After calling several times I have been told twice a refund request was filled out and my refund would be mailed to me and here it is a month later and probably 10 calls later and nothing. I was charged for the month of January but my account is on a medical hold. Maybe a review will get something done? I doubt it. I would go in but I can’t drive because my leg is broken. I have never received a call back and get transferred to «Mikes» voicemail every time I call. Very frustrated and very close to canceling the membership all together

I love the Y! I’ve been going 2 – 3 times a week for about a year and half and can’t see myself canceling the membership at any point in the future.
The YMCA’s biggest asset by far is it’s child care program. I feel totally comfortable leaving my kids there and am consistently impressed by the worker’s care and effort. There was one worker about a year ago that was super rude and unfriendly to the kids and to myself, but she is long gone, which gives me confidence that they have a good system for weeding out underperforming child care workers. With two littles, the opportunity to work out and take an uninterrupted shower, all the while knowing your kids are well taken care of and mostly having fun, is HUGE. HUGE. Also, BONUS, they don’t charge extra for more kids, so now that I have two more on the way, I can delight in the fact that I’m getting a GREAT deal. Child care for 4 kids??? Name one place other than church you can get it cheaper.
That said, I struggle with figuring out why anyone who does not have children gets a YMCA membership. Sure, there are plenty of classes and the staff is friendly, but the facility itself leaves much to be improved, in my opinion. The machines are nice and up to date, but my husband complains that there is not enough weight equipment (only one squat rack) and the locker rooms are pretty basic. They are kept clean, but very no frills. They could use a face lift, specifically creating a separate counter for getting ready, with more blow dryers and electrical outlets. It always seems like a little bit of a hazard to me that women are blow drying their hair right next to running sinks and splashed water on the countertops. Also, it’s gross that you have to do your hair/​makeup in the same room where someone just took a poop. If it were my locker room, I’d take out the first row of lockers, put in a counter top, and have women get ready there — separate from the sinks and toilets. The showers could also use some improvement — starting with wider shower curtains so you’re less exposed. If you aren’t using the child care, you can get cheaper single memberships at gyms with much nicer facilities.
I’ve loved all the classes I’ve taken, but would like more — not more classes, but greater frequency. Sometimes they can get quite crowded so it seems like it would make sense to add more and spread out the crowd. Lastly, it would be great if child care opened earlier in the morning — more like 7am.
But all that said, for my stage in life, the YMCA is an AMAZING resource. I love it and recommend it to all the moms I know!

This Y has a nice family atmosphere like you would expect. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It has all the equipment I want as well.
Here is why I give 3 stars. They do not service the machines regularly. Over the last 4 months since we joined, the out of order signs just keep going up but don’t come down. The treadmills for example, there are 5 or so broken out of about 16.
The next reason for 3 stars is the shower facilities. They suck. Hardly anyone uses them. The soap dispensers are the low flow sink type, it’s impossible to get enough. There is a sign up saying to limit yourself to 2 minutes. Its hot and humid and doesn’t seem well ventilated. I always stink the rest of the day after using these showers.

I enjoy the cycling classes @ the YMCA. I am annoyed @ their contests for example there was a contest in February which clearly indicated who ever had the most likes on Facebook would win a personal training session. So I had the most likes you had use #YFamily…well the winner was never announced. I even left a comment card @ the front desk and have not heard a word. What is the purpose of having these type of contests? I also sent an email… guess what NOTHING.
The shade in the pool area is better, which is a plus.

Been very please so far with everything at the Y. The childcare service is great! You are allowed 2 hours of child watch per day. The rates are priced fair and allow for some great perks. If you are a usaa member you will get a $ 100 gift card. As far as the facility goes, the staff are always friendly and professional, the workout room has more than enough weights and equipment for everyone. Aside from the child watch if you have kids, they have excellent child fitness programs. Last but not least, the pool is great. It’s heated and usually always has an open lane to swim laps. All in all I highly recommend this place for a gym membership.

Signed up a few years ago to take advantage of the yoga classes they offer almost everyday. My monthly fee is $ 47 and I go to 3 or 4 classes a week that’s about $ 3 per class! You can’t beat that. The personal trainers are always happy to answer questions and offer helpful advice. I really like the low key family feel and the ability to try out new classes.

Absolutely love being apart of the Y. My kids LOVE child watch which makes going here even better. I can workout or relax by the pool knowing my kids are safe and happy. The staff is always welcoming and makes me feel like I belong here. Ive been a member at this location for 2 years. I took a short break and tried out another gym and realized quickly that was a mistake. The group fitness class schedule could be a bit better (offering more classes in the later morning and early evening hours) but overall the facility has everything I need. The weight room is very adequately supplied with equipment for all fitness types. And the pool is perfect. There is a lap pool as well as a kids pool. Overall a great gym to be a member at.

We love the Mottino YMCA. I workout here about 4 – 5 times per week and have been a member for about 2 years. The exercise equipment is always clean and I never have to wait for a treadmill, elliptical, or a bike. The trainers are so kind, greeting you with a «hello!» when you walk in the door. The child watch is wonderful. The staff is always friendly and professional and they are great with my 2.5 year old and 3 month old. I am constantly recommending this YMCA to friends in the area because it has been so helpful for me to be able to workout stress free, thanks to the amazing staff.

This Y is great for me and my son. I like the group exercise classes and the free family personal training and my son loves the child watch program. The staff are really friendly too!

