Quality Inn & Suites Beachfront

High light of this hotel: not too far from the boardwalk and the view from the balcony was great.
I am very picky about where I stay, especially because I work at a Hilton back in my home town. I figured I’d give this place a try, and honestly the hotel itself isn’t awful, the staff on the other hand are pretty close. Appliances were dated but it didn’t bother me, if I were going to be cooking in the kitchen it would have been a problem because the stove was busted up. The toilet was missing specs of paint, making it look very dirty and the same went for the jacuzzi tub. The two person tub was wonderful, just a little concerned about the dirt that was in the Jets. Also, the shower had dirt on the part where you stand, before we even got in. Beds were clean.
Now for the staff, I pride myself on having a great personality and really making my guests feel at home back at my hotel at home, which is something the staff here do not do. They are all very plain and dry. Before arrival, I called to make sure we got an oceanfront room with the 2 person jacuzzi tub, and was assured my room had it. At arrival, I found out my room did not. I then went to the front desk and she still charged me an extra $ 10 to move my room even after I informed her this was the first leg of our honeymoon. You would have thought she would have said don’t worry about the extra fee, since it was the incompetent staff who mixed up my reservation. Later, we went down to ask the guy at the desk what restaurants are open since it is off season, and he listed some places. all of which were closed off season. Not helpful at all. Last thing, is I called down the night prior to leaving to get a late checkout due to our flight to the last part of our honeymoon being later in the day and was told to come down in the morning to talk to a woman named Charlene, I made sure to wake up at 7:30 and go to the desk to give them plenty of notice that I would need to leave late and when I went down I was told she did not work today and the guy said to come back down at 9 so the next person can help me. It’s very inconvenient that nobody on the staff seems to know how to give me a late check out, and keeps pushing me onto the next guy.
I’m really not one to complain, but the lack of personality or helpfulness of staff made my trip very difficult in all.

We came here during winter break, spur of the moment, most of the hotels were closed for season and we came across this hotel, worth a try. We only needed a place to sleep.
Was greeted as mam (for looking like a teen but pushing 30 I loved this) we checked in, went up to our room. Now the only thing I wish went better is that we had to go up the elevator and then go outside to get to our room but no big (except it was 39 degrees)
Our room was ocean front, bay back (double view *brownie bonus points*)
Our jacuzzi tub was a surprise, big spacious (I am 4 foot 8, my feet didn’t touch the other side of the tub *see pic*) it’s huge!!!, and my daughter loved it too!
We had 2 beds and a couch a chair tv and kitchen (micro, stove and oven)
I love this place, totally surprised.
The game room and pool are huge and fun but can get crowded.
But this place rocks my socks!!!

Enjoyed my overall stay here at this quality inn for the price I paid… the balcony view was decent for the room I had and the room was clean unlike some reviews I read on Unilocal… the staff was helpful and pleasant… i wish I could’ve gotten a king bed instead of two double beds but staff informed me the oceanview king sized bedrooms were all booked up which could’ve been true since it was cruisers week… the only cons I could think of are that the walls in my room 311 could’ve been wiped down a little better and yes the stove and kitchen appliances are outdated but I don’t care since I didn’t come to maryland to cook so all in all I would stay here again

Very disappointed in our stay. The staff are not friendly and have zero personality. They could not be bothered for even the simplest question. We checked out on a Monday (off season/​after Labor Day) and requested a later checkout of noon (checkout is at 11AM) — staff gave us an angry no and refused to discuss it further (the front desk clerk rudely walked away from us).
The room was not at all like the pictures on the website. There was new carpet in the hallways and our room. The furniture was all banged up, the kitchen appliances filthy and dinged up. The Refrigerator and microwave were dirty with busted pieces (and lots of crime/​dust on top of each appliance). The bed was old and not comfortable. The dust ruffle had a variety of large stains on all sides (I informed the front desk about it and suggested having it changed).
The bathroom was the worst — seriously outdated (from the late 70’s or early 80’s). The Jacuzzi tub looked old and dingy. The jets looked yellowish with shades of brown — could not even begin to imagine what would come out of the jets if we decided to turn it on. The toilet would barely flush (took several attempts no matter what was flushed). The front desk informed me that they receive several complaints about the issue since low flush toilets were installed. The sink stopper was broken, unattached and had to be removed to allow water to drain. the shower stall moves with you when taking a shower — very shaky. Lots of crusting and old caulk around the shower stall and sink.
The hallways were lined with busted curtain rods, odds and ends of furniture and miscellaneous items. It made loading in our luggage and walking in & out very awkward.
The only high points — beachfront balcony and hotel within walking distance to a variety of wonderful stores, restaurants & bars (Anthony’s, OC Wasabi, Bagel place, Salty Dog, Fractured Prune Donuts).
For the price, don’t bother! Next time, we’ll stay at the Hilton next door.

