Leboeuf & Biasotti

We remodeled our oceanside condo in Leucadia with the expert help of Leboeuf and Biasotti. What a dream home it has been transformed into! With limited space, thanks to the ingenuity and creativity of everyone involved in the project, from top to bottom, we acquired, more space and beautiful designs. Working with Jeanete and her crew made what can sometimes be a very challenging project into a quality remodel. Were there issues that had to be resolved? Absolutely, as in any remodel you often open a can of worms, but Jeanete and company faced the challenge with professional attitudes and talented workmanship. Response to our concerns was always addressed in a timely manner. I recommend Leboeuf and Biasotti to anyone looking for a company that can handle all their concerns with respect and creativity.

My experience with this company was TERRIBLE. They are slow, expensive, disorganized and their job ultimately caused WATER DAMAGE to my home. They seemed very nice, until something goes wrong, then Jeanette, as another reviewer wrote, is condescending and Gene dodges responsibility. They are double the cost for no value. BEWARE their crew consists of essentially a burned out journeyman and a very green apprentice. The rest are subcontractors that are often rude and given little instruction.
I contracted with this company in February to put in a new tub, tile half a small bathroom, install a new oven in place of an old oven, re-​carpet the stairs and replace a carpet in a living room and library with bamboo flooring. I had heard of this company through a friend, who warned me that they had had delays. I asked at the beginning of the contract that their be a financial penalty if they overran their estimating timing. There was roughly 40 hrs of work to be completed. Half way through April when they should have been completing the project according to their own contract, they had not even started. When I mentioned they were going to be responsible for the cost of delay, they started to scramble, they started work out of order, putting the carpet down before completing the upstairs work, so they were dragging construction debris and traipsing up and down on the new carpet on stairs to do the bathroom work. Despite being incredibly behind schedule, they left in the middle of the job to set up at the county fair to get more work, abandoning my job for a week. They did not finish the original work until after June, demanding to do some work on the one day I asked them not to come, my sister’s 30^th Birthday party. After the original work was complete, I had to call them back repeatedly, including in November when water was leaking through my kitchen ceiling because they had improperly installed the overflow valve and water had been leaking into my second story since June. They refused to honor delay penalty of a whole $ 10 a day despite taking almost six months to do no more than two weeks work.
They mismeasured the flooring twice. having to come in and lay flooring three times. I had to call them back after June to repair the poorly installed rubber trim and I am finally compelled to write this review because the wood trim they installed has come off less than six months after the job was complete, and I refuse to call them back to fix it. AGAIN.
When they lost pieces of the tub because them kept an disorganized work space, Jeanete had the audacity to wildly speculate that my children had stolen those and only those items from the work site. Finally backing down when Gene repeatedly took responsibility for losing the pieces.
When it came to final finishing work, I was stood up by Gene a couple of times. The worst situation being when he needed to cut out a piece of wood to install a tile. When he figured out he didn’t have the tools, time or inclination to do the job, he just told me to do it and left. I had to go back to Jeanette and ask her to have him try again, which he finally did. On another occasion, he was sent to repaint the ceiling after it had to be ripped out from the water leak their failure to properly install the overflow valve caused, he showed up with out paint and was mad at me for not having it. He requested to paint a patch in my kitchen with whatever color he had in his truck instead. When I insisted he color match the paint, he stormed off and I got a text from Jeanette telling me he would be back another day. That was in December for a job a contracted in February.
This headache and small upgrades to my home cost me more than 45K. I had them bid another porch job, they came in in excess of 25K, when the licensed contractor I ultimately worked with did the whole job quickly and beautifully for less than 15K. They are way more expensive then other contractors.
I actually have more complaints, (like the subcontractor that showed up with no instruction to reinstall the cabinet door before they had installed the oven. He left disgusted and Jeanette charged me for his visit) but I honestly don’t want to waste any more time on this company, I will just reinstall the trim myself instead of call them back. BUYER BEWARE!

UPDATE: The response from this company is a joke & just shows the way they handle business. She claims we went to court? Can I please see the court documents? Probably not because that is a bold faced lie.

She claims to be a „contractor“ however has no idea what she is talking about. She doesn’t listen to anything you say & speaks down to you as if you are beneath her. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone ever.»

Gene’s custom kitchen done in our Little Italy condo was pivotol in the ease of renting the unit, and now selling it. The quality of the work still looks fantastic. When we first met Gene & Ted LeBoeuf at the San Diego Home Show, they took the time to meet with us and discuss our project, they didn’t treat us like «small potatoes» as many of the renovation companies did that day who only wanted clients with million dollar homes and budgets in La Jolla. LeBoeuf & Biasotti are great contractors, easy to work with and kept us informed of issues as they emerged. Consistent with his own slogan, «there are no problems, only solutions,» Gene demonstrated integrity and determination to accomplish the task and guarantee customer satisfaction. We recommend them highly!

Gene and Jeanette are extremely professional and do outstanding work. Their workmanship is topnotch and they are the nicest people in the world to work with. You would not be disappointed from the first meeting until the end of the job. They only use quality products, quality labor and stand behind everything they do.

We had them re-​model our master bathroom. It exceeded our expectations. They were professional, timely and very reasonable for the workmanship they provided. The new tile looks amazing !! We look forward to having them do our kitchen in the coming year. Great company to work with.

Warning! Worst service right from the start. Extremely poor follow-​up. I really don’t know how they stay in business. I had taken the time to talk with their reps at both the Carlsbad and Del Mar fairs.
A gal came out and measured for a bathroom redo and possible kitchen update. Didn’t bring any samples. Didn’t seem to even want to price cabinet refacing, though that’s what I said I wanted. She wanted me to have cabinets re-​stained
At the end of the appointment, she said she’d email by the end of the day with a quote and some pictures of some products she’d recommend.
Well… 10 days later, not a word. I emailed, she called and left a message, and several excuses. I then responded via email, suggesting she simply do what she had said she would, and email the proposal. NOTHING.
It makes me mad, because I really was ready to go with this project, AND I like to support small local businesses. Next year I’m planning some updates for a rental house I own. Luckily for me, I found another, much more professional, company that was happy to help me.
