Flashback Old Time Photos

This was a fun experience for me, my husband and my dog. The people at this location were really nice and we got in for photos quickly. They didn’t bring me options for the dress, just brought one dress. It was ok, but I would have expected to give some input. The women’s costumes are definitely a bit worn, but come out fine in photos. There were a few really good pictures, but a lot were not very flattering which was disappointing. I’d do it again for sure, and have already framed the ones I liked.
We did wait a really long time for the person ahead of us to finish ordering pictures which was awful since we had our dog with us and he got antsy with all the people.

Its a location that is not too busy. its a fun experience and I love doing it every year sometimes twice. It is expensive but its so fun and worth it. Surprisingly, getting dressed up is pretty easy and its not time consuming. They are really friendly, the photographer is patient and friendly. At this particular location, I believe the photographer is the same from last summer we went. DO IT!

Mr. Brian was absolutely awesome. He did so well with our 2 and half year old and the pictures were adorable. The little girl working with him could have shown less bra but I can’t really complain to much about that because the pictures are worth it!

My boyfriend and I had been planning on getting a photo package at some point or another — maybe from Target, JC Penney, etc. — but we’d never gotten around to it. During our recent vacation in O.C., we were strolling the Boardwalk and saw this little shop that offered «old-​fashioned style» photographs. Yes, it’s touristy, and yes, it’s expensive as hell, but we went in and had a look anyway. We spoke with a friendly woman named Mila, who gave us the lowdown on how the process was done, and we left, promising to think about getting a package.
Before we knew it, our vacation was over — but we still couldn’t really get the idea of those photographs out of our minds. So we decided to take a ride up Coastal Highway and talk with the staff there to get more information. I can only remember the counter person’s name was Jessica — I can’t remember the guy’s name there, but he was a sweetheart, explaining the process to us and giving us package prices.
We decided to go ahead and splurge a bit, getting a small package deal that was just enough for friends and family. I was a bit worried that they wouldn’t have outfits to fit me (I’m a, uh, generous plus-​sized female), but I needn’t have been — they had plenty of options that fit just fine. My boyfriend gave them a bit of background, being from the West Coast, and they decided that a «Western gunslinger» theme would be the ideal choice.
It was. Those photographs turned out wonderfully, even better than we’d hoped for. I’ve already given my family some copies, and they adore them!
Yes, this is a very spendy and touristy thing to do — the photographs are NOT cheap. But they were patient with us, allowing us to try options, helping us dress the part, etc., that the expense was well worth it.
Everyone that I spoke with, from Mila at the Boardwalk location to the friendly people at Coastal Highway, was very nice and eager to help us out. If you’re going to have this sort of thing done, you can’t get a better place than this. Great experience!