Disgusting hotel. Don’t not stay here. Everything is dirty and smelly. I checked in and food old food in the refrigerator and microwave. Room 423. It’s smells old and outdated. I wish I never stay here. This is the first time in 32 years I’ve ever stay somewhere and sleeved sleeping in the beds. I’m going home to put RIT in hair and families hair just in case. Yes that is how disgusting this place really is and dirty isn’t enough to describe it.

Great location. Cordial, but not overly friendly or helpful staff…

Hopeful to see an upgrade in their future. The rooms are horribly dated; décor drab; and hallways smell musty and damp.

The location was pretty nice but the whole hotel needs a make over. Cleanliness it is not. Both pools haven’t been clean in a longtime. The spa was broke and not filled up in years. The old pool was still there outside our window. Rust inside it and emptied. There was more stuff in the hotel that was broke and not fixed then working right. For the money they charged it was not worth it at all.

Me and my brother when over to Ocean City for a long weekend. It good hotel. But this those little thing need to remold. Staff great but the lobby look like a bank with the glass they stand behind. Indoor pool. Room small.
Room clean. Staff and great. Don’t go the restaurant in the second floor. Not worth it.

When you walk in the room the mini kitchen on the left. bathroom on the right. So if any one in the kitchen don’t open the door fast. flat screen tv. balcony but for being off season it was to cool. Hilton hotel across the street.
But it being Ocean City MD. Summer way to much. I stick with end of August or beginning of June. I’ll come back for the for the right price. And don’t forget go next door for Anthony beer wine and deli for there wonderful subs.
P. S. The four star is for the pice for the off season.

I’ve stayed at this place for the last time. Have visited three times now with promises that it will be better the next. I travel a lot and really don’t say much, but feel compelled to express my dissatisfaction with management, maintenance, housekeeping and reservations.
Let me begin with the on going fly problem that was continual throughout our stay and spent the first 1.5 hours of our stay killing these small flies around our room. Little was done to help this mess and there were no other rooms to relocate to. A moldy bucket was under the sink in the kitchenette to catch water from the pipes. We received stained sheets and none were redelivered after I said something. Had to address it myself. Air conditioning never got below 73 during the 4 day visit. The leaks in the roof throughout the hotel from rain was crazy.
If there was a light in this bleak place I would say it is the view from the balcony. This was the last time I will stay here and unfortunately I cannot recommend it to anyone in good conscience.

My husband and I stayed here in a king size bed efficiency oceanfront room with private balcony and 2 person whirl pool. We were quite impressed and pleased with the room, I would definitely stay again or recommend to anyone else. Now it is a little ways walking from board walk but that’s probably why it’s more reasonable in price as well. The room over all was nice, clean, comfortable bed and couch and we loved the whirl pool so relaxing after all that walking on boardwalk and swimming in ocean. My favorite part was the view absolutely beautiful we enjoyed sitting on the balcony at night enjoying the nice summer breeze, stars and sound of the ocean waves and of course again the view lol. Also the customer service was good they were all very friendly which is sadly something hard to find these days. We even arrived a littler early maybe hour and half and we were allowed to check in early no charge

My boyfriend and I stayed for 1 night in a king oceanfront room. It was very inexpensive compared to other hotels in OC, and it was nicer than we expected! The room was clean, for the most part; the coffee pot had coffee in it from the previous guests and the shower had clumps of hair in it. I would recommend this place and would stay here again for sure! Had such a great experience!

We’ve stayed here many times and for the most part have had decent experiences. The prices for an oceanfront room are great so we stayed here again on our most recent trip but there were some minor issues this time.
During the first night there, our refrigerator was making noises all night long and in the morning we noticed water leaking out of the bottom. We called the front desk and asked them to give us an hour before sending someone to check on it because we were leaving the room. We were gone for most of the morning and when we returned, parts of our refrigerator were sitting out on the counter and we weren’t sure what was going on. My husband called down to the front desk to find out and they were going to check on it. We were leaving for a while again and when we returned later on (hours later), the refrigerator was still not put back together. Later on, the front desk called up to the room and said they noticed there was a maintenance ticket and they were checking to make sure everything was taken care if. I let them know it wasn’t and they sent someone up right away.
During the day, the fire alarm also had been set off at least twice while we were there — I believe they were testing the system but we didn’t hear any instructions or announcements as to what was going on.
They were retiling floors to the parking garage entrances/​exits on the 3^rd & 4^th floors that were to be done by the second day of our trip but they ended up taking 3 extra days to finish.
Our screen door for the sliding doors to the balcony was just propped against the wall. We also had 2 microwaves — one didn’t work but there was nothing telling us that & and the one that did work had to be moved by us to the sink in between the bathrooms because there was no outlet to plug it in near the kitchen. Would’ve made more sense to remove the broken one, in my opinion.
These were all little nuisances that I believe could have been remedied if they would have paid more attention to the small details that make a hotel stay favorable. We may look into paying a little bit more at another hotel on a future visit in order to have those small details looked after.
On a positive note, the woman who checked us in was very friendly but the little issues we encountered afterwards are what we’ll remember.

