Off season visit. Obviously they have an attitude about children. No kid’s menu. No crayons,(at least none that were offered.) No smiles, except from other waitresses. Our waitress was shooting glares at our baby. She seats us away from everybody.(Note: Baby never made a sound the whole time we were there.) Waitress(name omitted so she won’t get fired) in a hurry and rude. When asked for another plate to put the gobs of margarine on our pancakes, she whisked a mug from another table, slammed it down and said something like«here ya go.» Food was sub-par and way over priced. $ 37.00 for 2 adults and a 5 year old. We did not leave a tip. Management: Teach your wait staff to have some manners, and at the very least smile.

After finding Uncle Bill’s on Mapquest Maps, and checking with my GF, who lives in the area, we decided to stop in for a late morning bite. It’s a clean, VERY brightly lit space, with a cross between Homey and Cafeteria feel. Nothing special, nothing offensive about the décor and ambiance. That said, we were there for neither décor nor ambiance. We were there for pancakes, and in that regard, Uncle Bill was spot on. We had a stack of Blueberry Buttermilks that were sublime. Not too thick and doughy, nor too thin and wimpy– just right, with big, juicy, tasty blueberries distributed throughout. I travel with my own real maple syrup, since most joints are either too cheap or too short-sighted to provide anything other than the goopy, gross, institutional high-fructose pancake syrup. I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that Uncle Bill’s offers the REAL stuff for a higher-than-average-but-still-reasonable $ 2.75 per portion. Nicely done, Uncle Bill! Side notes– eggs over easy were average at best, bacon was tasty but very thinly sliced(I prefer thick cut), and the home fries were seriously wanting of some seasoning, and more time on the griddle. If not for the fantastic pancakes, we would not return any time soon, as there are a million places to get run-of-the-mill bacon and eggs with home fries. The pancakes here are King though, and for good reason. They are superb, and well worth the trip.

5 stars: Pumpkin pancakes: ooeygooey and topped with cinnamon butter and whipped cream! A Seasonal delight for $ 8.75! Amazing! 5 stars: The service was great! Our waitress was friendly and helpful! 3 stars: The eggs were dry and didn’t taste especially fresh; the hash browns were similarly average. 2 stars: The Iowa corn pancakes however were dry and disappointing! I really found uncle bills hit or miss! Will be back for the pumpkin pancakes!

Outstanding pancakes and a fantastic server yesterday. Daughter got the chocolate chip pancakes and a scrambled egg, husband gotvthe two eggs, sausage patty(yum) and buttermilk pancake platter, snd I got the blueberry pancakes(ridiculously yummy), no eggs, and a side of sausage links. One apple juice, one coffee and ice tea was $ 55 including tip, so pretty pricey for a pancake place! That’s the only reason for the 4 instead of 5 star review– it was definitely more expensive than we would have thought. A plate of pancakes and nothing else started out about $ 7. We would have loved half the portion for half the price I think, only bc we left sooooo much food on our plates! It would be great to have a little kids menu too bc my 9 y/o only ate one of her three giant chic chip pancakes and felt bad leaving them haha. A really sweet spot though– you should go(and maybe just share!!)

This place is great for breakfast! We had Megan as our waitress and she was so friendly and full of local Jersey knowledge! Definitely get the buckwheat pancakes, and make sure to try the pork roll. It’s a classic breakfast joint and one to not miss on a visit to Ocean City. Scrapple is another local favorite on the menu.

Uncle Bill’s is a must go to when we are in Ocean City!!! There’s not one bad thing on the menu, everything is delicious. The only downside is that since it’s such a great breakfast place(and this is NO secret!) there’s usually a wait and the restaurant is a bit crowded and loud. Regardless– they make up for it with the food quality!!! A must go to!!!(They have several locations)

A must go when we are in OC. The kids love the pancakes and I always leave stuffed by an order of pancakes, eggs and bacon. I am a bit of a coffee snob at times and I don’t like it here. Usually busy so be careful of a wait best to go early and then go home for a food coma.

Came here for breakfast! They were very busy but we didn’t wait long. The server was very friendly and fast. My friend got the peanut butter and chocolate pancakes. He said he couldn’t really taste the peanut butter. I had the pecan pancakes with an egg and some bacon. It was good but they put a lot of butter on the pancakes. I would’ve given them 5 stars if it weren’t for the butter and the price of everything. They are a little pricy for a diner. But I would come again.

For a restaurant that is built on pancakes, we left content but not wanting to return for more. We ordered a regular stack and the stuffed french toast with a variety of your typical breakfast meats(bacon, eggs, sausage). The food was good, not amazing. You can get a filling meal for less than $ 10, but most breakfast combos will run you a little over $ 10. The service was commendable. I assume the servers were local high school /college students as they were all young and friendly. Even though it was peak breakfast hours and a few customers were waiting to be seated, we got in and out in less than an hour but didn’t feel rushed.

Very good breakfast. Eggs, sausage links, toast, stuffed french toast, and pancakes. Each one was very good. Good fast service. A little crowded and of course Loud but the good places are all like that down here. Definitely a little more pricey compared to other places. Update: Have been here 3 or 4 more times since my initial review. Also went to the 40th street location. This summer I have done the breakfast spot tour. There are a lot of good options. However, Uncle Bill’s is consistently clean, consistent in the fast and friendly service and the food quality. Yes you may have to wait, but it usually turns over quick. Also, for all the people that complain about cash only places, Uncle Bill’s takes credit cards. I raised my rating from a 4 to a 5.

