Pismo Sands RV Resort

Stayed here a couple days with family and all I can say is «Holy Mismanagement».
This «Park» boasts top awards but couldn’t even process a check-​in without being rude, offensive, and argumentative. Every problem I had seen while staying at Pismo Sands was management related however, dare to address the manager about «issues» in her World Class Park, and you will be met with Scorn, Ridicule, and Threats, if your not thrown out of the park. This place is a crowded parking lot in the worst part of town, and is run by a rude b*tch that has zero customer service skills whatsoever. As you will read in many of the PS reviews and as stated at the top of their «Policies & Regulations» page, THE MANAGER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE PRICING & POLICIES AT WILL. The only reason any business would need this type of disclaimer is to take advantage of honest people, looking for a quality accommodations, and then treat them like crap once they have nowhere else to go.
Next time I will stay at a real RV Resort, in Pismo Beach. Pound Sand Pismo Sands…

Like the facilities, the security and most sites have grass area. Cannot put rugs on grass and no bicycle riding allowed although I see bikes everywhere. The thing that is most disappointing is the internet service. You would think that such a nice place would give you high speed internet for the price they charge. The service is fine when it is up, but goes down completely at many times. They also block any streaming service like Netflix. We booked at the last minute and they said they only had one spot, 113. A small spot on the outer edge. We asked for other spots but when we got to the desk they said they were not available, yet these same spots were open for the 2 days we stayed there. They like to keep the bigger spots open for bigger rigs, even though everyone pays the same price. This same thing happened when we stayed last summer. I wish they would get it together.

I called a couple of days ahead, and was repeatedly assured, that we would not get a side-​by-​side. Upon arrival, my wife was told that nothing else was available. After she reminded them of their verbal commitment, we were given a second choice, but one that the office likely knew we would not find acceptable. Not only was it too short for our 37′ Class A, there was no parking anywhere near for our toad. After setting up, we did a quick recon thru the park and identified 3 open sites that fit our specific requests. I presumed the park, largely vacant on our early Friday afternoon arrival, would fill overnight. It did not. The next morning, all 3 sites, and now another, were vacant. By our departure Monday, it seemed highly probable that we had not been honestly dealt with. Multiple sites of the nature I requested sat vacant our entire stay. Since their website clearly states they cannot guarantee specific sites, I find it unlikely that these sites were reserved, but ‘no shows’. Especially in light of the following. First, note my previous review of the park. Second. Turns out we had a great neighbor less than 2′ from us. They, too, had had been promised, by email, one of two end sites. (One of these was as I requested. It sat vacant the entire weekend we were there.) Upon the neighbor’s arrival, they were told that specific sites were not reservable, and that they could not have either site promised. Both were empty. Producing the written confirmation, the wife, absolutely insisted. ‘After all, if we can’t reserve a site, though you tell us in writing here we have, how can you deny us the site by telling us it is reserved for someone else?’ They got the site. After said experience, their intent is to use Pismo Coast Village next time. As for my wife and I. .. I could live with the side by side hook-​ups when the park was at capacity & no other sites were available. This was far from the case. With a daughter that recently took a teaching job in the area, our intent is to visit a couple of times a year with stays of about two weeks at a time. We are in the area this trip for 17 days. Had I been assigned a site of the nature I was assured we would get, I would have extended for the remainder. Instead, I simple moved down the road. I will simple not do business with a facility that operates I such a manipulative manner.

Ok… back to 5 stars and our favorite place to stay. Our spot is perfect, and love the ladies in the office. Always friendly…
This was our 3^rd anniversary trip. It couldn’t have been any better! Weather was in the low 80’s and the ocean spectacular. Pismo Sands gets credit for that special order as well.

Upon arrival we received a spot that was too small for both trailer & truck; we asked to be moved to a spot that we could park the truck nearby. We were told by the lady at the front desk she couldn’t move us that we’d need to speak to the manager the next day. The next day my husband went to the front office and the manager would not speak to him; however, the lady at the front desk gave him a month long parking permit to park in the empty space next to us — with the stipulation if the RV park filled up we would have to move but they would notify us first.
My brother came up to visit for the day, we left his car parked in our spot while we went out for the day. Upon our arrival, around 6:30pm, we found my brother’s car had been towed. They said they called us but neither me or my husband received a call or had any missed calls or messages from anyone. This morning everyone was very unsympathetic and very unreasonable.
WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN NOR WILL WE RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!
NOW I AM REALLY PISSED! The people that stayed next to us (the reason my brother was towed) stayed one night. They just left, 10:28am. There were plenty of empty stops when we arrived last night and several empty stops this morning; there was no reason whatsoever to have my brother’s car towed!!!

This was our first time at Pismo Sands RV Resort. We usually stay at another park in Pismo Beach. We stayed in the park for six nights. The site that we were placed in was between two long term residents. This would have been O.K., except for the fact that the site we were placed in was a «buddy site» and the people next to us weren’t our buddy. The only person half way friendly was one of their children. The next thing that bothered me was the trash area. This park doesn’t have dumpsters, but uses trash cans placed in an enclosure. Evidently when the cans are full people just dump their trash next to the cans. The trash that missed the cans hasn’t been picked up in weeks. That was slightly gross. The site we were placed in was literally the farthest one away from any wifi transmitter. Needless to say my internet connection was mostly unreliable. The park has two pet areas which were basically a sand box surrounded by railroad ties stacked two high. As for actually putting your dog inside to do his business it was not set up for any off lead action. The pet area should be enlarged and fenced in so the dogs can run around and do their business. In fact there is a large un-​utilized area at the back of the park that if fenced in would make a fantastic dog area.
The one aspect of the RV park we did enjoy was the swimming pool and hot tub. The times we used them they were clean and well maintained.

This park is the most hilarious place I have ever stayed. Seriously, I super wish they made a reality tv show based outta this place. We stayed two nights. First night: the «over 100k» airstream parked next to us was rockin… soooo we didn’t attempt any knockin, if ya know what I mean. I’m not even kidding. At about midnight, a ginormous 5^th wheel, the

Very nice RV park! Staff is always very helpful and friendly! During the busy summer the park gets full quick. Suggest to have the number on speed dial to call often for cancellations. Looking forward to next trip. They have a lot of buddy sites where you share the grassy areas with your neighbor. Let’s face it RV’ers enjoy life and experiences so if you don’t know your neighbor — take the time to get to know them and have fun!

Pismo sands was a middle range RV resort. This is our third time coming and the amenities are very good. For example the pool and spa area are really clean. The restrooms and showers are also very clean. The park it self is also very clean and safe.
The disappointments came in the form of customer service. The heavyset white maintenance man was rude to my wife. The basketball hoop is broken. Also if you stay to a campsite next to the road it is very loud.
Overall I will stay again but if that man is rude again I will have to report him to management.
