4th Street Taphouse

Ate outside on the boardwalk patio last night. My orange crush drink tasted like it was from concentrated juice instead of fresh squeezed. Wing appetizer was ok, but the sauce was one I’d never want to taste again. Worst part was the cheesesteak, the steak seemed good except it was smothered in this odd flavored cheese whiz, and the untoasted bun was soggy mess. Doubt I’d ever purposely return!

Came here again this past weekend to give this place another shot! What a difference in service! Food was great, again — I tried the pierogies, wings, a burger, and their chips. Everything was delicious! Everyone else liked their meals too. The service was also much better this time around. We were a party of 8 and had our friends (a party of 6) join us later on. They accomodated everything and all of our beers stayed filled. The manager also reached out to me for my last review, which was much appreciated. Glad we gave this restaurant another try.

Happy hour is until 5pm (slightly early IMO) but we arrived with little to no one in or around the outdoor patio and had to wait for a hostess to arrive from the group of amassed employees conjugating in the rear of the bar — I just noticed that this establishment opened less than 8 weeks ago — we came here on Aug 31 2015 so maybe things are just getting worked out between staff and management for that evening — not too sure.
If you are a beer bar and one that boasts their Assawomen Bay housebrew, why are your beer menus NOT up to date with the latest taps?! Seriously I go to dive bars in Baltimore that can do it, why can’t a place that charges $ 10 for an above average cup of cream of crab not do it daily?! THEIR BEER IS GREAT TOO, so it is even more confusing why they are slipping on the little details! Their crab pretzel was ok, but the bread was way too hard and made it unbearably hard to cut with silverware — sorry for bending your fork in half!
Speaking of great, our server, he was excellent and the whole staff were very friendly.
The inner atmosphere was rather beautiful and their bar was huge and looked like a great place to catch a game — I just wish some of the most basic amenities for a beer bar were actually there — 3 stars for now!

Took my son here and he said «This place is the bomb»!! An explosion of excitement for your taste buds! He had the shark brisket burger … Not a bad price for Boardwalk restaurant either, the fries AND chips are home aide. It’s a great bar/​restaurant. Our waiter Carmen H was friendly and and knowledgeable of the menu to help us with our choices. We will definitely be coming back and bringing friends. there should be no reason we won’t see this restaurant stay here for many years to come!

The food wasn’t that good. We got chicken Caesar salads. Fresh but the chicken had a weird texture and the dressing wasn’t great. Wouldn’t go back but wasn’t horrible.

If you want a little break from the boardwalk, but don’t want to go too far, this is a good option. Decent beer, strong drinks (be careful on those hot days!), and good food. I started with an orange crush, which was a little too strong for the middle of the afternoon on a hot day, so I switched to beer. It was also just a little too «orange» for me. It tasted like Sunny D with alcohol. But the wheat beer I ended up with worked out much better. I had the black bean and quinoa burger, which had just the right flavor and texture. The Old Bay chips didn’t really have an Old Bay flavor, but the rosemary parmesan fries were on point. Although they use what I call «sprinkle cheese», it managed to make for a pretty flavorful fry. I would definitely return for lunch the next time I’m at the beach!

Surprisingly good crab pretzels. Actual adult company. Fun to people watch on the boardwalk.

$ 150 for mediocrity.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a positive meal at a Tap House, but when you’re in Ocean City you start to run out of places to go, throw your hands up in the air and just sit down to eat before everyone gets cranky and starts shouting at one another because there’s no where to eat.
The clam pasta special was so watery that it was inedible. Guys, you have to drain the pasta, and the water from the clams before combining it into a bowl. You may have been confusing it with your «recipe» for soup.
The BLT sandwich could have been so much better if the bacon were hot, but it was just tough meat — almost like jerky. The Old Bay chips that came with it were pretty great, I’ll give them that.
The mussels were fairly bland. There was a sllllllight hint of flavor in the broth but I’ve learned now that just because you’re by the ocean doesn’t mean that anyone knows how to prepare seafood. Someone at our table was convinced he’d be getting sick from them. We ended up being fine, but if that’s your standard, then eat here.
The server disappeared for awhile.
The beer was good. No prices on the menu for beer. Maybe they’re keeping it in the same locked cabinet with the fresh food and flavor.

Scotty is the best bartender in Ocean City! Very personable and knows the beers that he is serving! He made out stop here one to remember!!!

Great beer menu. Different take on your average burgers that actually works. Wings were out of this world. Baked in their beer the fried with special wing sauce. Wait staff knowledgeable of their menu and beer selection.

Pretty typical bar food. For a bar restaurant right on the boardwalk the prices aren’t too bad and the food quality is pretty good. They have a nice selection of brews and some good speciality burgers. The appetizers were really good. They have a vegan burger on the menu too, just a heads up for all the vegans!
All and all nothing too special, but certainly better than what other reviews are claiming. The atmosphere when they have the big window open to let the ocean air in is nice too!

New place just opened up on the boardwalk. They sell traditional pub food and breakfast. Happy hour is from 1 – 5. Very little of the staff speaks English. Took 20 minutes to get the check. Just a bad experience all around. Wanted to talk to a manager a out the experience but was said they were too busy. Really!
