Welcome to Black Rider Studios. We are a family owned photography business that is based in San Diego County and have been in operation since 2004. We have covered so many events from birthdays, weddings, concerts. We do portraits to photojournalism. There is not a country in this world we wont go to do a shoot.
We love to cooperate with our customers. Although we do direct most of the shots in our sessions, we love to hear your ideas. Why? because this is your memory. We want to capture what you have in your mind. The way you see your family, friends, & events. We love to do photojournalism, we love to capture that moment in time that defines the moment, the essence of the event. We want to capture that moment so when you see your photo, you can remember and feel that moment.

Business Owner
My name is Tony Ruiz AKA ‘The Black Rider’ and my wife Maria Ruiz. I been a photographer since 2004 and I love to shoot. I started out as just shooting randomly and doing self portraits for flickr but slowly started to go behind the lens and staying there. I had a lot encouragement from my friends and fellow photographers. I started to become interested in fashion photography and artistic portraits. There was never a magazine i passed up that I didnt picked up to see there photos from GQ, and ELLE to Rolling Stone and Under The Radar. Flickr was a great learning tool for me and I loved to see my fellow photographers work and I wasn’t afraid to ask questions. What started motivating me was doing photography inspired by music. I would love to hear the songs and try to make a viewer feel that song with my photography. Til this day, I still do that.
