A dream in every bite. We did a quick touraround Ocean Springs and was so hungry for some southern food. Pulled up Unilocal and great reviews for a place around the corner was BB’s. Got the gumbo and shrimp Po-Boy and was amazed! The shrimp had a light beer batter breading and the sauce was amazing. Got some remoulade sauce on the side and dipped in that. It was ridiculously delicious. Place was super clean, small dining room and owners there overseeing everything. I wished I lived in the south for all the great food!

This place is great! One of my favorite places to eat. The food and service are always great! I’d recommend the Shopper po boy. If you like shrimp then you can’t go wrong with this sandwich. This is a locally owned business that’s been open for over 25 years. It is easy to see why. The owners are genuine people, who remember their customers.

I’ve travelled a lot, and been to many different types of food joints, but this place is by far the worst I have ever been to. I was tempted to leave without paying the over $ 13 bill for the sandwich made with fast food quality cheese and chili. I would bet money on the fact that they use the cheapest cheese they can find in the store, the cheapest canned chili, and they probably don’t even dice their own onions. I’m shocked this place is still in business.

The Bo boy sandwiches here are excellent. I had the crayfish and my wife had the shrimp. They are large and very fresh. And the soups are outstanding. They are only open 11 to 3 so plan ahead

We stopped in here over the weekend after reading all of the fabulous reviews on Unilocal. The very first thing that caught my attention was the Mississippi wall of fame, where you can find photos and cities of every famous Mississippian, including the legendary BB King. There was also a guitar on the wall covered in Mississippi license plates, which was a tribute to Lucille. If you don’t know«who» Lucille is, you probably don’t belong in Mississippi… Arkansas and Tennessee probably wouldn’t be the best places for you either. Anyway, I was totally enamored by the guitar. The other side of the room boasted a Saints wall. Other than that, this isn’t a fancy place. It’s just bright and clean. Now for the food. We started with their soups of the day. My husband had the crab and corn bisque and I had the creole tomato and shrimp bisque. Usually I want to trade him, but not this time. They were both flavorful, but the creole tomato and shrimp bisque was all that! I ordered the the roast beef and gravy poboy and he ordered a seafood combination poboy with crabmeat dressing. My sandwich was good, and the hubs said his was one of the best he’s ever had. The crabmeat dressing made it for him. For dessert we split a slice of key lime pie. It seemed to be from a box but it was good, firm and not too tart. The service was very good. We’ll probably stop by there again when we’re in the area.

Ok. this is the real deal on the Mississippi gulf coast. The place is old school as far as décor and service is concerned, which is fantastic! Nice people and great service even when it is packed. It is worth waiting if you get there and a table is not available. The shrimp salad is the best that you will get on the coast, and is as good or better than I have had had anywhere. The po-boys are served on a Mississippi style bun(softer than the New Orleans style) which has just a hint if sweet. It is loaded with shrimp. and not the tiny salad shrimp that a lot of places use, but nicely breaded large or «jumbo» shrimp. Sauce is on the side a just a bit spicy, so go light until you have tried it. Also try the Tomato Shrimp bisque. I really need that recipe. it is terrific! Bottom line. If you want real Mississippi Gulf Coast cooking in a great atmosphere… this is your place. It is worth the trip!

This place was everything I look for in a good restaurant. Staff was EXTREMELY friendly and provided great service. I like to go places that can take everyday food and make it their own with a little flare. This place does just that. You can tell they take pride in the food they serve. I had the who dat and it was delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try some other things!

Tried the fried shrimp po boy with bacon and it was pretty good. The place had a lot of locals on a Tuesday lunchtime who knew the staff, so that further reinforced that they served good food there. Good service, good food — can’t ask for much more.

The food and service is always top notch. They have the best poboys on the coast. Try the shopper poboy(shrimp, provolone, and BACON). The bread is tasty and the shrimp are always so fresh. They have been open for 25 years, so they are doing it right. Always consistent. You won’t be disappointed.

Best shrimp PO-boys anywhere! We originally started coming here 24 years ago and loved it. We moved away and just returned for the first time in the last 11 years and it’s only gotten better with age. The shrimp PO-boys are excellent, as is the crab & corn bisque. The place is clean and the staff pleasant. It’s a great local place to eat fresh seafood from the Gulf Coast.

Quaint little dining room with very hospitable wait staff. Had the fried crawfish tails Po Boy and it was awesome. My husband got the shrimp Po Boy with bacon and provolone and he said it was great!