I usually only enjoy leaving good reviews for most places but this one is different. The prices were cheaper if you want a hotel suite compared to the Hilton or Holiday Inn & Suites, but here are a few issues me and my husband had during our first and only visit in September:
The heat lamp in the bathroom was constantly on, indicating the timer button on it was broken, which we figured out how to fix it eventually.
Compared to another Quality Inn, this room’s kitchen barely had any useful pots and pans or dishes in general which I find odd for a suite.
The room had a very bad knat and small bug infestation issue.
For the hotel proclaiming its ‘upgraded’ rooms, ours seemed a little out of date, especially the carpets in the hallway.
The tv was a full, nice HD setup… but there was no DVD player which it claimed to have had.
And as for the worst of our stay…
When we finally decided to go to sleep, we pulled back the blankets and cuddled up, only to find many black little pubic looking hairs all around the bedding, as well as on the comforter along with some weird colorful stains. Seeing as we don’t have dark hair like that in any way, we knew it wasn’t ours. So my husband went down to the front desk at 1am to help inquire about different sheets and the man on the nightshift was very rude at first, and reluctantly handed us a pile of fresh sheets. Well, none of the sheets fit because they were for queen size beds, and ours was a king. After the third attempt of trying to get the right sheets, the man finally brought us another stackfull and said that was all he could find until housekeeping came in. We just ended up fitting the still queen sheets on the bed and tried to sleep, wanting to avoid moving all of our stuff to a different room at that time of night.
Thankfully in the morning, the women at the front desk and housekeeping were much nicer and we had our bed completely redone in its blankets and sheets.
If anything good came of this place it was the nice jaccuuzi tub in the bathroom, the room was a decent size, and the parking garage was a nice add on.
Other than this, we didn’t really enjoy it and would much rather go to the Hilton or Holiday Inn & Suites to spend a little extra money for the complete ‘suite’ room feel. Or to be cheaper with a nicer stay, the Quality Inn Oceanfront was much much better than its Suites.

Great deal! Must be the off season but this California family didn’t known any better and hit OC and Virginia Beach. Our stay, although the room was super huge and suite was outdated, was perfect for our family. Night Staff was nice. Not a sparkling clean place but fine for the rates. Good experience.

Pros: inexpensive compared to most beach front hotels in OCMD. The outdoor pool is nice and the views are fantastic.
Cons: We were told the ocean view rooms were fully renovated. If «fully renovated» means hastily laid carpet, smelly paint fumes, and a crap couch in the room, sure. The bathroom, which was probably fantastic in the early ‘90s, is sporting a rusty shower and an OLD creepy jetted tub. I filled that ish with bleach before dipping a single toe in the thing.
It’s a shoddy outdated hotel. If the price is right and you don’t care, go on ahead and do you. At least you’ve had a fair warning.

stayed here over a summer weekend. place was at capacity but it was quiet and pleasant. the rooms were pretty clean and well appointed. I was very impressed with them letting us have an early check-​in – I think it was about 1300 when we arrived.

The QI on 33^rd is one of the best hotels in OCMD. They are currently remodeling all of the rooms, so you may get stuck in one of the older ones. But no worries, they will all be done soon. And even if you are in one of the outdated rooms, the staff is SO friendly and professional here; it doesn’t even matter.
The indoor pool is beautiful and a real treat in the off-​season.
The in-​hotel restaurant serves breakfast only, but the food is delicious! The servers are nice and service is quick.
Location is fantastic as well. They are only approx 5 blocks from the end of the boardwalk and right next to Anthony’s Beer, Wine & Deli, which has the best sandwiches!
All in all, QI on 33^rd is a great place to stay while enjoying OC!

We were 99.9% satisfied with our overall experience. We were ocean front, top floor. the room was huge! the carpet looked fairly new, they were painting the hallway and doors. so apparently they are remodeling. Our room was cleaned and restocked every day… and smelled really good upon our return. The only thing I would recommend is the toilets really need cleaned up under the rim (you could see it while inside the jacuzzi tub)…the wallpaper was outdated, but everything else was great. If we ever go back to OCMD, we would stay here again… I’ve already recommended it to friends who plan to visit.
