinced I would need a root canal. Dr. Kim performed some basic tests and sent me back not convinced that I needed a root canal. He filed my teeth down and suggested I invest in a mouth guard and follow up in two weeks. Very professional office staff and overall great experience (not having a root canal helps!).

Excellent care, excellent service. From the staff to Dr. Kim I was amazed with the treatment and result. The first appointment I was anxious at getting a root canal, for the second visit I wasn’t anxious at all — that’s how comfortable I felt after the first visit.

I highly recommend Dr. Ki Wan Kim. He was extremely honest (I thought I needed a root canal and was pleasantly surprised when he was able to just work on my bite — sent me back to regular dentist to have bite guard made). Office staff was excellent and I was taken back exactly at my appt time! If and when I need a route canal I would definitely go to Dr. Kim.