We came to ocean city for the weekend and Unilocaled breakfast places. This spot had good reviews so we gave it a try. Plus, we are pancake enthusiasts! we got here and had a seat right away. The staff was super friendly and bubbly. We were taken care of by chloe who was very nice and she gave us good recommendations on what to eat. We ordered the stuffed french toast and the pumpkin pancakes. Let né say this was one of the most delicious breakfast plates ever ! Heaven on a plate ! Very sweet but couldnt stop eating it. The cinnamon butter was soo amazing. I wish we could bring this place to ny with us.

Don’t get me wrong in that I fall into the large category of people who have been coming to OC their entire life and the area does indeed have a place in my heart but at the same time let’s not allow sentimentality to get in the way of what Uncle Bill’s actually is. What is Uncle Bill’s you say? It’s really, really overpriced that’s what it is. Breakfast for two adults and two younger children should not come to nearly fifty dollars when you’re only ordering pancakes and French Toast. I mean I get it that because you’re «down the shore» you have to on some level expect to get hosed but seriously, damn, I can get the same stuff from a little greasy spoon diner two blocks from my house for half the price. Good: * The service was indeed very friendly and very fast. We got there around 8:30 on Mothers Day and the place was maybe 2⁄3 filled but by the time we left there was a line 15 – 20 deep waiting outside with the podium taking names. * The food quality is good and the menu is large but at the end of the day it’s boils down to a menu mostly comprised of eggs, bread and pancakes which is why the high prices are partially confounding. Bad: * The lack of a kids menu is just a plain stupid. I’ve been to other pancake house places in OCMD and in Williamsburg and all of them had a lower priced/more correctly portioned kids menu. At Uncle Bill’s when I asked about a kids menu I got a look from our server that clearly she thought I was nuts but she offered to do a short stack for a lesser price. That of course equaled out to being two pancakes for $ 8.50 versus three for $ 9.75. Wow! What a deal. So instead of getting ripped at $ 3.25 per pancake now it’s $ 4.25 per pancake. WTF! Dining«down the shore» is tough in season let alone off season because overall most places are complete crap and the ones that are decent are few and far between yet at the very least if there is one common theme that runs through most of them it’s being grossly overpriced by a good 25−35% past what they’re really worth. I mean clearly me saying any of this isn’t going to change a thing because for most sheeple sentimentality trumps common sense and I don’t expect me pointing out the total lack of value here to change one mind or discourage one shoobie from visiting but none the less it’s what Uncle Bill’s is.

I can’t eat pancakes anywhere else other then here!(or if I make them) They legit make the best pancakes ever. My favorite are the peanut butter and chocolate chip pancakes. I’ve always said that the perfect pancakes do not need syrup or butter… and that is true at Uncle Bill’s. Top them off with some chocolate milk. Their home fries and eggs are always delicious too. Service can be slow– specifically on the weekends in the summer. But who cares? It’s summer and its delicious! Enjoy!

This is my favorite place in the world. I hope to have my bachelor party and/or wedding here. I won’t eat pancakes anywhere else. They’re a disappointment if they’re not from here. The pancakes are the best I’ve ever had. Chocolate chip especially. Great amount of food, fair prices. And the service is fast no matter how busy they are. I’ve never seen an employee without a smile. When I retire, I’m using all my retirement money to evict the person who lives in the shore house next to this place so I can live there. Bacon is good too.

Uncle Bill’s is a must if you’re 1. In OCNJ, 2. If you love breakfast and 3. If you’re hungover(not necessary but works great) Absolutely expect a bit of a wait but honestly, it’s never been too terrible and their timing is also accurate so you’ll know how to plan. Highlights: Their blueberry pancakes. Fluffy, fresh and delicious. Their corn cakes. Think a corn muffin but in pancake form with syrup and butter. Their scrapple. Tip, order it cut in half. It gets really crispy that way. And last, all of their omelets. I’ve tried a few of them and they are always cooked perfectly!

It’s 8am, and you half-stumble, bleary eyed, into Uncle Bill’s as a blast of icy air conditioning hits you. You’ve just arrived in Ocean City after 4 hours of beating the New Jersey traffic to your home for the next week… and you’re starving. Your kids order whatever has the most mentions of «chocolate chips.» You order anything that offers a lot… and keep the coffee coming. You’ve got a few hours to kill because the rental’s not available until 2, so there’s no rush. This is the best moment of the vacation as everyone savors the food and the anticipation. The bill comes, and yeah, it’s a little pricey for diner breakfast food, but you’re paying for the tradition of kicking off what will surely be another unforgettable family trip. So you pay with a smile and head out the door to the week ahead.

Today’s visit to Uncle Bill’s was my 2nd visit during my vacation. Lucky for me my wife is not much for breakfast so we got out of there cheaper than most that dine here. Both visits my wife had an oh so tasty bagel with cream cheese and strawberry jelly. Me on the other hand, well I’m big fan of breakfast and the one huge benefit of coming to Uncle Bill’s is getting stuff that I’m not making at home. My 1st trip — banana and peanut butter stuffed French toast with whipped cream(good) and/or whipped butter(better). NOTGETTINGTHISATHOME. My 2nd trip(today and inspired by a dish I witnessed passing by during my previous trip) — strawberry stuffed pancakes with a side of sausage patties. While I’ve put strawberries on my pancakes at home before, today’s breakfast has inspired me to step up my game at home. My 5-star rating is based solely on the variety of breakfast options. Who knew there were so many pancake options? Besides the stuff they could put on top of or stuff in a pancake, but they can make them out of corn or potato too. In my opinion, the breakfast options and variations out-way the inflated cost that you pay for those options. Simply put, if your gonna spend $ 12 for breakfast, you might want to consider having something you simply can’t make easily for yourself.