We love our Y! The staff is really helpful and everyone is so nice! I love that we can workout as a family through classes and in the gym, even if the kids are under 10. Our trainer Jim went above and beyond in our orientation and made sure my son knew exactly how to use each weight machine. The family classes are really fun and great for every level. But I think what makes me happiest here are all the families I see working out together and having fun. Such a joy to see!

The members and staff are great. Child watch is the best, my only issue with this place is that it needs some TLC. The weight room needs better shading and some updated equipment.

This review is strictly for the pool area. While I did see the entire facility and it looks clean, I can’t comment on anything but the facility and the employees I interacted with.
My friend invited us to join her and use one of her guest passes to play in the pool there.
Upon arrival, I had to fill out paperwork (which was pretty redundant and the employee apologized for that), show ID, and off we went.
There are 2 pools here. One pool seems to be primarily for lessons, some family play, and lapswim. The other pool is divided in half. One half is for their gigantic slide and the other half is a one foot water play area with a water features and a sprinkler. I spent most of my time here.
Pros:
Lifeguard are there
They blow the whistle every 45 minutes or so for about 5 minutes. They call this a bathroom break for everyone in the pool.
They have rings and some swim toys
Chairs
Clean locker rooms
Cons:
There’s no shade (maybe it was just the time I went and the position of the sun, but there’s no shade
The whistle blowing can get annoying
If you are in one of the other pools when it’s lesson time, they’ll tell you to leave that area.
All in all, this was s fun way to spend a few hours. It’s far from my house so I wouldn’t join but I would recommend to others. 3.5 star review but I’m rounding up because I’m feeling generous. :)

I really like this ymca! It is clean, the staff is friendly, and my two young kids really enjoy the child watch. My son does crafts and my daughter, who cried every time I leave her anywhere, doesn’t cry when I drop her off (hooray for uninterrupted workouts!). My only complaint, and why I am not giving it 5 stars, is because the child watch uses the intercom to call a parent when a child needs to be tended to which means using headphones is out of the question and group classes are hard to take because it is difficult to hear anything with the music on. Otherwise, this ymca is great!

Love this place. Great for working out and their youth activities are very organized and great. The morning classes full up fast so get here early! Kids love the child care. My house is filled with great crafts my 3 yer old has done! Can’t wait to spend the summer sitting poolside!!!

Very clean and nice facility

Been a member going on three years now. Since I live nearby, the convenience of the location is a plus. My wife and I have a family membership. No kids, so I can’t comment on the children’s activities. However, they seem to be pretty popular and I often see kids leaving with something they’ve made, so I know the staff is engaged.
Is this the cheapest place to join? Nope. Is this the most well-​equipped place? No again. Has the class schedule been reduced from when I joined. Yes, it has. Are the facilities the most pristine you’ll find? Nope.
Why then do I keep renewing my membership? Well, despite what others have said here, this Y DOES give back to the community. I see the summer kid’s programs, and I know that a lot of those kids would never have an opportunity like this at other gyms. I have gotten to know a number of the staff members, and they are uniformly concerned about member’s well-​being. The addition of Saranette as the new fitness director has already shown dividends, and I think those improvements will continue. I take three yoga classes a week, use the fitness center at least four times a week, and have participated in some of the fundraising efforts to assist the camp program. I find that most people who use the facilities are a bit more interested in actually working out than socializing, but even so, I’ve made a couple of new friends just because you get to know the regulars and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that I don’t make my purchase simply on the basis of cost, cause there sure are those $ 9 a month places that churn people in and out if that’s what you’re looking for. I tend to view the Y as a resource that this community really needs. Could they be doing a better job at some things? Absolutely. Corporate people there seem completely aloof and not at all member-​oriented. The front line staff, however, really gets kudos from me. The instructors are GREAT (I’m looking at you, Alexis, Tammy, Tina, Jackie, Saranette, Cesario), and it’s clear to me that they’re trying to up their game. If you’re looking for a place that’s just more than a gym, but a place where you CAN become involved in improving our community, the Mottino Y is a good place to start. I’m a fan.

Stop ! Don’t waist your money ! This place is way over priced ! My biggest gripe with this place is the horrible customer service. Most of YMCA pools charge a flare rate between $ 5-​$ 7. This place will gouge you for $ 16 a pop for a master swim class or even a spin or yoga class. There is no rhyme or reason other than they want you to join their over priced gym. They are NOT family oriented or interested in helping the community. They are missing the boat on the mission of the YMCA ! Oh yea, management is rude! Nothing personal! Boo hiss !

Great place for the whole family! Daycare is great classes are fun fitness center is never packed the military rate is decent pool is clean and the restroom locker area has plenty of room!

Í live nearby and have tried this Y with memberships several times over the years. It always disappoints.
I mainly have had the membership so my kids could swim. I wish it had an indoor pool (those are sorely lacking in N County) — Ecke is too far and packed.
My biggest pet peeve is how they are constantly changing everyone from one pool to another to accomodate their swim classes. And even when folks do have access to the big pool, it’s just a small section for so many folks. Add those getting in and out of the pool times with the «potty breaks» where they get all the kids out of the pool for 5 – 10 mins — every 20 – 30 mins, and you spend more time outta of the pool freezing.
Not to mention there are not enough places to sit or put your things out there. And there is very little shade — VERY little.
As for classes, you might get the same class twice a week. MIGHT. So if you’re planning on a fitness régime based say on zumba, don’t count on doing it 2−3x a week.
And yes, the machine/​weight room is tiny and cramped.