I love everything about BB’s — the food, the atmosphere, the people, and the food(did I mention the food??). This place has been a staple in Ocean Springs for years, and continues to have the same great quality and taste as always. Despite being a small restaurant, it is open and well-lit, and only feels crowded when there’s a line of people waiting to eat. It’s worth that wait. Today I got the surf and turf(roast beef and fried shrimp) Poboy for the first time. I’ve always loved the plain roast beef and the shopper(fried shrimp with bacon and provolone) is my go-to choice. The combination was fantastic. I don’t ever think to put gravy on fried shrimp, but I will from now on. I definitely saved some shrimp to eat with their remoulade sauce. Unlike a previous reviewer, I personally think the batter falling off a shrimp is a good thing — however it varies by batch which just tells you they do it all in-house. The shrimp are plump and juicy, unlike a lot of other places that give you tiny crispy nothings. I also love the«Who Dat»(chili, mustard, and onions) as well as any of the other fried seafood options. The burger is also great(it’s a Poboy). I am obsessed with the crawfish bisque and order it every time it is available. Their other soups and gumbo are great as well. The wait can sometimes be long, but I take this as a way to sit and actually enjoy a meal and time with family and friends instead of rushing through and on to the next thing. Plus it reflects on the time put into each dish to make sure it is perfect. The owners are some of the nicest folks I have ever met, and are willing to give recommendations and address any issues someone might have. It’s also great to peruse the many pictures of athletes(mostly Saints players — Mr. BB’s favorite team) and Gulf seafood. Take the time to give this place a try and you won’t be disappointed. It truly is my definition of a «local restaurant» for Ocean Springs and the Gulf Coast.

This place was awesome. I was in Ocean Springs for 3 days and ate here twice. The food was really good. The roast beef was some of the best I’ve had. The sandwiches were hot, juicy and real tasty. The price was a little high, but it was worth it. My wife was very very satisfied with her shrimp po boy on day one and her fried oyster po boy on day two. My sandwiches were equally as good and left me wanting more(not hungry, just wanting to taste more of BB’s awesomeness).

Really lovely find on our road trip back from NC to TX. We had poboys, gumbo, catfish and bread pudding and everyone was happy! The décor is nice, owner and staff super friendly and sweet. The pine ceilings are gorgeous. My 11 yr old remarked it’s not very big but it doesn’t have to be big to be good! The homemade sauces are delicious! It was well worth the 3 miles off I-10!

This place is excellent! Looked up on Unilocal on our way from texas to florida. Nice small and clean restaurant with a very homelike feel to it. The food is excellent. Ordered a crabmeat poboy and the bread was fresh and crisp on the outside. The crab and corn bisque tasted like a nice balance between the corn and crab. The breaded and fried shrimp was phenomenal! So sweet and succulent. At pieces of shrimp and big plates. You can totally split a meal. Really great place!

The cost is not worth it. I was charged $ 14 for a shrimp sandwich on a regular hamburger bun and a small box of fries. Why is a sandwich on a bun more or the same price as a regular poboy?! Maybe they should have disclosed the price when I requested this. I don’t know any other sandwich joint that does this. It wasn’t even cooked well. The coating was falling off the shrimp, the shrimp had NO seasoning, was mushy, and the fries tasted greasy like they were fried on old oil. No, they were fried in old oil. They were limp and over salted. My coworker had a poboy that was on a small brioche bun for $ 10. Overpriced. Overrated. Over-hyped.

Had lunch with friends who recommend we eat here. Had cup of crabmeat and corn bisque which was perfectly seasoned and some of the best ever. Then I had oyster poboy with bacon and provolone cheese. The bacon really added to the sandwich the homemade romalode sauce was great on sweet potato fries. The service was timely and friendly. Great experience !!!

It’s very easy to drive by this place without noticing it — from the outside there’s nothing particularly striking about the place. The inside is unexpectedly small for a restaurant, but in a cozy this-is-an-authentic-mom-and-pop-type-place kind of way. The place certainly has its charm. The servers are very nice — almost too friendly in a way.(I don’t recall the last time I had ever had my back slapped in a joking manner by a server, but it happened a few times here.) The menu has a good variety of things from soups and salads, side items, and of course, po boys. I thought the prices were a bit on the higher side, especially since everything comes a la carte and you have to order sides in addition to your po boy. But despite this, I do think this place has the best po boys in BIloxi, if not Mississippi. So for that I give it lots of credit. Definitely worth checking out if you want to sample the local flavor.
